Hotel d'Aragon - Montpellier - Building
1
9.1 Excellent (182 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hôtel d'Aragon, you'll be centrally located in Montpellier, steps from Place de la Comedie and within a 5-minute walk of Polygone Shopping Center. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is very good as it's close to Place de la Comedie and there is parking available nearby which is not too expensive. The driving instructions on the hotel website were useful.
Cons: It could have been a bit more welcoming at breakfast and we are always looking for good teabags as we prefer tea to coffee. Tea and coffee in the room would also have been good but wasn't available.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1 minutes walk from the centre, this hotel has only just come under new management and our hosts could not have been more helpful. We hope their venture is a success.
Cons: Parking in Montpellier is a nightmare. The local Council of Montpellier clearly do not like cars. Parking is a short walk from the hotel in the underground car park of the Triangle shopping Center. To be honest, access to this car park by road or foot is pretty iffy, by road it is an absolute maze of one way streets and dingy often scary underpasses and by foot its not the sort of place you would want to hang around in for longer than absolutely necessary. Its a shame but this would discourage me from ever visiting Montpellier again.
7.5 Good
Pros: Stylish room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our flight was considerably delayed and we were unable to make the 11pm check in time, they stayed behind to check us in which removed a great deal of worry, thank you!! .

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely place and very friendly and helpful owners! Just a 5 Min walk to the old city center. Although the building is relativelly old, the rooms are clean and have their own individual charm. We could really recommend staying in this hotel! Lovely greetings!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It's a chic hotel, close to main attractions, old fashion furniture (we love the style). The people from there are more than great! Hope to come back someday.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent for exploring. Breakfast a little limited but delightful staff.
Oceania Montpellier - Montpellier - Bar
2
8.9 Excellent (2,285 reviews)
Overview Reviews
"This character hotel, ideally located in the centre of Montpellier just 2 minutes walk from the Place de la Comdie and and 50 m from the Gare St Roch tram stop, is discovering a new lease of life. We reopened the 26th of December 2016.After a year of extensive work, rediscover the 4-star Oceania Le Mtropole hotel since 26th December. The hotel successfully blends charm with modernity, with a light touch of exoticism, in the spirit of the great Belle Epoque luxury establishments. Behind its majestic faade, the hotel boasts a brand new area devoted to well-being with a hammam, fitness room, massage and a range of treatments, and the relaxation extends through to the Jacuzzi and swimming pool, bordered by the gardens palm trees, providing welcome shade for the terrace. From the hotels entrance and lobby, through the cosy English bar and La Closerie restaurant, not forgetting the prestigious lounges, the decoration has been completely restyled to restore all the venues former panache and character. The high ceilings, frescoes featuring romantic cherubs and prestigious parquet flooring have all been totally renovated to re-establish all the prestige of this magnificent 4-star hotel located right in the heart of Montpellier. Light is everywhere from the broad glass roof of the restaurant to the majestic stairway in the lobby, perfectly showcased by a magnificent and elegant suspension that floats in the air. As you wander the corridors, escaped budgerigars from the high glass roof are perched along the walls, inviting guests to continue their visit to our 96 rooms and suits. The decoration is personalised for each type of room, paying tribute to the different times of day: the warmth of the southern sunshine, a subtle blend of oranges and purples evoking a stunning late afternoon, or the enveloping gentleness of midnight blue and copper of the setting sun. "
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic, you’re a stones throw away from the main square, with an abundance of amazing restaurants and bars on your doorstep. The room was clean, quiet and reasonably equipped. The pool was a decent size, and well kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Although they state they have parking, it is very limited - make sure you call up and reserve. It is also quite tricky to find on GPS due to Montpellier’s many one way systems. I expected more facilities in our room, it was lacking teas coffees etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What’s not to like? Very comfortable bed, ice cold air con, separate toilet to bathroom, wonderful shower, very nice public areas and swimming pool.
Cons: No kettle in room so had to try to make tea using the coffee machine.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely atmosphere great location
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant hotel in an ideal location to explore Montpellier. Staff were very efficient and our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Cons: We were informed on booking that we could not reserve a car parking space but this seemed to be over-observed, as when we arrived there appeared to be some reluctance even then to guarantee us a space, despite us being temporarily parked v close. Whilst we were given instructions as to how to get to the car park, it would have been preferable to have been issued some simple written instructions (in English) as to how to get past the pedestrian bollards and then enter the car park entrance.

