Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This b&b is completely unique and totally gorgeous. The rooms look like something from a high-end interiors magazine. As you step into the grand entrance you are transported back in time – you can feel the original residents and visitors of the house and Mantovan nobility. Our bedroom was characterful and very pretty yet the bathroom was very large and very modern in perfect contrast to the rest of the house, it had a stand alone bath and a big powerful rain shower. The breakfast was delicious – fresh fruit salad, delicious local pastry tarts and cakes – it was prepared and set in such a loving way.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What a gem! This palazzo in the heart of Mantova has a few rooms, each different and beautifully decorated. Very spacious. Lovely bathrooms. Breakfast is served in the immense diningroom, personally taken care of by the owners very friendly mother. Lavish rooms under high celings. Enjoy afternoon coffee on the balcony. It is like being a much pampered guest in a private home! Do take the opportunity if you can!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful palazzo, great location, generous breakfast- exceeded all expectations
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We never thought we would ever stay in a real Palazzo! Furnished with antiques and charming details, although the chairs and sofa in our room could have used new padding. Excellent breakfast with a great selection of options. Easy walk from the train station and to the sights.
Cons: It was a bit confusing upon arrival -- the two buzzers at the door had peoples' names and we weren't sure if they were private residences. We hoped we weren't disturbing anyone and just pressed them both in turn. The second button seemed to be the right one. :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely palazzo hosted by a gracious family. It is not a bargain booking but should not be missed if you have an interest in architecture and/or Italian culture.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is probably one of the most exquisite places to stay in Italy.
Cons: Plumbing too sophisticated. Fun, once you have mastered it. An armchair to sit and read inside the bedroom. There are plenty in the splendid sitting room though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Marvellous place, perfectly located, Very beautiful classical interior, extraordinary breakfast, and the service from the host was excellent. A great place to stay and return to.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The room is much larger than the one I chosen initially and the whole building makes me like living in palace. The B&B is located near to train station and old town, very convenient for visitor.
Cons: The breakfast has no any hot food and given the B&B having 2 rooms only, I understand that I cannot expect too much. However, I still hope to have one sausage and two fried / boiled eggs to make the breakfast much better.

Pros: Excellent location in the heart of the city, very large space, good breakfast and above all an extremely helpful host who helped navigate us around the parking arrangements.
Cons: Although a very large space, the decoration was a little sparse and overall the room could do with some refurbishment. It’s a beautiful and comfortable room with fabulous wooden flooring, however has the potential with some investment to be even better.

Pros: Lovely countryside family home. Room was very clean, well decorated, comfortable and with air conditioning. Very stylish open plan space for breakfast. Chiara and her family were very kind and welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, we even got the ingredients to cook pasta, as the restaurant nearby was closed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our family (me, wife, 4 kids) traveled throughout Italy. We stayed in apartments in the best parts of Rome, Venice, and Florence, but our stay at B&B L' Alveare was everyone's favorite (and the least expensive stay on our trip!). The family is so kind and welcoming, and the property is beautiful. The drive into the property along a charming dirt road past farmhouses and tomato fields brought us to a little oasis. We arrived in the evening and were warmly greeted by the family, including their friendly dogs and cat. The grounds are tailor made for family relaxation, with hammocks, a tree house, a small swimming pool, and grape orchard that was teeming with fresh grapes that were offered to us in bunches. The rooms were tidy and comfortable, with their own restrooms. The 2nd floor room is spacious and air conditioned, with a beautiful view. After a wonderful sleep, breakfast was served in the loft of an impeccably decorated barn. We dined on fresh cake and croissants, organic honey, ham and cheese, milk, juice and coffee. Our son likes to fish, and the family was kind enough to help him fashion a bamboo fishing pole with line and a hook. We dug up worms and fished the irrigation canal next to the house. It's a memory we'll cherish forever, and we hope to be back someday.
Cons: This can't really be controlled, but the area has a lot of mosquitos and pretty good sized wasps (vespas). The wasps didn't get us, but the mosquitos did. Bring some repellent and you'll be fine.

