I was on a gluten free diet & difficult to get bread I licked the fruit
not being able to have special medicai diiets catered for.
The location was perfect for a conference. The front desk was asked for recommendations for a restaurant and did an excellent job. The building was well designed and beautiful in itself.
The buffet breakfast was mediocre. Very little fruit and uninteresting for the most part. Out of season apples, and cut orange and grapefruit most days; some frozen mango chunks other days. Just scrambled and boiled eggs. The Japanese breakfast items were also boring and the miso shiru (soup) was bland. The breads were strange choices (soy milk bread, sea lettuce bread?) The restaurants were both over-priced and not all that great. Staff training needed a bit more work. We ordered Chinese food at one time and the rice took a long while to arrive. When the other food was cold and the rice had not arrived, we asked for the other food to be reheated. Instead of saying yes, the waitress said "wait a minute" and called someone else. The second person said, "I have to see if it can be reheated" and went away for a minute. Only after that did she take the food and have it reheated. The A answer should have been that the waitress saw the rice was taking too long on her own and followed up with the kitchen. The B answer should have been "Yes sir" and the food taken back to the kitchen immediately. The Japanese restaurant menu focused on "sets" which are a device to raise prices and not good value. The French restaurant was similarly short on selections and focused on set menus.
