A warm welcome awaited us in this cozy hostel. Located only minutes from the Nagasaki railway station, and trams, we found it well positioned for our short stay. The staff were lovely and helpful, offering suggestions as to how to see the city in a short time and also recommending restaurants, including where to try the famous Nagasaki Champon noodle soup dish. Yum! Our room was located below ground level. It was basic but clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The space was apartment size with two bedrooms, each with beds to sleep three. There was a kitchenette, dining table, couch and the shower room had a washing machine, The toilet was located outside the room, which was a bit weird but fine.
The toilet being located at bottom of stairs from hostel's front entrance.
It's listed as a family room, but it also works for groups of friends. The location was perfect, located a few mins walk from the station. It's located in the basement, so there's a private entrance. The beds were comfortable, and the divider in between gives a decent amount of privacy for both sides. The staff was very nice and there's a whole cafe on the second floor. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking and there's a big dining room table which was really nice.
You have to climb a bit of a hill to get there, so be prepared when carrying heavy luggage. The toilet is located across the hall from the main room, which is only a minor inconvenience. Also, the shower has a kind of rustic feel, but overall it was a nice place to stay!
The staff were very nice. We had the family room which sleeps 6. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was nice. We really enjoyed the hand ground coffee in the morning. We ate breakfast in the cafe, sandwich and soup. Food was great and filled us up for our day.
Toilet was in a separate room just outside the sleeping room, a little chilly at night. The heated toilet seat was much appreciated.
steep uphill road to hotel. narrow staircase to rooms, inconvenient with heavy luggages. single lavatory.
Great little hostel on the hill opposite to the train station. The best thing about this place is the staff members who show so much love and care, which makes you feel very welcome. The beds are separated with walls, meaning everyone gets a lot of privacy. Common space is small but you can’t really ask for more from a hostel. They also run a lovely cafe downstairs. There is a church, a monument and a museum, all for the 26 Christian Martyrs of Nagasaki, right next to the hostel. You can see the church (which has a unique design) from you room. A great view!
People who hate climbing the hill and narrow stairs between the floors will not like this place. I’m fine with it, but I can imagine if I’m older I might have problems.
