The beautiful old building had lots of character being in a former bank.
We had quite a few issues with things not working in the room and the housekeeping was a bit hit and miss with them either not servicing the room or not replenishing everything when they did.
Bed very comfy. Good price for New Orleans.
Not able to look out window.
The breakfast was basic but sufficient and served by a very nice staff member . The location couldn't have been better . We used the trolly cars to get around which was great . A lot of the places were within walking distance but the hotel was fairly quiet
ADA rooms horrific...tiny...double bed only...frosted tiny window to noisy elevator or aircon shaft...aircon vents located behind wardrobe (in both room 414 & 614) slippery floor, cracked, dirty in bathroom...no shelves in shower...water, coffee, shampoo etc not replaced daily...originally booked king suites x 2...on arrival we discovered steps in the room not suitable for walking issues with shower over bathtub with no hand rails...if you check their deluxe ada rooms you see a totally different picture...why weren't we placed in one of these...no we had the worst rooms i have ever stayed in...it was embarrassing to bring my 3 guests to this accommodation...i don't know how anyone with a wheelchair could cope...i find the whitney hotel ada rooms a joke...talk about discrimination...i am yet to deal with the prices i have been charged but will have to do that on my return as need to continue my journey...very unhappy mature auusie lady...
Good location Staff were amazing especially the lady who checked us in the knowledge that she had omg!!!
Laundry cost me $80 for a little bit of washing. $12 for 1 pair of undies not good and they did not explain how it worked and were not helpful in resolving it.
The Whitney Hotel is located in a building that was initially built as a bank all the way back in 1910. Now, the historic landmark houses 93 guest rooms and offers a refined, traditional hotel for guests to stay in. Much of the old bank's architecture and stylings were preserved during the hotel's renovation. Guests will still be able to see the bank's original vault at the hotel. Also, many of the brass moldings and other designs are still present in the hotel. Close to the French Quarter and other amazing attractions, guests are sure to enjoy a stay at this hotel.
Each of the stylish, classic rooms offers modern accommodations like cable TV and free WiFi. Coffeemakers are also offered in each room. Meanwhile, the rooms provide guests with gorgeous private bathrooms filled with marble interiors. Guests enjoying a stay in a suite will be provided with extra living space: the suites add a separate sitting room for guests to use. Suites also offer pullout sofas that offer guests extra sleeping accommodations if they need them.
The hotel houses an elegant bar and bistro restaurant. The restaurant contains original columns from the bank's architecture, and brightly painted murals cover the restaurant's walls from top to bottom. The restaurant serves classic, Creole cuisine to give every guest a bite of New Orleans. The bank's former vault now offers guests a private dining room to enjoy their meal in a unique area. A gym is also featured in the hotel for guests to use.
