As the Masseria is in a rural location it was a ten minute drive to the town for lunch. It would have been nice to be able to have lunch at the Masseria even if it was a snack/sandwich.

Pros: Firstly I want to say that the staff st the hotel were amazing! We were driving to Otranto and they communicated very well with us as to the location. They met us nearby and picked up our luggage in a little cart. They also gave us a map and told us where we could park our car. The hotel was lovely. The location perfect! Rooftop views and bar was perfect. Walking distance to everything you need and want to see in the old town. Right next to the cathedral, little shops, restaurants and bars. We were checking out early and they accommodated us by bringing coffee and pastries, fruit and yoghurt to our room. We ate them on the balcony with a view of the ocean. Perfect stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Upon return from parking the car properly, the check in was easy since all payment was charged before arrival. Beautiful room with 5-star amenities and service. Beautiful rooftop terrazza where we could enjoy the views of the bay and surrounding rooftops both evening and morning where we enjoyed the spectacular breakfast buffet. Fantastic location within the walls of the old town. Strong WIFI. Departure was simple. For a splurge while in Ortanto I would highly recommend Hotel Palazzo Papaleo

Pros: I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful Hotel Corte di Nettuno. When I booked online, It seemed like a nice (if not fantastic) hotel, reasonable for the price range. What I found was a unique hotel that seemed like a big, friendly B&B. The hotel is like a museum with old maritime and nautical artifacts, maps, etc right throughout the main areas of the hotel and the rooms. It gives it such a nice feel. From the moment I walked in, the staff were friendly and helpful and I was welcomed with a glass of Prosecco. They spoke English very well. They have a restaurant on site. Their house red wine was beautiful - highly recommended. The meal I had was delicious and reflective of local Puglian cuisine (calimari for starters and the orrichette pasta for mains). There are small (and crowded in August) beaches in town, but the hotel offers a shuttle service to the long sandy Alimini beach about 5km north of Otranto. They also have a deal where you get an umbrella and 2 sun lounges for 15 Euro for the day at this beach (which is private like many of the beaches in Europe). When I missed my shuttle coming back late in the afternoon, I was able to call the hotel and they immediately booked me on the next shuttle. Finally, my room was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable and the design of the room was fantastic, with a little loft / mezzanine area with a couch that could double as another single bed (along with the main double bed on floor level).

Cons: Service is far from 4 star quality. Also I was expecting a jacuzzi/pool and a fitness center as it is rated 4 starts, but it has none. I also asked for an iron and they did not even have that, so in my experience it is more like a 3 star hotel. It is cheap, so save to say that you get what you pay for.

Cons: Our air conditioning was not working on arrival at lunchtime on Saturday and was not fixed until Monday afternoon, which meant that we had two uncomfortable nights. Cons: There was honestly nothing bad I could say about this hotel. I gave the highest score for it's location. It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the back entrance of the old town, walking around the harbour / port. This was a perfect location for me (not too busy / noisy and probably a little less expensive than staying right in the old town itself), although some people might prefer to be right in the middle of the action of the old town.

Pros: My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Albania. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the rooms are much bigger than the "typical" European hotel room, there were a lot of options for breakfast (and starting the day with breakfast on a terrace overlooking the sea was fantastic!) and the location was really perfect - just outside the old town walls. Parking to unload bags was a little tricky if you don't find a spot on the street close by but it wasn't terrible. The hotel also has a negotiated discounted rate for daily and overnight parking at a lot not far from the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Our stay was just marvelous: we received an extraordinary sea view room/suite (with two bathrooms - one of them featured even a jacuzzi!) including a spectacular terrace overlooking Otranto's Centro storico, the Lungomare and the sea. The location of the Hotel is perfect, just in front of the Gate to the Old town, but still quiet enough. The breakfast with different varieties of very good coffee and fresh fruit is served on a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and the staff is exceptionally lovely. The Hotel offers free bicycle rental, which allows to discover Salento's hidden beach gems as the Baia dei Turchi or Torre Sant'Andrea on two wheels, and seems to be quite popular among "cicloturisti", no wonder why! We enjoyed our stay very much and can definitely recommend Hotel Albania - we hope to be back one day ourselves. Grazie mille, Hotel Albània!

Pros: Good size room with balcony. Nice bathroom spotlessly clean with a powerful shower. Chance to have breakfast outside on the 3rd floor restaurant terrace. Good continental breakfast. Location in Otranto was excellent, within easy walking distance of the centre, restaurants etc.
Cons: Air conditioning was poor, could be controlled, but not switched on from room, had to phone reception. When the system was on it was noisy and ineffective. Air conditioning went off at about 4:00am and room quickly became very hot. Sleeping was difficult because of the high room temperature and no ventilation. Although there was a window in the bathroom it had no insect screen. Our room was on the 3rd floor close to the kitchen so disturbed quite early. Parking very limited near the hotel, we were lucky!

