Oakland Motels

Pros: Convenient location, quiet and spacious rooms, nice personnel.

Cons: Some of the room accessories could be improved, eg where to lay down a piece of luggage or where to hang a coat.

Pros: The owners were really lovely and welcoming

Pros: The hotel was centrally located, the proprietor was polite and honest, and the room was clean, neat and sparely appointed. It was just what I needed. If I stayed in Oakland again, I would stay rebook at this hotel.

Pros: Location... close to airport

Cons: Overall terrible...bugs and ats...no towers...and the dresser had dirty plywood as top!

Pros: The desk person was nice and helpful. The outside of the property is very clean. Parking was good and easy. Internet is good only on the top floor.

Cons: The rooms were DIRTY!

Cons: Cramped, poor lighting.

Pros: Had a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave.

Cons: No bath towel on first night. Did not replenish coffee. Toilet not entirely clean. A/C like sleeping with a turbine engine in the room. Had to turn it off to sleep. Bed very hard.

Pros: The staff are super-friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, and remodeled. New paint, really pretty bedspread, clean and remodeled bathroom, nice giant tv w/ satellite! It has everything you need for a short stay. A quick walk to some really cool and trendy places. Right across the street from the park. Great if you're coming for the Burger Boogaloo music fest. Only downside side was the incredibly hard bed.

Cons: Very hard bed. Could use some extra pillows. Only 2 hangers in the wardrobe.

Cons: The airconditioner is too noisy all night and the bed was hard.

Cons: Out of the lodge's control is the amount of homeless people sleeping in the park across the street.

Pros: Bed was perfect, firm mattress. Stayed in 3 places this vacation, amazing this motel had the best bed. Also stayed in room 120 on second floor. Good location, pretty quiet. No elevator, so provided us with lots of exercise! Across street from BART shuttle so easy access to transport to San Francisco. Close to Piedmont Ave with good restaurants, movie theater, groceries, urgent care, coffee shops, etc. Would love to visit again!

Cons: Weak water pressure.

Cons: I was told upon arrival my reservation was cancelled by me. But no one knew I ever booked a room there. I think they gave my room to another patron. The only room available was at a higher price. $169 is too much for a MOTEL. I wont ever book there again. EVER!

Cons: 4 night stay and for 3 nights tv didn’t work. Water barely dribbles from washbasin faucet. Screeching noise from bathroom extractor fan. Cigarette burn on sheet. Noise from the party upstairs. No shampoo. Yes I know it’s only a motel .... but for over $160 a night???

Cons: This place looks like the highway divide it from Oakland Gheto... But its super scary here anyway. Groups of not so simpatic people are around all the time. drug dealing in the parking lot. And dentures driving in the parking lot! The hotel telling you to lock the door of the room for your own safety! so much cameras around feels like prison! So you think that's all... but the room smelles like cigarettes. the sheets full of cigarettes holes!! The shower was full of past people hair. disgusting! Also. the cards to unlock the room are not working. had to change them every day. The picture in the website are totally misleading! there were groups of guys drinking around. Do o not come here!

Pros: Location is great for doing business in the east bay. Super convenient to Oakland.

Cons: The room was pretty awful, furniture was sketchy, bathroom was dirty. It was a roof overhead and a mattress but not much more. I've stayed at the property years ago and it was more typical Motel 6, not plush but comfortable. Won't be back.

Pros: The new ownership renovated the property bottom up, giving it the much-needed face-lift! They're slowly continuing to make improvements to the place in order to make it look more contemporary.

Cons: As I stated above, the owners are slowly continuing to renovate the property, therefore certain amenities are in the process of being upgraded like room furniture. And they could offer a wider variety of television viewing channels. Just an fyi, all the rooms have showers only.

Pros: I only intended to stay overnight, but my plans changed and the staff was very accommodating.

Pros: The motel staff was very accomodating a d friendly. The room was very clean and had been recently renovated with nice hardwood floors, fresh paint on the walls and ceiling, multiple electrical outlets throughout the room and bathroom and the largest flat screen TV I have ever seen in a hotel room. The neighborhood is very nice, quiet and safe. At midnight I was hungry and I went for a walk to find some food and I felt completely safe.

Cons: My only complaint is about the very loud neighbors in the room next to mine. They were constantly walking in and out of their room and passing by my window, arguments could be heard constantly. At one point I had actually fallen asleep but was suddenly woke up by someone pounding on my door extremely loudly. When I opened the door it was two police officers asking if I was was ok and that someone had reported a disturbance. I explained that I was sleeping and that the source of the disturbance wasn't me but the people next door and the officers then went to speak with them. All was fine so I thought until a few hours later when a child starts crying loudly and then the sounds of someone hitting the child repeatedly. I immediately called the manager to report this and heard the manager in a loud profane argument telling them to stop disturbing people.

Pros: The bed is basically a box spring, super hard & stiff. Pretty feels like I laid on a cement slab.

Pros: The rooms were recently painted and generally clean and the shower was clean and the shower curtain was clean. There is good lighting! There are electrical plugs and lighting for each side of the bed. The shower was clean and had good pressure. The sheets were pretty new looking - no holes and not raggedy. The bed quilt was lightweight and new looking, which was nice. The bath towels were relatively soft and not stained. There is off-street parking. The bed is fairly comfortable. Microwave and mini-fridge were handy. The heater worked, but didn't seem to work perfectly, as it didn't go off at the set temperature. The room didn't have unpleasant smells that many 2 star motels have. The shower/toilet area were spacious and there are windows that can be opened in the main room and the bathroom.

Cons: The ONLY furniture is a bed and one nightstand. So, I had to put my book, glasses, watch, etc. on the floor when I went to sleep. We had to put our suitcases and jackets on the floor or hang jackets on the TV, the door hinge, the window latch, as there is NO place to put jackets, and it was cold and rainy, so we had jackets. A second nightstand and a long bench on which we could put suitcases would be helpful. Also, some place to hang jackets and toiletry bags would be nice. There was no hand towel and the bathmats in both rooms I've occupied were stained or dirty. A door mat, to wipe feet before going in the room would be helpful and keep the room cleaner. In one of the rooms the plumbing from other rooms made a lot of noise. In the other room that was not an issue. Street noise came right into the room, as the doors don't fit well. We could also hear neighbors talking more than is good. Check-in took a long time.

Cons: Finish updating rooms. For example, complete the remodel in bathrooms, replace cracked floor tiles, upgrade electric plugs keeping in mind that customers should not have unplug one appliance to plug in another.

Pros: Nice staff. I asked for a smoking room, and they warned me it was an "old-style" room - it hadn't been remodeled. The room was as they described - old furniture, etc - but very clean.

Cons: Checked out after 1 night & asked for a refund for the 2nd night. I notified the hotel early in the day for checkout & a refund for the 2nd night. A worker that answered assured me that i was going to get a refund only for the manager on site to say no.

Cons: Booked the room online, got the confirmation mail, went to the property and they refused to honor the booking, saying they had been full for weeks.

Cons: The bathtub/shower,,,the water handles were difficult to sustain warm waters,,,it was either, too hot,, or too cold!

Pros: Coming in to acquire my room. I was meet with the nicest smile. I had no problem getting checked in and a key card to my room

Cons: The person I had contact with arriving and checking in was so nice and professional. She made my check in easy and understanding. She needs a raise!

Cons: The room isn’t good maintenance for the price we paid was too much. We got the room smell of smoke. The AC kinda old the switches was broken and dirty. :(
