The only thing good is they have own private onsen
The owner and the staff were unfriendly especially the nepalese staff.
Nice onsen. It's great you can use them privately in the evening. Good food.
Awesome, great home cooked meals, very nice baths and very helpful staff. We asked for help in confirming the bus schedules the night before our journey out from Kusatsu. Knowing we could be a little tight on time if we walked to the bus terminal after breakfast at 8am, owner drove us there the next day. It was a huge relief and very much appreciated. We had a wonderful stay at Kusatsu Kiyoshigekan, many thanks to great service staff there!
No elevator. It's normal and standard not to have any in a small ryokan, but it was a little tiring carrying our luggage up and down as we were on 2 week journey and had to pack in more things than usual.
Overall it was ok. Quiet, good location. But nothing special.
I found an appropriate temperature only in one private onsen which might not be free if there are a lot of people. Other onsens are too hot or too cold. Breakfast/dinner for 4000 yen is too much! You can find the same food 3 times cheeper in the town.
The breakfast was sooooo delicious!!!!
