Rooms were quite spacious by Paris Hotel room standards. The location is excellent, just bordering on the 8th and 1st arrondissements. The Hotel is newly refurbished but retains its old character.
The staff were hit 'n miss. Some were extremely friendly and helpfull, others not so. The reception area is extremely compact, does not lend itself to dealing with receptionists in comfort as it is 2-3m from the front door. The rooms altough very clean, are basic - shower had no curtain or screen so the bathroom looked like a screenshot from waterworld when finished, Construction work was taking place next door, we were never informed of this, hence my 8am alarm call by pneumatic drill. Maybe I am being unfair, but that was my experience. Better value in Paris to be had.
This was our second stay at Le Lavoisier. We obviously like everything about the hotel...great, quiet location, helpful staff, reasonable value for Paris.
The only thing I see that needs improvement is the lighting in the very dark basement breakfast area making it difficult to read newspapers or to plan the day's activities using a map.
It has a charm and because it's quite small the staff know you personally . It's situation is excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The bedrooms and particularly the bathrooms are quite small. The hotel is in need of some re-decoration in some areas if they want to keep up a reputation of being 'chic'.
The hotel gives u a very warm feeling although some dtls are missing, like the supply of the toilettries. The staffs are extremely helpful, especially the lady in the afternoon shift. The location is good if for shopping.
The cleaning needs a bit improvement, like cleaning the tub and the vacuum of the floor. The should provide the cotton pad, slipper etc.
The stay was very pleasant; extremely helpful staff. Clean, quiet, relatively spacious room. Location was excellent close to the metro stations and close to the landmarks... Enjoying Paris by foot.
Would have liked a coffee machine in the room but it was ok.. Room service was ok
We felt very comfortable at the hotel ... friendly staff, lovely room and excellent location.
Would have liked to have had an English channel on the TV ... even if only the CNN news. Also, no shower curtain in the shower
Very good hotel for the money in a very good location. Not much in the way of facilities, but for the money and location very hard to beat.
Good location in Paris
Expensive internet connection
friendliness of staff
you need to make sure you request non smoking. When I arrived my room smelled of smoke
Nice and quiet hotel
The TV was a small and very old one...