Pros: The location is great! 5/10 minutes walk from the main sites in the historic center. Mr. Giuseppe, the host, goes beyond expectations to make you feel welcome and comfortable. He gave us a lot of helpful tips on the food and the city. His homemade breakfast is fantastic.

Great location, close to main attractions in a quiet place. If you enjoy chatting with people and like to know more about Mantova's history, Italy and its food you found the right place

We had jams and tarts with cardamom , smoked turmeric , pepper.... as well as the classic sbrisolona ....simply Amazing . A inexhaustible store of local history and information . A unique experience!
8.8 Excellent

Cons: Hard to park without a dedicated parking garage but that was understood.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything exceeded our expectations. Host was so accommodating and assisted us in every way possible. He is outstanding! Accom very central enabling us to see all we wanted in the 3 days in Mantova
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Giuseppe was a wonderful host: v knowledgable about Mantova and the area and generous with his time. Great recommendations of things to see and do and places to eat. Fell in love with Mantova and would definitely stay with Giuseppe and family again. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and v spacious and beautifully decorated. Highly recommended. Lovely breakfast too with gorgeous home made jams and yoghurt and lots of cake! Grazie Giuseppe.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The host is quite a unique man! Makes his own cakes and jams; was very polite and helpful and made us feel rescued after sliding through one-way-streets for an hour... Breakfast is great, the bed was really king-sized.
Cons: Parking problems; without the help of our host we would have been lost; of course, that's kinda the problem of the guest, not of the B&B; our advice: contact the B&B in advance if you go by car and follow the instructions
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is super-central, the B&B is one of the best I've seen - super-clean, very friendly welcome, very informative, great breakfast, slept like a baby in a very comfortable king-size bed - also, great air conditioning on a very muggy summer night in northern Italy! I would definitely return to Mantova and stay here again. Grazie mile!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Giuseppe is very fond of Mantova, its history, its sights, its views - and he shares that with you. He goes into the details of marmelade preparation, how about pesto and tomato marmelade. An don't think you know what mostarda is: it is actually made from quince using a bit of french mustard and cayenne. The location of B&B is perfect,
Cons: The wide variety of sweets for breakfast could be supplemented by a small choice of sour/salty selection. Think of diabetes, but this suggestion applies to Italy in general.

Pros: I chose this for the free bikes and the location in the National Park (Mincio). These fulfilled our expectations and the owners were really friendly and accommodating. They really take care of the place.
Cons: The property was a little further from Mantova than I had calculated (my fault). The weather was awful and so the location was not as attractive in heavy rain and wind off season as it would be in the summer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location. Lovely quiet countryside, 4km from Mantua, so there was a choice between culture and activity ( biking , walking). The breakfast was excellent. The owner, Alberto , was charming and everyone was very helpful when we had a problem with a tyre on our trailer - what could have been problematic was sorted quickly. We are already planning our next visit.

Cons: Clean room but a bit outdated. Value for money was just ok.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff! Very kind, helpful and willing to please.
Cons: The squeaky bed! And the door to the room—it would rattle every time a vacuum was created by opening or closing other doors. This was annoying, however minor.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean, quiet and confortable room.
Cons: Staff was not present when I arrived and the door was locked. Fortunately, someone from the staff came a few minutes later to do the check-in and give me the room key. But the staff is not present after 9p.m. The next day, the person at the reception was kind and attentive to my needs because I had to leave for the train station very early.

