Location n cleanliness.
Breakfast not worth the money. Much better choices nearby that had better food for about the same cost. Location was good. Walking distance to shopping, nightlife and Museums. Personnel tried, a few were cheerful and welcoming.
No TV in room, we had a remote, but no TV set. Called desk, but no answer. Bed too low & uncomfortable. Our room was smaller than a College dorm room. One chair. No USB outlets. Shower stall (actually, a lack of stall) was interesting. No door, no curb to trap water, water just splashed out the back onto the bathroom floor which became very slippery. We used more towels drying the floor. No bathroom fan to clear air, window did not have screen. No privacy lock on glass bathroom door, just a curtain. Minimal staff, we were locked out of hotel one night because night clerk was away from desk working on an issue in a guest room. Inconsistent room service, sometimes we got extra towels, sometimes not enough. Some bath towels were like sandpaper. Lights in stairwell did not always work.
The location near louvre Rivoli is ideal to explore Paris on foot- the reason why we chose to try this hotel.
We had a room with a sleeping room and a small living (third bed) . The rooms are not well maintained with stained walls, shower ceiling mold, torn curtains and dirty floors, glass elements, bed frames etc The street is small, but also close to nightlife spots of St denis and chatelet, so very loud throughout the night and morning with partying, quarreling or shouting folks. Also cars with loud music parked there and motorcycles. Unfortunately, the windows are not isolated to reduce the noise impact. Paris is expensive, but usually one will find better for 350 Euro per night.
The location is good
The rooms are not as the pictures! I ordered a special room (very expensive) too my girlfriend's birthday, but I've got a completely different room! I told the receptionist, her response was "Oh, the pictures are only for marketing.. we don't have such rooms" When I asked her to change my room to a different one, she said she can't. When I asked to downgrade to a standard room and get a refund, she told me she can give me a standard room but the price will be the same. Very disappointed.
Location, wi-fi, comfy bed
Paid for a “superior” room! No 605. Awful. Nothing like the pictures shown on their website. Bathroom had a glass door that didn’t close or lock, with a curtain you could pull across. There was a gap between the bathroom door and frame of about a centimetre allowing absolutely no privacy from the other person in your room. The room was so small that you couldn’t open the wardrobe doors as the bed was in the way. Lighting was terrible: so dark. Window curtain broken. No water in room: when asked was told there was no bottled water at the hotel. We had to use the mini bar our first night as there was no bottled water available in the hotel. The mini bar never got replenished : and even though at check out we explained we had to use the mini bar as there was no water supplied- we were still charged for what we used. “International” tv: the only English tv channel was BBC news. No security at hotel. Didn’t ask for any credentials on arrival. The bar is not a proper bar. It’s a reception area with a couple of bottles of booze. Horrendously overpriced for what you get. I feel very conned from what the internet pictures sold us to what we actually got.
