Pros: The owner Tony, the fantastic views from our room, his fantastic pizza and considerable care and advices!
Cons: A bit away from town but at the same time, it was really quiet
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tony is a fantastic host! The ambience of Casa la Chola is absolutely stunning, you're in the middle of the sacred valley, surrounded by mountains, beautiful views and the sound of the Urubamba River. Tony provided great info on how to get around, not only Ollantaytambo but also useful insights on Peru. His pizzas and hospitality are AMAZING and the uniqueness of Casa La Chola will certainly make you feel at home. Coming from Mexico (and being used to latin service), it is always hard to find such great hosts, but Tony went above and beyond our expectations! Casa la Chola might not be exactly in Ollantaytambo, but the 10 minute colectivo ride is TOTALLY worth it! Don't miss the opportunity and, if you go, say high to negro (the cat) on our behalf!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel’s owner Tony is very friendly and helpfull. Rooms are clean and cozy, well-furnished lobby is big and homy, place is great for instagram fellas as it has lots of artist built elements. Owner cooks fabulous dinners so we even decided to eat at the hotel (after trying several places around). Rooms has enormous bed, clean bedsheets, hot water, comfy furniture. Owner keeps the quality of the hotel and restaurant on a high level. Dishes at hotel’s restaurants are a must - best local food. We highly recommend this place - your stay will be very comfortable, safe and hearty.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The location of the place is between the mountains and the Urubamba river, which makes it so relaxing. The room was sparkling clean with very nice details. That also goes for the bathroom. The common areas are very well maintained with an amazing view of the sacred valley. The breakfast was very delicious and the fresh made pizzas were the cherry of the cake. Communication with the owner (Tony) was very fast and he helped us to get transportation around. I would definitely come back!
Cons: It is very difficult to find something you don't like from this place. It was a very pleasant experience.

Pros: On arrival we were greeted with a warm smile. The lady was very informative, helpful and spoke very fluent English. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable, cosy and incredibly fresh/clean. The roof top terrace is a superb place for an afternoon drink at sunset, with probably the best views in town. Mind blowing. Breakfast was cooked fresh and very good. Shower was a bit hit and miss with warm water. There was a power outage in the whole town for most of our first day. Out of the control of Kamma obviously.
Cons: Can not fault. A must stay!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly Staff, Clean Room and hot Water
8.8 Excellent
Pros: If you like to get off the beaten path and go on long, tourist-free walks in the vast mountain-scape surrounding the gorgeous town of Ollantaytambo, this is the place for you. The friendly proprietor talked my ear off (possibly 2 hours) on the culture, history, and, mainly, hiking opportunities surrounding the town. My significant other and I went on a 4-5 hour walk in the mountains and encountered NO other tourists. It was awesome and incredibly scenic! As others said, there are great views from the hotel, and the hotel abuts the market (the best place to eat for shoestringers like us). Highly recommended, especially for outdoorsy folks.
Cons: The water is not super hot, and the internet is not very strong, but that's par for the course in Peru (at least in hotels that cost <$20US/night, like this one).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location only a block from the main square. About 1 min walk to the collectivos/busses and about 10 min walk to the train station. Nice breakfast on the rooftop with views of the ruins and the surrounding mountains. They took my visa card for payment.
Cons: The room we got didn't have any windows and we could hear the other guests as they got up at 4am for Machu Picchu outings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, property
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse was exceptionally clean, the room had a fantastic view. The owner was incredibly helpful with booking tickets to Macchu Piccu! Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is great! Great Location! Everything is nearby. Nice staff! The Room is clean. Value of money.
Cons: Some staff can't speak English but it's not a problem. We use google translator to help. Bathroom is so small, not suitable for those who are big.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to main square. Really value for money. Hot showers througout day & night. Plenty of places to hang your clothes. Good bed & warm room.
Cons: Nothing

