The cleanliness of the hotel, the buffet type breakfast, the courtesy of the staff, its proximity from time square, its comfort.
As we were going to breakfast, we put the do not disturb sign on the door. The cleanjng lady saw it and asked us if we did not want our room cleaned. We answered yes but not now. A little bit later as we are going down for breakfast and coming up. She said ok I understand. When we left the hotel for the day, we took off the sign but when we returned, the roon was not made at all.
Enjoyed the area-close to subway, restaurant and a Times Square.
Some furniture needs replacing-old and wore out. Bed was comfy though and room was large.
They kept my bags until check in time and the next day they kept them until we were ready to leave the city. Staff was friendly!
Great Choice Near Theaters, Times Square, The Rock and Subways
Great choice for us near theaters, Times Square, Rockefeller Center and Subways. The room was comfortable, including the bed. The breakfast was good, including eggs that were changed up every day to offer variety. The staff was very helpful. The hotel was affordable offering an excellent value. We also enjoyed some of the restaurants nearby. The Broadway shows we went to were easy walking distance (from a half block to five minutes away). We would come back here again.
The bathrooms are a little small and the hotel hallways need some updating.
Everything was great! We stayed at the Roosevelt down the road a few days before and surprisingly with the way that the Roosevelt tries to advertise itself, The Hampton Inn was much better in quality.
It was okay
The location was perfect for us. We needed to catch an early plane the next day and we were able to get there within 20 minutes.
The rooms were clean as well as to be expected for a NYC hotel. They weren't anything spectacular. The real issue I had was the staff at the front desk. They had an attitude when checking us in and when we first walked up, we had to wait for the ladies to finish their conversation before anyone would assist us. The conversation wasn't even work related. If you want a place to stay for a night or two then it's okay.
Check it out!
Friendly helpful staff. Clean. Good location.
Staff was friendly & helpful; room was clean; breakfast was good.
Room was just adequate in size & was a little dark. Desk area could have been brighter to facilitate work.
Hampton inn review
I liked the proximity to Times Square. The rooms were comfortable and Hampton inn staff were able to satisfy my requests. They have free breakfast and had coffee, tea, and hot chocolate free 24 hours. I also liked that our luggage was stored meanwhile we explored the last couple hours in New York.
It was expensive for 2 nights since the stay was from 12/31/15-1/2/16. Some of the staff could have been friendlier to other people. Breakfast had long lines and the dinning area was not big enough to fit everyone. Overall, this is a pretty good hotel. Would stay here again.
For the city, the room was nice sized. The lady I was traveling with is obsessed with bed bugs and insisted we flip up the mattress for inspection, lol. Mattress and linens were imaculate. Bath was clean. Breakfast was decent.
A bench to smoke outside would have been lovely.
Clean, friendly atmosphere, great location
My one night stay room was upgraded. It wouldn't affect me much but the large room, thoroughly clean, and the great ventilation made for a good night's sleep. The location in the city is perfect for Hell's Kitchen / restaurant row dining. Unlike other inns or hotels I've been to around the city, this one seemed exceptionally clean and new. Staff was friendly and helpful. The check out time (noon) is also a huge plus. The front lounge seems ideal for getting some work done or catching up with a friend (with comp. coffee, tea, hot chocolate). I'm very pleased with the inn, surprised even that it met and surpassed initial expectations, and will definitely stay again.
I reserve one star for facilities only because I stayed for one night and didn't get to see much. Otherwise, perfect!
