Amazing amenities for a hostel! Very friendly & helpful staff, we explored Lisbon by foot and the location was perfect. Couple rooms are all on top floor by themself
Be prepared for no aircon!
It was amazing atmosphere and great location. Balcon view was perfect. Everything is well organized.
For the money, it was superb. The staff were EXTREMELY helpful. There are people cleaning all the time, and the bathroom area is modern, so it’s very clean; I just think it would be good for the hostel to invest in some bathmats, as people leave the shower area wet and tile is slippery when wet. I also loved the beautiful tile wainscotting and wooden floors - it’s an historic building. And the showers were superb, which is important on hot summer days, with plenty of hot water.
It’s not the hostel’s fault, but hostelworld.com charges a hidden fee of about 21% which is an awful surprise. I think if you book directly with the hostel, you won’t get charged this fee, but I’m not sure because I booked online. It’s also hard to keep guests quiet, both inside a room with 6 beds, and outside the window of the room where I was staying, but that is not the hostel’s fault. In order to be close to the inner city, you have to stay in a loud environment; but it’s good to be aware of this before you come. The hostel sells ear plugs if you forget yours.
Staff was really good, this guy called Valter was very helpful.
- no air in the dormitory when fully booked, especially in the lower beds with only tiny access from the feet