Pros: The hotel was excellent value for money. We travelled to see a women's world cup match and the stadium was an easy stroll from the hotel. The tram connection to the centre of town was also within easy walking distance and very cheap. Staff were very welcoming. Altogether a very good experience.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike the hotel was beyond our expectations/
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a great little dog friendly Hôtel we found for a stop over on our trip to Spain. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast very good for the price.
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was fairly small but it was comfortable and clean. The room was on the ground floor so it was easy to access. The parking area was secure and easy to access if I had studied the map more closely.
Cons: There were few options for an evening meal in the area. The location is problematic. We chose it because we needed to leave early and avoid traffic but it did mean that we were out of the centre.
Boutique Hotel Baudon de Mauny - Montpellier - Bedroom
4
8.8 Excellent (265 reviews)
Overview Reviews
This centuries-old townhouse in the heart of Montpellier somehow condenses the palatial dimensions of a country château into a five-bedroom city-centre boutique hotel. Spread over two floors, Baudon de Mauny's sprawling bedrooms couple period features and ornate 18th-century plasterwork with Cole & Son wallpapers, swish modern furniture and a cutting-edge sense of style.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully restored, lovely architecture.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magical athmosphere - old beatiful aristhoratic rooms with modern designer pieces. Experience!
Cons: I liked everything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property is absolutely beautiful. It is a historical building in the old city and the suite we stayed at was just breathtaking and incredibly roomy. The common areas are also gorgeous & since the hotel isn’t crowded with only a couple rooms, you feel like you have the whole house to yourself. Attention to detail in the decor makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time.
Cons: There is no room service or restaurant other than a very simple breakfast on request. The property is more like an Airbnb with a concierge service (which didn’t bother us because it is one of the most beautiful properties in Montpellier) but for the price we would have preferred those added services. No lift (which is to be expected from a historical building) but good to be aware of beforehand.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing Beautiful Fantastic art So relaxing in the heart of the city
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really good communication before our stay, excellent quality rooms.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very comfortable, bathroom shower was great, the hairdryer was very good, and there was lots of hot water. All things needed for a good stay.
Cons: Getting the luggage up the stairs into the reception area is a little difficult but the young woman was very helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I didn’t have breakfast as I ate in cafes in Montpellier. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and I loved being only a few minutes walk from everything.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A great place to stay for independent travellers.

Pros: Great hotel, super friendly staff and very close to the center. During check-in, the staff provided us with loads of tips to do in the city. Sports for lunch and dinner were provided, at first we felt it being a little bit commercial, but once we walked by the places we realized they just truly give good tips and want to make sure you have the best time!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I ( freshly married !) were stopping off in Montpellier on our way from Toulouse to beyond Nice and were met with a lovely welcome and use of the car park ( underground and well worth it ) , nice room and a lovely gesture a bottle of very good wine and a congratulation note on our marriage - we didnt drink it at the hotel as we had no corkscrew but a lovely start to our stay . We arrived at 7.30pm so we found a quaint square within walking distance where there were a number of bars and restaurants and a nice atmosphere , a guy playing guitar and sat under an awning and had a beer and wine and ate a tasty meal just people watching and relaxing - we were greeted at breakfast by another very friendly lady and a comprehensive breakast to set us up for our onward journey , I just wish we could have stayed longer and thoroughly recommened this hotel for location , ambience and delightful and welcoming staff !!
Cons: nothing

