Lombok car rentals

Whilst Lombok has lots of public transport options available, a hire car is a more ideal choice for those who want to explore the island with no limits. Driving in a hire car with no restrictions around the island of Lombok usually takes 2-4h. Whilst you travel, you can enjoy the beautiful and picturesque landscapes of the island. Some of the top attractions, landmarks and venues are also dotted around the island of Lombok, meaning the freedom of driving is essential. Some of these attractions include Gili Trawngan, Pink Beach, Kuta Beach and many others.

Lombok has easy traffic conditions, which means driving is a pleasant and easy experience for most travellers. It’s advised people avoid driving at night due to the lack of visibility and the odd pothole that could affect your journey. Driving around Lombok isn’t too different to driving around the UK with its left-hand driving. Drivers will find there is not just a maximum speed limit but also a minimum. The maximum speed limit for most major roads is 80-100 km/h (50-62 mph) and 40-80 km/h (25-50 mph) for other general roads, whereas the minimum driving limit is 20 km/h (12 mph).

The most common minimum age for car hire in Lombok is 23 years old. These drivers should also have held their licence for at least one year. Requirements and age can differ depending on specific car hire companies and their policies. Whilst most companies don’t serve customers under the age of 23, there are a few companies that will let you hire a car if you are 21 years old. Whilst this is subject to other conditions, you will generally have to expect an additional charge, also known as a young driver’s fee. Your chosen vehicle hire type is also subject to age. For example, you won’t usually find luxury car hire available to younger drivers.
