The location is most convenient to the Atocha train station and the nearby Retiro Park. Also very walkable to the fabulous Museo del Prado.
The rooms are very small and worse, the ventilation system is terrible. We were there in between seasons (no heat and no air-conditioning). The room was miserably hot and when we complained, the staff replied "the whole hotel is hot."
The best point of this hotel is its location, across the street from the train station. This was very convenient, and I was also able to walk to some interesting plazas and places to eat.
The room is very small. It served my needs well traveling alone, but would have been very tight with more than one person in it.
The reception and the receptionist, incredibly helpful and nice
The hotel staff was very friendly and kind. He speaks English well and his explanation was to the point. The Hotel location was very good. It's easy to access to Estación de Madrid-Puerta de Atocha. If we walk for 5 minutes from the Hotel, there were some restaurants.
One problem was that there is no safety box in the room. The receptionist kept our passports in the reception.
Across the road from Etosha station and Metro exits by the hotel. 10min walk into old town centre and close to central park and other big attractions. Good location.
With all new hotels these days, the bedroom walls were too thin and hence woken up in the early morning by people in the corridor or next door.
The NH Madrid Atocha hotel, formerly known as NH Sur, is located right across the street from the Atocha train station. This means guests can enjoy easy access to the whole city, including the airport, as well as high-speed trains to Seville and Córdoba. The location is also perfect for exploring Madrid’s top sites, with the famous Art Triangle - the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Museums - within a 15-minute walk, while the city center is just four stops away from the nearby Atocha Renfe metro station. NH Madrid Atocha has 68 pastel-colored rooms with sleek hardwood flooring. The rooms are functional and are equipped with free Wi-Fi and satellite TVs. We want breakfast to be the highlight of your morning, so we offer a wide variety of options, including local specialties, such as tortilla de patatas, or churros and hot chocolate. Around the hotel, guests will find some of Madrid’s top restaurants and our staff will be happy to recommend delicious options. If you are in the city on business, we have a compact meeting room for up to 20 people.