Cons: Noisy street. Breakfast a bit simple.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location: on edge of old town and close to walk along river Rooms had character and air conditioning

Cons: Nothing.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was good.
Cons: TV was making noise because the cables aren’t well attached and the door of the toilet too. It is a new place and the fence to get in the room was not fixed well, dangerous if you go with kids. For this price all should be good and wasn’t.
9.6 Excellent

Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location, room. ambiente, staff all perfect.
Cons: that we had to leave. Next stay will be longer

Pros: The suites are very spacious and artistically designed: very modern inset in 15th/16th century buildings in the central market square of Mantova's old town.
Cons: I liked it all.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very stylish and clean in a newly renovated historical building. The landlord owns also 2 restaurants just opposite of the residence and a forno with delicious local food at discounted rates for guests. So very convenient.
Cons: The room didn't have any blinds so I had problems sleeping with the light coming in the room. Had I known beforehand I would have taken with me my eyemask. Since the breakfast was served in one of the landlord's restaurants I was expecting also hot food such as eggs for example and they weren't available.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very central easy check in extremely clean and delicious included breakfast totally recommend it
Cons: Pillows were a bit hard
9.2 Excellent
Pros: excellent location in the centre of the town, connection with the very good restaurant across the road and the 15% discount on meals there.
Cons: the clock in the square chiming on every hour through the night.

Pros: We like hotels in old/ historic buildings but with modern comfort. Here this was exceptionally well done. We have never had such a spacious room in any hotel. Its situation right in the center of the old town is amazing. It is in a restricted pedestrian area ie. the next parking lot is about a 10 minutes walk away.
Cons: There was nothing we did not like.

