The inn was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. It is an inexpensive inn, but the bedding and towels were very nice. My only complaint was that the shower head was too high up (I'm 5'4") and the water pressure was not great, but that wouldn't prevent me from staying there again. If you bring a pet, let them know after you book, because some rooms are for pets and some are not. The carpeted rooms do not allow pets. Overall, a great value for a clean, comfortable room with wifi!
It is in a pretty area, but an older hotel that shows it's age. The manager isn't very friendly, could just be his way of presenting things.
I loved that they allow dogs.
The bed was terrible, I have such a huge neck and back ache. We spoke with the older man at the front and he did not want to change our room even though they had a lot of empty rooms. He was yelling at us and told us that we had to stay in that room. Worst experience that I have ever had.
The motel felt like a genuine little piece of Americana, with painted green and white exterior giving way to a fairly modern interior with a good (by motel standards) shower and a good TV.
The receptionist didn’t know where to recommend to eat, I ended up working out there were loads of places in the shopping mall over the road. Also a minor nit-pick, it was a shame the fire place in the room didn’t work as it was a cold evening but it wasn’t advertised as part of the room booking and the heater worked well enough.
Bed hard with lots of uncomfortable pressure points. Toilet is child sized. Pipes rattled every time you flush. Neighbors noisy.
The Carmel Hill Del Monte Pines Motel is located in Monterey just a few miles from Monterey Bay. There are things to do here that are easily accessible, and the surrounding area is comfortable and serene.
This is a small motel with only 20 rooms. All rooms have air conditioning, microwaves, refrigerators, and stone fireplaces. There are also TVs, coffeemakers, hairdryers, and phone lines. The rooms are simple and meant to be a comfortable place to rest at night or between your outings.
The Carmel Hill Del Monte Pines Motel doesn’t have a restaurant on the property but there are some good choices for food not far away. P.F. Chang’s is very near to the motel. The motel does have grills on-site that guests are welcome to use for grilling up something delicious. Other choices in Monterey include Monterey’s Fish House, Hula’s Island Grill, Rosine’s Restaurant, and El Cantaro.
The motel has an indoor pool for guests to enjoy. Fisherman’s Wharf is within a decent walk of the property or just a quick car ride. There is some good hiking in the area, as well as golfing. There is the Monterey Bay Aquarium not far away. There’s also lots of good places to go cycling around the bay. Guests can get out on the water too. It’s a great area for sailing and whale watching at certain times of the year.
The Carmel Hill Del Monte Pines Motel gives travelers to the Monterey area a nice place to stay for not a ton of money. The location is great for people wanting to be close to the water but not pay exorbitant prices.