5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was good and some of the staff were very helpful.
Cons: There was one incident that happened the second night I and my wife had dinner at the restaurant there. It seemed the restaurant was usually packed with Europe folks. I must have been out of place since the head waiter did not seem to notice us sitting there and no one placed a napkin and glass in front of us until I asked the head waiter. He brought 2 glasses over and then poured the water from MY bottle of water into the glasses without saying a word. Usually I am asked first what I would like to drink ? This head waiter was falling over himself attending to the other “favored” guests. Other than this incident, I appreciated the help from the kitchen staff whom I did not forget to tip well.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food, friendly staff. Beautiful spot.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The two ladies working at Dona Catta Inn were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Good location next to Ollantaytambo ancient ruins. Overall a positive experience.
Cons: Not much to dislike as everything was good. The English man in Dona Catta didn’t smile, acknowledge guests or say hello. However, the rest of the staff made up for this as they were always happy and smiling.

Pros: Great location and great staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location, friendly staff and nice breakfast.
Cons: It’s a bit noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fantastic! The best thing were the down feather blankets, the best blankets we had in 3 weeks in Peru. Normally you get two-three heavy blankets, where it feels like sleeping under a carpet. That heavy and stiff. But at Doña Catta it was a light and fluffy dream!
Cons: The showerhead hangs so low, showering is uncomfy for taller people (I am 1.80m/5'11f). Everything else was great!
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was good, the staff were nice and they facilitated a packed breakfast and kept our luggage safe as we left to Macchu Picchu quite early.
Cons: The rooms were quite noisy, the windows were not double glazing so there was a cold draft and we could hear the outside noise. The water was freezing cold in the morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, and really really good breakfast! Thank you for the stay!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The terrace is lovely with a great view of the mountains and ruins. The owners of the hotel is a sweet elderly couple who are very friendly and nice. The staff also are quite nice, especially Jordan, who is a resident expert on what to see around Ollantaytambo. Highly recommend taking suggestions from him about what to do around the town.
Cons: We initially selected a room with a garden view. But when we arrived we received a small, stuffy room, with a small window looking to a roof wall. But we asked them on the third day to give us a better room and they understood our point, and gave us a terrace room for the next two days.

Cons: Room size , poor furnishings, very small bathroom

Pros: Amazing service, very polite, picked us up right from the airport. Would stay here again in a heartbeat
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible 360 degree view over the mountains and Inca ruins from the top deck terrace ...
Cons: Could only pay in USD not in Soles on my Visa (very expensive in currency exchange rate when I have a European visa in a 3rd currency).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location in the Incan part of town. Staff was very helpful with all sorts of advice, restaurants, laundry, arranging transportation, etc and effectively communicated with us before our stay. The breakfasts were so delicious and the coffee was very good. All the staff was extremely friendly and kind. We had the 3rd floor, and the terrace provided an amazing view and a place for our kids to run around a bit. They were very attentive to details.
Cons: Beds were small, wished it was queen size. Also it was tough to climb up the stairs when we arrived, though the staff helped with the luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds beautiful large room with many windows and huge terrace outside with views of ruins. Very helpful and welcoming staff. 5 stars. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
Cons: That I have to leave

Pros: Great location, a few minutes from the square, 15 minutes walk to the train station. The owner was friendly and welcoming and helpful (printed our boarding passes for us!). The view out to the ruins/archeological park from our room window was stunning.
Cons: Nothing they can do, but the rooms are mostly around the kitchen/lounge area so you'll hear all that goes on and may be disturbed if you're a late sleeper. We aren't, so it didn't bother us. Otherwise it was quiet all night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was a great place to stay, and Jorge was a delight :)
Cons: It was a little difficult to find.
6.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good, staff was nice, location was close to train station
Cons: Room was very dirty, no air conditioning, had to find your own towels and toilet paper, front desk dissapeared around 6pm and the shared spaces can get pretty loud with other travelers
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s the best guest house in Ollantaytambo. Great room view, great location and great owner. Room is very clean and just few minutes walk to Inca ruins and restaurants also Station is 7 min down the street. I highly recommend this accommodation.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cozy place and very close to the square for restaurants, shopping and tours. You are not hassled like you are in Cusco - this made it for me. Jorge is super helpful and friendly. We stayed in a 4 person bedroom with 2 small kids and this met expectations. Outside your window you have a view of the ruins. GREAT location
Cons: None - really nice place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We overlooked some incredible ruins. The bed and beddings were great!
Cons: The room was crowded with the furniture they used. There isn’t towel service daily along w the cleaning. Breakfast was really just fruit and bread and cheese.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room at Hotel Parwa was very comfortable and attractive. The town of Ollantaytambo is exceedingly pleasant, though I was glad we were not right on the main square. Parwa is well located a few blocks from the square on one of the very picturesque stone streets.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: New hotel and very clean. Staff friendly. Great location. Breakfast was nice- fresh fruits, bread, ham and cheese, marmalade and butter, and boiled egg. Teas and coffee.

