Quality Inn Montgomery South

The front desk staff were extremely friendly and polite. I could see the breakfast area from the check-in desk and it looked immaculate. The room was very basic but seemed clean enough, the pillows were small for the bed size, but the bed was comfortable.

When I arrived, the smell of mildew hit my nose as soon as I opened my car door. I was near the pool so attributed it to that and decided to carry on as I was only there for an quick overnight rest to split up a long drive. The multiple cameras on full view at the check-in desk and the key card locks for every doorway were a nice security touch but made the place feel super sketchy. As stated prior, the room was clean enough but that being said, I felt like I didn't want to put my bare feet on the carpet or floor. My room was also non-smoking but the smell of marijuana constantly infiltrating my space was frustrating. In fairness, I did not give the staff a chance to remedy the situation but calling the desk, switching rooms, etc seemed like a really big hassle, plus I didn't want to anger the indulging guest(s), so I decided to just leave. Despite there technically being nothing wrong with this budget hotel (other than the airhead down the hall), the overall feel of it was neutral for me, at best.

Location was conveniently close to the airport.

All the fees added on to the nightly rate.