Pros: Reception was excellent, even parked in the underground carpark 'cos we had a small car (Mini Countryman). Located very near the major attractions, Room was a suite with harbour view from the balcony. Breakfast fine on outside terrace. Very modern clean and might well return.

Pros: My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Albania. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the rooms are much bigger than the "typical" European hotel room, there were a lot of options for breakfast (and starting the day with breakfast on a terrace overlooking the sea was fantastic!) and the location was really perfect - just outside the old town walls. Parking to unload bags was a little tricky if you don't find a spot on the street close by but it wasn't terrible. The hotel also has a negotiated discounted rate for daily and overnight parking at a lot not far from the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: I don't really have any complaints. The most challenging thing for me was figuring out where to park so we could check in and unload the bags. All else was great.

Pros: Our stay was just marvelous: we received an extraordinary sea view room/suite (with two bathrooms - one of them featured even a jacuzzi!) including a spectacular terrace overlooking Otranto's Centro storico, the Lungomare and the sea. The location of the Hotel is perfect, just in front of the Gate to the Old town, but still quiet enough. The breakfast with different varieties of very good coffee and fresh fruit is served on a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and the staff is exceptionally lovely. The Hotel offers free bicycle rental, which allows to discover Salento's hidden beach gems as the Baia dei Turchi or Torre Sant'Andrea on two wheels, and seems to be quite popular among "cicloturisti", no wonder why! We enjoyed our stay very much and can definitely recommend Hotel Albania - we hope to be back one day ourselves. Grazie mille, Hotel Albània!

The next day when we checked out said something to Paulo at front desks said all the rooms were done. Now tell me why would I make that up Paulo was rude from the beginning. Then they all ways day the same thing he didn't understand. Now tell me why working the Hotel front desk he can t talk to people. Very disappointed don't stay there paid for a view and didn't get it.

Pros: This hotel is absolutely perfect. Great location, just a few minutes walk from the town centre. The ‘small bedroom’ was of good size, clean and with all the comforts: powerful shower, hairdryer, TV and air conditioning. There is an amazing roof terrace that can be enjoyed during the day and at night, with an amazing view of the town and seaside. The breakfast is also great, with a lot of things to choose from, and can be enjoyed on a terrace. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, they gave us a lot of information about the area and even booked the beach for us. I would definitely recommend this place, we really loved our stay.

Pros: Relais Valle dell'Idro was a lovely modern hotel, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Our room was bright, spacious and a joy to return to after a day out in the hot sunshine. The staff were very friendly, personable and professional with a special thanks to Daniel, Francesca, Isabella, Eleanor and the ladies who tended an excellent breakfast buffet. Otranto was a beautiful seaside town with an atmospheric historic centre within the city walls, lovely beaches, fine restaurants and a lovely genteel ambience. We will return to Otranto and stay in the Valle dell'Idro.

The breakfast is also great, with a lot of things to choose from, and can be enjoyed on a terrace. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, they gave us a lot of information about the area and even booked the beach for us. I would definitely recommend this place, we really loved our stay.

Pros: Relais Valle dell'Idro was a lovely modern hotel, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Our room was bright, spacious and a joy to return to after a day out in the hot sunshine. The staff were very friendly, personable and professional with a special thanks to Daniel, Francesca, Isabella, Eleanor and the ladies who tended an excellent breakfast buffet. Otranto was a beautiful seaside town with an atmospheric historic centre within the city walls, lovely beaches, fine restaurants and a lovely genteel ambience. We will return to Otranto and stay in the Valle dell'Idro.

Pros: We were a big group of nine adults and two small children staying there in four different rooms. The four bed room had a small outside space which was great to dry swim wear but it would have been better if the family could have stayed in the big triple room (a double bed and a 140 cm bed so that the one year old more easily could have shared a bed with her parents as she can not sleep in a bed of her own but this was not allowed on booking.com). The triple room was nice as the third bed was almost in a room of its own for some privacy. The owner was nice and there was room to store a few of the bikes under the stairs for safety. A plus was a place to sit outside the hotel at a few table and chairs. The hotel was in a residential area but not a long walk (5 - 10 minutes) to the old town or the beach promenade but quite a long way a away from the best beach in town.

Pros: It was ok for a night. Check in was smooth, room was simple style as was bathroom. The front door was the only means to get some light in the room without having lights on. I would have preferred to control air on myself but it was set by reception. I couldn’t alter it as much as I’d like so the room was incredibly hot. Breakfast as good and staff were pleasant. Small supermarket just across the street. I would stop again if I was in the area.

Cons: Disappointing that the wellness centre/spa was out of action- although apparently it said on the website it wasn't made very obvious until we'd already booked. We were booking using the phone app and that was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. Was a very expensive room without it. Not sure what the other guests said to get free parking- maybe you get special treatment if you pay for a different room. The coffee at breakfast was dreadful.