6.3 Good
Pros: this place is fine. It’s clean, quiet
Cons: Little bit of a walk to town and not huge rooms
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice large room with comfortable beds , decent size TV and good wifi. Good variety for breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing!
4.6 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good.
Cons: The hotel stuff promised me a courtyard side room, so I’ve chosen this hotel. Yet reception lady gave me a street-side Standard Double Room and she claimed that she had no other free room available. In ten minutes she gave other guests a courtyard side Standard Double Room. I'd shown her my reservation of Superior Double Room (with Balcony) and asked to call a director. After that she gave me a Superior Double Room (with Balcony), a street-side anyway. So, I’ve been hearing the cars and people all night.
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fine. Location was also convenient, although in a quiet area it is only a short walk into the old town of Montpellier. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean.
Cons: Nothing in particular not liked.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff and breakfast was top notch
Cons: No easy access to drop of luggage. Very confusing to get to the door.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is unbeatable Very clean rooms Booked a triple room and it was great to have a single bed in a room that was a bit separate. Good use of space Aircon worked very well Spacious bathroom
Cons: Rooms are dark - better lights or diffirent decor would go a long way
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice design of the rooms, great location, superb view and historic building.
Cons: Renovations touched only rooms itself, hope soon common areas will be also restored. Because they looks a lil tired. The bad thing is that when a arrived no one even tried to help me with my bags. I never need it, but intention is important. As well that part of reception staff are not much welcome...
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location just on the main square with bars and restaurants a plenty. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We parked in the place de la comedie which is under the main square (take the road leading underground) this worked really well. Car was fine there all night. A short walk to the hotel.
Cons: The bed was really uncomfortable - rather lumpy - pillows were also really really soft - your face kind of disappears!! Not the end of the world and we didn’t bother asking for a different pillow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed before most years. Staff, location, rooms and breakfast options are excellent. Very high standard décor and air con is quiet. Convenient parking in Place de Comedie
Cons: Nothing - everything was excellent
8.8 Excellent

Pros: It’s the fourth time for us at this central hotel in Montpellier. We like the position and the atmosphere.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, staff were friendly, brilliant location amongst all the action, great little coffee machine in the roof. Rooms very different in decor to the average hotel room, very spacious with high stud ceilings. Comfy beds.
Cons: Pillows were too soft and they didn’t offer any firmer ones. Ended up with a bad neck.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel accommodation is very elegantly appointed including the bar and linked brasserie. Location is fantastic for an old city and Antigone tour. Water and coffee in the room was much appreciated. Helpful staff, including services personnel.
Cons: Not an issue, but clearer directions for close proximity car parking is recommended.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is great for nearby parking facilities and also the station and the old town.
Cons: Rooms need to be modernised a little.

Pros: Everything! Especially beautiful spacious garden where breakfast can be enjoyed in the coolness of early morning.

Pros: Very nice rooms. Comfortable and a good size well equipped and clean.
Cons: Lacked character
7.1 Good
Pros: Quite
Cons: No good view, far from city center if you decide to walk, and the worst thing that you need to carry your luggage by yourself
6.7 Good
Pros: Nicely designed and clean hotel with beautiful green courtyard.
Cons: The location was too much off the city center. Nothing worth seeing in the neighbourhood. No dinner options nearby. Walking to the old city center was about half hour. Would not choose this hotel again, due to the location. Our room had bedbugs (I know, this can happen in the best hotels, but strangely, here nobody even bothered to respond when we informed them about the problem after checkout). Pillows were very uncomfortable (either rock hard or chunky). No pillow options available, which is something I would expect from a hotel of this price range. Check-in was a bit smug.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, comfortable, the pool a big plus. The breakfast is very expensive for what is on offer.
Cons: The pool, the quiet.
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: The noise of the AC
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool was very good; the planting round it and the views were excellent. beds very comfy and the room was very good particularly with the terrace outside. The staff made us very welcome and we came away very rested
Cons: Continental breakfast mostly consisted of bread and we didn't want to try the American one as it's not appetising to our English tastes! Didn't matter as the café across the courtyard sold fresh pastries

