Cons:Too hot in the room.. airconditioner not enough for the size of the room..
Pros:The staff was nice and the room was clean. Being an American I think of thick mattresses and boxsprings to provide comfort, and the platform bed, with a relatively thin mattress was deceivingly comfortable. Maybe it was just exhaustion, but as soon as my head hit the pillow I found the bed very comfortable and supportive. Whenever my room was cleaned the 2 bottles of water provided were replenished in the fridge. This was a nice touch. I only went to breakfast one morning and found it confusing with no direction given by the staff. The food was hot, but so was the room breakfast was served in. Working nights I didn't find a need for breakfast past my first arrival day so it wasn't an issue to me. All in all my trip was too short (60 hours on the ground in total) but I found the Malayan Plaza to be accommodating for my schedule and very comfortable when I did find time to sleep. I would highly suggest it to anyone looking for a good place to stay in the area.
Cons:Some additional comforts would have been nice - tissues (other than just toilet paper), washcloths, basic utensils in the kitchen. I was working eastern US hours (overnight) while I was there and it was frustrating to be put in a room that was right across the hall from the cleaning services. It was a touch noisy, but once I was asleep it didn't bother me. Given the international work force that travels to that area it would have been nice to have been placed in a room further from daily noise given my backwards sleep schedule, but as I said it wasn't an issue for me since I'm a very sound sleeper.