Pros: Nice big room with everything you need including small kitchenette if you wanted to prepare any food. Plenty of free parking. Great having facility to make hot drinks. Greeted by friendly and helpful host who allowed us to check in earlier than arranged which was fantastic as it was an extremely hot day. Clean and relatively close to city centre.
Cons: Decent walk into city centre so if you’re not a good walker probably not the place for you. Would have liked to have some instant coffee as part of coffee and tea facility.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The facilities were great and it was an excellent value for the money. It's a mini apartment with the kitchen, washing machine, refrigerator, and even a dishwasher. The staff was also very nice, especially the girl from Moldova.
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Mr. Leonardo and Mr. Marco who manage the establishment are cheerful, polite and friendly, we communicated with them in Italian. The apartment was well equipped for light cooking, poor ventilation would make anything more elaborate uncomfortable, the dishwasher which I do not think is mentioned in the facilities made life very easy. Dishwasher tabs were readily provided by the Reception. There is a Lidl Supermarket at 70 mts from the property. The small washing machine came in handy.
Cons: The location of these apartments for anyone without a car can be a bit of a problem. Though it is only about 3 kms from the railway station a Taxi costs 9 to 10 euros. The radio taxi in Mantua was unreliable in as much as it is through a telephone recording system in Italian with no satisfactory confirmation and on the day we first wanted to get to the stop for the bus to Sabbioneta it did not show up and the next day we ordered it well in advance through the Reception and it came in 5 minutes so we landed up waiting at the bus stop in freezing cold weather for 45 minutes. Though this is not perse the property's fault, you just need to be forewarned if you are there without your own transport. There is a bus stop at 50 mtrs from the Hotel which takes you to the center but the frequency is only every 30 minutes and it does not connect directly to the train station, you either need to drag your bags for a good distance or change buses, which in a town where we found that information to tourists is not readily or accurately provided can be daunting. To get to the principal tourist sights the bus was convenient and you could even take a nice walk along the lake of about 3 kms to get to the city center, we did this once. The garbage has to be disposed off in the basement yourself, for which no instructions were provided in the apartment, this was strange and uncomfortable since the studio apartment we had did appear to be made up every day, but litter was not removed. The immediate neighbourhood was a little seedy. The apartment 203 did not have a lake view contrary to what we had requested and what the property had promised us in advance. Wifi was not the best.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and modern room, good beds and all was clean, parking is good
Cons: Internet in our room had low signal power, and lack of basic things like salt/pepper on kitchen
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place to stay with all necessary things in the room! A room is very well equipped so you can relax and enjoy your stay. Small kitchen and a supermarket in 5 minutes walking will help you to cook your meal, the washing machine will clean your clothes and the staff is always ready to help and answer you questions - special thanks to Iliana! (forgive me in case of misspelling your name...). the city center is in 30 minutes walking and you can get it via pedestrian path along the road or via nice park on the lake shore (when meet a rabbit don't go to the rabbit hole if you are not Alice :) ). This very place is very quiet, you won't find a lot of cafes around but it's nice to have a rest after the long day of sightseeing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: @All things are ok and comfortable @there are 2 staffs have warmhearted to their costumers and more. #Elina and her supervisor #Leonardo thank you for them.
Cons: Nothing to say.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly and helped in al our needs Good breakfast wonderful croissant Location unbeatable in the very heart of ancient Mantova!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything excellent: staff, location, comfort.
Cons: Nothing.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: We are not that picky, but there was not a lot to like Angela was the only person to like. Location was as expected. Home made jam and cakes were good, but unless you really like sugar every day for breakfast, it’s just not enough to balance the fact that there’s really nothing else. One of us can’t eat wheat so there wasn’t much else. Salami was quickly depleted but we liked that there was some protein w/o sugar in it
Cons: Since they knew the time of our arrival, they had two well dressed employees greet us. That was the last time there was any service. This window dressing covered up the complete lack thereof. The clincher was the check out. We asked if we could check out the night before departure and were told yes. So we tried to check out as requested. No, we were told by the young lady. “I have checked out of the system for the evening, and it is SO quick, it will only be 2 minutes in the morning.” “two minutes? Are you sure?” Oh yes, she said. I had to wonder why she was even there. THey leave at 8, so no night duty after that. Morning came -no one at the desk.No one answered the desk, no one there. We were beginning to get really anxious. We went to the breakfast room where one young woman was trying handle like 5 tables of coffee orders, plus refill plates, plus clean up and told her our issue. So she gets her cell phone and calls one of the two ladies from the first day. No answer. She calls someone else. No answer. She starts apologizing and panicking. We tell her that the night girl told us that it would be VERY FAST. She said, “But she knows I don’t know the system.” But she left her station and went downstairs and started trying. Cut to the chase: it was a good thing our train was late. When the manager lady finally was summoned, instead of checking us out, SHE SAT and GAVE TRAINING TO HER EMPLOYEE. It was complicated. I have never come so close to losing my patience. The hotel is noisy, the bed is narrow and a bit saggy. Terrible WiFi was my big issue (work). Street noise even w/ windows shut. Slippery step to the bathroom that was colored the same as the lower floor obscuring it completely at night. Broken hair drier, finicky toilet. Door didn’t close properly. Room was tiny & stuffy. In no way did it live up to the reviews I read here on booking. It is the single most disappointing hotel in our European travels of over a decade.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cute hotel, quiet and in the centre of nice Mantova, very kind and individual spirit, beautiful rooms, every morning fresh and self made breakfast cake! Lemon, chocolate, apple cake... Graaaaazie!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Booked a junior suite - excellent value - and was not disappointed. Room was large and quiet with good air con. On street parking with permit issued by reception for 5 euro a day. The hotel is located in the centre of the old city and convenient for the major sites. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff friendship attitude
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Beds very comfortable. Location superb. Staff fantastic. Breakfast very nice.
Cons: Shower in room 303 needed a shelf or basket, and a grab handle, for those of limited mobility. The walls were badly scuffed and marked and in need of some fresh paint.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very convenient in centre of beautiful old city and sights, reception recommended a good restaurant. Kettle was provided. Nice room. Junior staff were charming.
Cons: Breakfast was short on rolls and bread as it was all cakes (quite commonplace for the area I believe). Some street noise but that goes with the choice of location.

