I had a great stay at this hostel everyone was super nice and place was very clean the star was great especially catarina Shell was really helpful and sweet!!!
Great location in the train station- and easily accesible to the airport via the metro nearby. Very central location. Benefit if staying at the Destination Hostel is having access to their other property in Lisbon with a rooftop bar/chill area.
What did I like? Almost everything. I've stayed in many places in GB, across Europe and Canada. I can only think of one other hostel or backpackers that had such a relaxed, chilled out atmosphere. Feeling stressed after a lengthy delayed flight, I was welcomed by Riccardo and Ana, shown to my bed, and asked if I would like a complimentary glass of Sangria? Of course I accepted it! :-D The Destination Hostel, is centrally located in the Rossio train station building on the second floor. An excellent location to visit some of the tourist attractions that Lisbon has to offer, and located close to many restaurants. One tip I was given was to go to a restaurant called Stashas, which serves local Portuguese dishes. EXCELLENT. But it's not the easiest place to find, so do ask for directions at reception. The New Year's Eve party on the rooftop of the Destination Sunset Hostel at Cais do Sodré. I only have three words - WHAT A NIGHT! The Destination Hostels offer day tours to Sintra. Trains also leave Rossio station, for Sintra, and take 40 to 50 minutes. If you go to Lisbon, this is one place that you should visit. I didn't allow myself enough time, so this is somewhere I have to go back to when I come back to Lisbon. The Destination Hostels offer other tours, and walking tours in and around the city. I went to a Fado night. The wonderful Flavia was our guide and host, who had a wealth of information about Fado, it's origins, about Lisbon and so on. I know that others thought Flavia was an amazing host, guide and singer. My bed, big for a Hostel, with curtains on the bunks for that extra little bit of privacy. I've not seen that anywhere else. Spotlessly clean bedrooms, bathrooms, social areas, kitchen etc And of course, last but certainly not least, the staff. Hard working, full of information, and just generally great people. One staff member said to me, "We've loved having you here, and we want you to come back!
Nice and clean. Free breakfast inclusive of fruit cereal and bread to make toast/sandwich fillers and yoghurt, helpful staff, free sangria in the evening and lots of good advice from staff re things to do locally. Staff even upgraded my room from shared to private for free. Thanks guys.
The staff were very helpful. I was checked by Renata and she was very friendly and bubbly. Ricardo always greeted me with this morning, no matter what time of the day it was as I was usually sleeping! The events organised as well as evening games were great...definitely worth a stay!
I had to adjust to the noise slightly in the room but that’s expected. There was lots of walking involved in the pub crawl so just bear that in mind if you’re planning to do this.
