Amazingly comfortable room with everything we needed to hand. Staff were al friendly and welcoming. Exactly what we needed for a relaxing summer break from the stress of work. We would definitely recommend it. We particularly enjoyed the central location close to the start of many walks and excursions with facilities in the spa which is also easy to access.
There wasn’t anything to not like.
Location is very close to the heart of Oxford. It has the old 'grandeur' of a hotel that was probably top of its class in the past.
The hotel is run down. First room Air Conditioning did not work. They switched us to another room, but that was in the back, with loud noise from the back alley which has a Caribbean pub. If you like Caribbean music until midnight, you will love this hotel. Overall, it's an old stuffy hotel, with up-and-down wifi, limited selection for breakfast, and terribly slow elevators.
I left my earrings in the room. When I called the next day asking for it, the hotel said they did not find anything when doing the room clearance. This is quite a bad experiment as I had the same matter in previous trip in Paris and that great hotel sent it back to me by courier! Watch out your personal staffs when stay in this hotel. It makes me feel like it is not how Great Britain should be~ Pity~
had a problem with the AC in our room staff went out of their way to help us and put us in another room
we liked everything
Staff couldn’t have made us more welcome. Everything possible was done to make our stay perfect. The room was very well equipped and super comfortable. Breakfast was excellent!
Nothing could be improved.
