Super friendly homey family owned hostel! Support the locals, have THE BEST VIEW ever (literally, you see to the Pacific and the house is right next to nature but only a 5 min walk to town), great common areas and terrace, breakfast included and they are super helpful with anything. Was at selinas before and if you do not need the newest fanciest designs this hostel is so much better, simply for location, view and vibes!
Beautiful homey hostel, they could improve some little things like bed light, some shelves to put stuff in but it really is no biggie
The cozy and welcome feeling of the whole property. The family is really nice and helpful! I asked them a lot of questions about busses and all and they were always willing to help. Also the wall paintings make everything better, so colourful! Also the breakfast, very good. Homemade every morning by the owners!
Everything was very good! The only thing was that there was no warm water in the shower, which would have been nice since it can be cold in Santa Elena.
Breakfast was awesome! The stuff is super nice and helpfull. We felt very comfortable and would recommend the hostel to everyone!
I loved the staff, the location, and the view. The hostel is located a little outside, but within walking distance of the main part of the city. This is a plus. As others have mentioned, it is a family run operation. Each morning people filter into the kitchen/dining area to enjoy a home cooked breakfast of Gallo Pinto, fried plantains, pineapple, ect while watching the horses come out to pasture. The sunset overlooking the gulf is fantastic. I recommend the night tour, Fast Food Los Alvarados, and a smaller cloud forest recommended by the staff that was less tourist packed than the main reserve. Parking was free and easy.
No real complaints. It was raining too hard to find the Cyprus tree on the way out of the city.
The customer service there was amazing!! It was a shiny example how it should work :) Everybody was really nice and helpful. Whole hostel was decorated with homemade furniture and amazing paintings. Breakfast was extraordinary!!! :) We have got scrambled eggs with rice and beans, pineapple as a desert, served with fresh coffee....it felt like from mommy :) The best hostel I stayed in while travelling in Central America. Hot water and towels were guaranteed :) There is huge kitchen and shared living room...outside chill out zone with hammocks.
The internet connection was really poor ;( I couldn’t watch any movie online, it kept disconnecting while chatting.
