The property was very close to downtown Monterey. It was easily within walking distance of both the beach and the nearby shopping center. All of the people who work there were very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay there again
The cables to the TV were loose and I had to fix them several times in order to watch TV at night. The room we stayed in could also use a paint job.
Not much and I didn’t realize we were going to be in an outdated room with the stairs right beside our bedroom.
The lights inside the room were odd. The light to the vanity was next to the door all away across the room. When you need to use the bathroom you turn on the light from the vanity and it turns on loud fan inside the toilet room but not over the vanity. I don’t think that’s a huge problem for 1 night but the beds had a smelly dirty feet smell so I asked for new comforter for each bed. That did relieve the problem with the smell.
Second time booking this location and got the exact same room as the first time. Very nice for the price, can't beat the location! Will continue to stay here.
Room could be updated for weatherization (threshold at door) and update to TV.
The bed was comfortable and the location was great.
The beds were soft and clean. Was happy to find out there was a bathtub and there was hot water. It was very quiet and peaceful.
The Carmel Hill Del Monte Pines Motel is located in Monterey just a few miles from Monterey Bay. There are things to do here that are easily accessible, and the surrounding area is comfortable and serene.
This is a small motel with only 20 rooms. All rooms have air conditioning, microwaves, refrigerators, and stone fireplaces. There are also TVs, coffeemakers, hairdryers, and phone lines. The rooms are simple and meant to be a comfortable place to rest at night or between your outings.
The Carmel Hill Del Monte Pines Motel doesn’t have a restaurant on the property but there are some good choices for food not far away. P.F. Chang’s is very near to the motel. The motel does have grills on-site that guests are welcome to use for grilling up something delicious. Other choices in Monterey include Monterey’s Fish House, Hula’s Island Grill, Rosine’s Restaurant, and El Cantaro.
The motel has an indoor pool for guests to enjoy. Fisherman’s Wharf is within a decent walk of the property or just a quick car ride. There is some good hiking in the area, as well as golfing. There is the Monterey Bay Aquarium not far away. There’s also lots of good places to go cycling around the bay. Guests can get out on the water too. It’s a great area for sailing and whale watching at certain times of the year.
The Carmel Hill Del Monte Pines Motel gives travelers to the Monterey area a nice place to stay for not a ton of money. The location is great for people wanting to be close to the water but not pay exorbitant prices.