Mama Simona- Ollantaytambo - Ollantaytambo - Bedroom
11
9.0 Excellent (127 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Mama Simona- Ollantaytambo in Ollantaytambo, you'll be on a river, just a 1-minute walk from Cerro Pinculluna and 6 minutes by foot from Pinkuylluna Mountain Granaries. Featured amenities include a computer station, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Pros: I liked that the rooms were kept clean and there weren’t any strange odours. A towel was provided. My stay was during low season so on my first night, I was the only occupant in my room for four people. Overall, I had a decent experience at Mama Simona mostly because it was $60 CAD cheaper than nearby Peru Quechua hotel for the two nights. The common area is also decent.
Cons: In my room 3 on the top level, the sink hot water tap was stripped. The shower took a while to get warm, and there wasn’t any warm water on my second night at all. The shower pressure quality was 7/10 at best. There were some flying creatures in the air, but that wasn’t a deal breaker - I was more impacted by the lack of hot water. Overall, I wasn’t a huge fan of the bathroom. The breakfast each morning was a bit paltry but I know I can’t expect too much - hard boiled eggs, bowl of cereal, bread, butter, jam, orange juice, and coffee/tea. The place seems to be family-run. I was was only slightly disappointed that box lunches weren’t offered for trips to Machu Picchu. Box lunches are commonly provided by hostels and hotels in that area. Lastly, bear in mind that this hostel is a 9 min walk from the main square where all the restaurants are. It is also about a 16 min walk to the train station. If you don’t want to walk, you can get the attention of passing tuk tuks who would charge 1 PEN. Some previous female reviewers noted being apprehensive of the late night walk home, and I can see where they are coming from. It is pretty dark with no street lights, and some stray dogs roam around. However, the hostel staff told me it’s safe and I admittedly never experienced anything questionable on these night walks. The dogs are not dangerous and seem very used to humans.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is great - a short walk from the main square and on a quiet road. Ollantaytambo is busy so it's good to find a place off the main track. The garden is beside a river and our room had a small balcony overlooking the fast flowing water. The hostel is well run, with efficient, calm reception service. We met several families and groups staying for a couple of nights. Breakfast is from 6am and there is a kitchen for you to prepare your own meals from 11am. This flexibility is useful and makes Mama Simone's great value for money. There are small rooms and shared dormitories. You can buy essential items like razors and people donate items as well (we left mosquito repellent after our trip to the jungle). We sat in the garden and relaxed in the hammocks - an easy-going and relaxed place to rest after walking miles!
Cons: You have to be prepared for the loud sound of running water just outside the room! Extras like fresh fruit or omelette can be bought in addition to the basic breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room with balcony overlooking the river and gardens. Quiet and peaceful. Sound of river was smoothing.
Cons: Breakfast could have been better with egg and bread choices, and fruits
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mama Simona easily lived up to its reputation of being perhaps the best hostel in Peru. I wound up cancelling the next 2 nights at another hostel so that I could extend my stay here. Also, the wifi and satellite tv reception was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely perfect, I wish I could have stayed longer. Also, Ollanta is the most charming town.
7.0 Good
Pros: Fantastic location just a few minutes walk from center of town and ruins. Beautiful garden/grounds and view from room. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast was ok, but pretty limited. When we arrived, we had to wait ages before someone answered the doorbell.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely sunny garden next to the river with hammocks and seating, surrounded by the mountains and you can just about see the edge of the Ollantaytambo ruins. A pleasant, short walk to the main plaza along pretty cobbled streets or beside the river. Friendly staff and the place was very clean and tidy. Good feather duvets for the cold nights.
Cons: The breakfast provided was lacking compared to other places we have stayed. There was the bare minimum - such as a boiled egg and a roll each, small portion sizes for what was available. Wi-Fi only available in the common areas. The river outside is rather loud but we had no problem sleeping through this after long days trekking/walking etc.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff and very beautiful location at the river.
Cons: Internet did not work inside our room but worked in the outdoor and lounge area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really beautiful place, quiet and a little bit away from the city center
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Could not be better Location just perfecto
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, warm bed, great views.
Cons: We asked for a bath but the room only had a shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a great place to stay at. We had some travel issues which prevented us from staying longer in Ollantaytombo. The room was clean and spacious, centrally located and the staff were nice.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I liked the five minute walk to the station which was convenient for me as I was leaving early. The staff at reception was really helpful and friendly, the breakfast people, not so. The room was clean and the bathroom was very spacious with a good shower. What I really liked about the place was the fact that I could hear the sound of running water, a small stream passing at the back of the property which my room faced onto. It had a very calming and peaceful affect. I wish there had been more instructions inside the room for example how to operate the TV. And overall though it was a very comfortable place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the quiet area, but still walking distance to everythin. We were surprised to be there for the town anniversary ..very special to see

