Room excellent staff good
Top floor bit of a struggle breakfast lukewarm
I arrived and immediately felt unwelcome, I don’t think I saw a member of staff actually smile ... during my stay...No hot water, dirty room hair matted all over the carpet. Breakfast was in a building site and was awful .... This is the worst hotel experience I’ve had for sometime.. My advice: there are plenty of budget hotels in this vicinity in London, that are clean , friendly, hospitable, this is not one of them .... do not stay here.
As above, the worst thing is the unhappiness of the staff that work in the hotel.
The single bed in the twin room in the basement was comfortable enough and the room and storage areas were a good size. The breakfast was fine - standard for hotels in this area of London. It’s a fairly quiet road.
The staff are nice enough but many of them barely speak English, including the girl on the front desk. It’s really hard to communicate with them. After leaving, I rang to ask about something I left there which included some personal items including my house keys. She kept saying she’d ask the cleaners tomorrow! It was very hard to impress on her that I really couldn’t leave London without my house keys, and she therefore needed to go and look for me before I travelled back to the hotel to get it! Further, there was a great deal of noise from the staff and some workers delivering something in the basement during my stay. They were literally shouting to each other, banging doors etc in the corridor in the evening and then again in the morning, including chatting very loudly in a big group outside my bedroom door. They then knocked on my door even though it was over an hour before check out time, I still don’t know why they did this! Not impressed! This place has pretensions to be a better hotel than many of the other slightly tired B&Bs around here but it’s just the same as all others that line this road and Gower street - its fine, but nothing special that is worth the extra money they seem to want to charge.
Very helpful reception
Great interior design. Beautiful view. Great breakfast.
Had bedbugs in Room 8! Bite me for the entire night. Killed 10+ of the bugs. Manager handled it very professionally the next morning and returned my money back. I do think that the management is unaware of the bugs. Hopefully they have cleaned it...