Pros: Staff was very nice. Facility modern and clean. Nice breakfast. Possibility to park the car in a underground garage just for 3€ the night. The hotel is less than 2 minutes walk from a stop of the 1 tram line that goes straight in the city center. Best Western Hotel Le Guilhem - Montpellier - Building
16
8.3 Excellent (814 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Best Western Hotel Le Guilhem is a hotel that has succeeded in preserving the charm of its 16th century architecture. Renovated with great care, this establishment is well-appointed with each room having its very own character. The rooms and large terrace provide fine views of Montpellier's small secretive gardens as well as the faculty of medicine founded in the 12th century. After this, you will be eager to set off and discover the city's heritage and the streets brimming over with history.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, very easy to go round and safe area. Staff was really helpful and breakfast was great!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A lovely, quiet room in an excellent location. Very nice breakfast terrace. Helpful staff.
Cons: There is a public car park 3 minutes on foot. I would not recommend trying to drive up to the hotel as the narrow streets and one-way systems make this tricky for newcomers to the area.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very helpful. Location perfect to wander aimlessly around the historic centre of Montpellier. It has arranged a good deal with the underground car park very close by. Warning: if visiting by car overnight then get directions to car park from Hotel because it is not possible to drive up to hotel door.
Cons: not applicable
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location, the service but really claustrophobic space
Cons: Nice and clean but very small room for such a price and given my expectations for Best Western standards
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 1. Great location in old town, but very quiet. Nice view from room 111. 2. Très bon accueil.
Cons: 1. The hotel website should make it clearer that you cant access rue JJ Rousseau at all by car. 2. Access to wifi was complicated. The paper with the codes was illegible and the wifi was slow. 3. Carpets in corridors and stairs need cleaning.
7.5 Good
Cons: Breakfast was not very interesting. Not as excepted. And wall to wall carpet on the room is not my cup of tea with all the dirt people can leave when they don't take off their shoes.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: location, air condition
Cons: We had a roach problem
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location. Breakfast on the terrace.

7.0 Good
Pros: almost everything is good
Cons: nothing
4.3 Okay
Pros: It was located in the old town and was close to everything.
Cons: The room was extremely small. So small there was no room for our bags and they had to go on the floor at the foot of the bed with a small patch for walking past.
6.3 Good
Pros: I quite liked the hotel situation. My room was fine but some our group found the rooms on the small side. The staff were very good and helpful.
6.3 Good

5.6 Okay
Pros: Very good location. Beautiful veranta for breakfast. The view of the gardens and old university is spectacular but from very few rooms only.
Cons: Not accessible by car. No elevator. The staff was not very friendly and there was a mistake done by the hotel during checking in, that was only announced to us when checking out in a quite rude way by the girl in the reception.
6.8 Good
Pros: great location in historic area
Cons:
7.2 Good
Pros: size and decor of rooms, hotel in a quiet location, but minutes walk from town centre.
Cons:

Ibis Montpellier Centre Comédie - Montpellier - Building

8.2 Excellent (4,182 reviews)
Overview Reviews
At the center of Montpellier, just a 2-min walk to Place de la Comédie, the hotel is ideally located for shopping or for taking a stroll around the pedestrian streets. The ibis Montpellier Centre Comédie hotel is perfect for business or family trips, with its large air- conditioned rooms, free WIFI, 24-hour bar and access to paying public car park. In just minutes you can walk to the Corum Conference Center, TGV train station, Opéra Comédie or historical district of Montpellier.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is ideally located in the Comédie area of Montpellier, so it is very close to many shops and main attractions. The rooms were very roomy and comfortable for the price, and the staff was helpful and friendly. The public parking garage has an arrangement with the hotel, so there is a reasonable rate for parking as well.
Cons: The only thing that comes to mind is that the breakfast buffet was rather basic compared to others we've been to for a similar price. Other than that, this is an excellent hotel that is ideally located.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect. Staff excellent. Room clean and quiet. Good breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy access to the hotel by bicycle. Staff was very accommodating in storing our bikes overnight. Location on the square made it accessible to sights and restaurants.
6.3 Good
Pros: Central location with underground parking. Comfortable bed, good shower and ok breakfast.
Cons: Security is tight at the hotel - video entry from underground car park and from the city entrance - this made it feel that the area was unsafe.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, 1min walking from the main square, 1min walking from a shopping mall with everything you need, 2min walking from a big super market and a bakery, 3min walking from the city centre. I.e. very convenient location. Other than that, the room was fine. Not magnificent but had plenty of space, a couch to sit (if you fancy), a small desk to place your stuff, air conditioning. There are a few parkings around that you can park you car (extra charges), we chose to park at the Polygon shopping mall (it's a mere 5min walk from the car to the hotel) and has very good prices for overnight (we paid something like 6-7 euros for a stay from 8pm-11am and around 10 euros for 15-16 hours of parking (overnight the majority that is very cheap)
Cons: Nothing in particular. Everything was what we expected from the hotel of the class (don't expect the Ritz, but it's good for the money you pay). The only thing that can be improved is to provide free parking for the customers given that it's very close to the pedestrianised city centre, you need a parking to park (street parking is not free in Montpellier and parking spaces are not very close). Though it's not expensive to park overnight in the nearby shopping mall.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at this hotel for one night to take a plane out the next morning. the hotel itself is very nice... Clean and centrally located... the receptionist was very helpful and provided us with a map. it is important for travellers to know that the old City is not open on Sundays....many Restaurants and most shops. The area around the plaza de la comedie is Less than what we expected...old town Montpellier appears to be in transition. This, of course, is not the fault of the hotel.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location, Price
Cons: Noice from street, Poor BF, there are no RF and safe in the room
7.5 Good
Pros: acceptable
Cons: one towel per person isn´t enough in the bathroom. Watwer pressure in the toilet isn´t working properly.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location, reception and bar open 24hr

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Effective and quiet aircon.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Unfortunately not alot
Cons: This was a very interesting stay, firstly the fact we arrived to our room to realise that there was a mere curtain separating the bedroom from the toilet. The rooms air con was a joke we spent most of then night unable to sleep. The fact our room also had random unsealed windows in the shower. Seriously I thought I’d seen it all until I hit this ibis. Th shower had a windows in it meaning they had simply done some dodgy shower fit on a wall not meant for a shower.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The air-conditioning wasn't good enough to keep the room cool
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel, great location, close to city center. Parking available on the street (good cost).
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to railway station (10 minutes walking) and to the city center (also 10 minutes walking). Friendly and professional staff with excellent English. Comfortable bed. Fair price.
Cons: Bathroom door missing (I guess it was broken and had been removed). Small room. I don’t like the these “special hotel TV remote controls” where the function to change the the audio language is missing.
6.7 Good
Pros: Beds are comfy, AC works, overall hotel looks pretty new and clean.
Cons: It’s been said numerous time on the reviews but the showers don’t drain the water properly in the « Italian » shower, which results in having water flowing everywhere in the bathroom. This is pretty stupid in the sense that it’s not hygienic, adds more non necessary work for the people who have to clean everyday. Rooms are tiny for the price you pay and you don’t even get a kettle, or worse not even a socket next to the bed in order to charge your phone. The only ones available are located inconveniently under the desk, far away from the bed....
7.9 Good
Pros: 2 minutes to the center, open veranda, nice hotel bar
Cons: expensive breakfast, only two sockets (under table) in the room, very small bathroom
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Staff, room, no ac, parking was expensive
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. 2 minute walk from the centre. Perfect
Cons: Parking extra cost
5.4 Okay
Pros: Only the location.
Cons: The non smoking room was disgustingly smelly. No door only a curtain on the bathroom which was embarrassing. Stern non smiling staff. I really hated staying here. Awful
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The lady on the coffee bar was very pleasant and attentive.
