Food was great
Stairs were too steep
The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The maid/cook was very nice.
The owner or manager of the place was not very friendly. He was cold and never apologized for any of the inconveniences of the broken door, the television not working and the sloppy mess we walked into when we arrived. Granted that the door got fixed (while preventing us from getting in and out of the room), the television was working after calling him to come over to take care of the situation (which made him even grumpier and when we asked if there were any movie channels, he reprimanded us by saying, ‘Who do you think we are? A 5 Star hotel? We are only 2 star so why would you expect movie channels!’ and then walked out of the room!) And we did arrive a little earlier than we expected (even though they should have had their act together by the time we did). But the place smelled like chemicals from the cleaning products and our bed was not made. The sheets and towels were cheap and we only got one towel and one face cloth each (I like using the hand towels). One of the windows didn't have a screen so bugs got in. The next morning, we walked into the kitchen and we see the maid/cook swatting a bee on the counter! Ok, I understand that they can be trouble but that was not something I wanted to see as we are going to get breakfast especially that bees are very valuable to our environment. She was a sweet person though. Her pancakes need some help but the pure maple syrup helped. The omelet was good but I asked for no ham and got it anyway (misunderstanding - language barrier) The croissants could have used a few more minutes in the oven but then again, I’m a chef. So definitely a 2 star establishment.
Iit is a great location. Very central for walking to all the popular attractions and close to public transit. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
There is no elevator. There are 2 very steep narrow staircases to carry up luggage. This would not be ideal for people that can't manage stairs or heavy lifting.
Nice breakfast served on the terrace, room size ok, bathroom size ok, excellent wi.fi
Room facing on the Street quite noisy, rough towels, narrow entrance
Food was great! We had lots of room for the 5 of us. Our unit was private and secure. The people were fantastic!
Our bed wasn’t the most comfortable but worked for the time we were there.