Pros: Loved the charm of the hotel and the area. Guidebooks of the area and filtered water and tea were available in the lobby. Garden and hammocks were welcoming. Made to order breakfast was a treat.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is nice. Immersed in a garden. Silent and tranquil.
Cons: No hot water in my room. While they have breakfast, sarting at 7.30 is too late.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Garden, attention, breakfast (fresh fruit, eggs, coffee, fresh bread). Clean rooms, staff, laundry service (5 soles per kilo).
Cons: The surrounding of this lodge was absolutely gorgeous. The attention amazing. Just be aware that you must walk with your luggage down a narrow sidewalk over Cobblestone to get to the location. For a good 100 yards. Call ahead so they can meet you with a bike to carry your suitcases which we were not aware of. Because I did not know this, we carried our suitcases which was very difficult. But we all agree, we loved staying here.

7.1 Good
Pros: Comfortable room Nice staff Good breakfast
Cons: Location (a little hidden and many homeless dogs on the street) Internet worked badly
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were awesome to include Markos who is one of the hardest working people I had ever seen and Carla who also assisted us from start to finish. The room was large with 3 beds, the price was great and the location was great and quiet. You could not hear the rooms above you, which was great.
Cons: The altitude does not need it, but the place does not have AC/heater or something to create white noise if you like that to fall asleep.
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. There is a man in the front desk who speaks English.
Cons: Far from the center of Ollantaytambo.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything else! The staff, the breakfast, the quirky decor
Cons: Location could be better but it's a small town. It was at the edge a bit. Maybe a 15 min walk to the town square.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean. Well run. Excellent food. Friendly staff. Perfectly located for the train to Machu Picchu.
Cons: A bit of a walk up hill to town. Not enough space to unpack in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. The staff was very helpful.
Cons: Bed California King size bed was too large for the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. Scrambled eggs, bread, jams, yogurt, orange juice. Always more than I could eat. Freddie or his wife would have the breakfast ready for me at whatever time I told them the day before. The location is good, just a short walk from the main square and the train station.
Cons: I was in room 8 and my only complaint is that there was no screen in the bathroom window. I was concerned about mosquitoes coming in so I kept the bathroom door closed. However, I never did see a mosquito.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to train station and walk to square and monuments. Very friendly staffs who cared like a family. Excellent. Parking at the hotel is bonus.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property was very cute and so enjoyable to hear the river all night instead of traffic noise. It is 3 minutes walking away from the train station where you catch the train for Machu Picchu. The owner was very kind and she helped us with additional needs including finding garlic to help with a cold and leaving a take out breakfast for us to take to our 5:00am train to Machu Picchu. The next morning breakfast in the hotel was full and delicious and they made it at the time that was best for us.
Cons: Our one difficulty was with the shower, and although it seems standard to be unable to maintain a consistent water temperature in showers in Peru in general, this one fluctuated quickly between freezing and scalding and had the additional downside of a window in the wall of the shower that didn’t entirely cover the hole in the wall, so you had cold air coming from outside into the shower. Brrrrrr!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The close proximity to the train station in ollantaytambo. The great service by Luis I think is his name, he stayed late to receive us and woke up late w breakfast bags for us. The place may not look too much but is a hidden treasure...
Cons: The stand in the bed covers. But the place is perfect for a stay in ollantaytambo near the train stop.
6.7 Good
Pros: Close to train station, very clean and good breakfast.
Cons: No hot water for shower, difficulty checking in - had prearranged check in time but door was locked and had to knock 4 times and phone for before someone let us in.