Pros: The location was excellent. We walked to and from the train station as well as to every site we wanted to visit. The street was very nice and there were markets there on 2 days. The apartment was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The bar across the road was a little loud on Friday and Saturday night, but we didn’t close the shutters which probably would have helped.
6.0 Good
Pros: Hotel is in a very good location, clean, and lots of amenities. Plenty of public parking stations around.
Cons: There is a drilling sound that you hear every time someone uses the water. Can be disturbing at night. Our room only came with fold out beds.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in old historical area, very friendly staff, nice breakfast and dinner.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was superb-could not have been better right in the main square and room had an excellent view. The breakfast and attached restaurant were very good.
Cons: The room was too small, as was the bathroom. The staff were standoffish and not helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, especially the delicious caffe latte, and excellent friendly service. Top location, absolutely stunning and close to everything. Good TV channels. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom with well thought-out convenient furnishings.
Cons: The minuses of a historic building: some inconveniences are to be expected in some parts of the building. Please do NOT change the towels every day but follow your own ecological rules - towels only changed if placed in the bidet! It would be helpful to have more information about local transport, and for arriving/departing visitors an email and map telling them how to walk from/to the station, since taxis seem quite rare.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was insane
Cons: Staff was fantastic! Bed, oh so comfy. Breakfast was unanticipated. Very good value
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is unbeatable
Cons: car parking is difficult. The hotel was helpful
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a great view of the ducal palace and Piazza Sordello. Breakfast was lovely, building was historic but up-to-date.
Cons: Our room didn’t have blackout curtains, and the Piazza Sordello is brightly lit all night!
6.3 Good
Pros: The location was good.
Cons: It is very run-down with many stairs everywhere. Not at all suitable for older travelers. There was little help with the staff with luggage. The breakfast was adequate but you had to pay extra for it.

3.8 Mediocre
Cons: they tried to put us in a smoky mouldy room with no windows absolutely not matching the pictures of the site. Eventually they put us in a clean room. The location in front of the station is super poor as well and some homeless people around nice but weird environment...
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff were very helpful, great location just cross the street from the station and you are there, easy walk to the city centre (15 min.) and Palazzo Te. Booked 1 room/1 guest, stayed 1 huge room/3 guests single bead (first at right crossing to the main gate), clean, hight ceiling, exposed beam, mini fridge, nice size bathroom, lots of clean towels, clean linen, unexpected quiet because of the location close to a main street, WiFi Ok. Great value or Money, I would re-book.
Cons: Shared reception/check with the ABC hotel, would have been better to let me know in advance, rooms in a courtyard away from the lobby.stayed in may (day 16o-20o C, night 10o-12o C), heater off, chilly room at night, small TV (20 inch?) distant from the bed, mattress too soft - lower back pain.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, spacious, helpful staff, great location opposite train station
Cons: Hard bed spoiled an otherwise excellent stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very spacious room and bathroom, comfortable bed, very clean, good location across the railway station and walking distance to the historical center, very very very nice and kind young lady at the reception on arrival, and very good value for money
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were lovely - very warm and helpful - always a big factor for us.
Cons: It wasn't quite what we'd anticipated from the details - we were located in the Hotel ABC rather than the actual residence, but I suspect they may all be connected and, in the event, it wasn't a problem at all.
6.7 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed. Opposite of the train station.
Cons: There was absolutely no WiFi reception in my room and no intent to do anything about the problem. The check-in instructions are vague
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice big room with properly working air conditioner. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Directly across the street from the train station, which makes it perfect for travelers with lots of luggage. You cross the street from the station and you are there. No need to drag the suitcase throughout the city. Walking distance to the old town. Super friendly staff. Will definitely consider staying there again.
Cons: There was no sign for Antico Residence. You had to go to ABC Hotel for check-in. The check-in address was mentioned in the booking.com description, but I still think it was a bit confusing without a sign.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious room, well lighted. Very comfotable bed. ---löcation is just in front of train station and within easy distance to town centre
Cons: -------------zt us cut off from main hptel, but ----i had no problem about it,

Pros: Good location

Pros: Lovely thick towels; spacious room with separate bathroom; very quiet in spite of being across from the train station; helpful staff; refreshments provided on arrival; short walking distance to town Centre.