Pros: Wonderful place at the Vale Sagrado, only a few kms from Ollantaytambo. Tony was a perfect host and also took us to close-by local cervezaria, very cool too. Rooms are amazing, nice view, well served breakfast too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is perfect, couldn’t be better
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The location of the place is between the mountains and the Urubamba river, which makes it so relaxing. The room was sparkling clean with very nice details. That also goes for the bathroom. The common areas are very well maintained with an amazing view of the sacred valley. The breakfast was very delicious and the fresh made pizzas were the cherry of the cake. Communication with the owner (Tony) was very fast and he helped us to get transportation around. I would definitely come back!
Cons: It is very difficult to find something you don't like from this place. It was a very pleasant experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was amazing and the views from the cabin are incredible. The owner was super helpful with booking us taxis and packing us food before our train to Macchu Picchu. Perfect place to relax in the mountains away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Easy to book excursions to Chinchero, Urubamba, and other nearby sites. Highly recommend!

6.0 Good
Pros: View from upstairs
Cons: Room size , poor furnishings, very small bathroom
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Check-out 10:00AM, no way to contact front desk, other than walk down from the third floor. Amenities were marginal.

Pros: Cleanliness, location, ambiance
Cons: None
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Romantic setting with beautiful mountain views. Nice rooms and good breakfast.
Cons: Not a problem for us, but it’s about a 15 minute walk to town and the ruins.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good staff and nice breakfast. Atmosphere is perfect!!
Cons: Poor WIFI
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location right near town and train station. Clean, comfortable and beautiful property.
6.7 Good
Pros: The proximity to the train station (5 mins walk) and to the archeological site (10 mins walk) make it ideal if you are stopping by on the way from/to Machu Picchu. The gardens are the most beautiful part of the hotel and are very well kept, with raised terraces from which you get a lovely view of the surroundings mountains and site. The room is spacious, bathroom was clean. The breakfast was good.
Cons: The garden has no service whatsoever. Many cosy sitting areas for what? Why not add a bar somewhere on the top terrace? So you can enjoy the view while sipping a beer?! The breakfast lounge is a bit outdated, as much as the nearby living rooms. The whole place is poorly designed. There is NEVER staff around to offer you a drink or snack. Nothing. We came back from sightseeing around 11 and went to the indoor bar on the first floor (the design is simply atrocious) sat there for 20 minutes, no one showed up. I mean... why having a bar in the hotel if there is no one working there?? The place has a LOT of potential, they should invest more in the garden (and general) service rather than the up keeping of its greenery ROOM TIP: if you get the n 35 change it. Overlooks two parking lots from both windows!!!!!!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A unique and boutique hotel in a large complex and quite spacious. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great with wide selection of food. I lost my hat and they forwarded it to Cusco the next day. So the service was excellent.
