Not so much when we arrived at our room, it smelled awful, as if all the stains were blocked & very musty smell. There were stains on the carpet.

Cons: The staff was not helpful The room was very difficult to get into. After trying for 10 min to open the door with the key I went to the front desk to get help. They sent someone up to show us how to hold the door and pull before it would open. They said it happens a lot with their doors and keys. The next morning when we left the room we had a difficult time getting out of the room because of the door situation. Just grateful there was no fire during the night. We were also told that breakfast wasn’t till 8. When we got down to the lobby at 7:30 they were serving only the bus tour group breakfast. We were told breakfast was at 8 but the tour group was already being served. All other hotels that I’ve stayed at served all their guests at the same time and didn’t give special treatment to the tour groups. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

There are, however, about 50 restaurants within walking distance. We tried two; the fish restaurant, Kitty O'Shea's (spelt the Irish way, O'Se) had good food, but no bar; just wine and beer. And it was noisy and crowded. Still the manager was a lovely man. The Indian place we tried the second night also lacked a bar, and it's food also lacked variety, despite a menu of about 200 n ominal offerings. I'd have been happier with well-cooked Indian street food, so much so that I can't recall the name of the place, nor do I want to.

Cons: Just a few small issues. At a four star hotel I expect a face cloth in the bathroom. The flooring is timber so I could hear the person in the room above me early in the morning walking about. The breakfast room didn't have gluten free options visibly available but they were available if one asks, Some items need to be ordered the night before but that's no use if you are not aware of it.

Cons: Although nice and spacious - we felt our room (122) was a little dated in decor and some of the soft furnishings should be replaced - threadbare cushions etc. Also as we paid extra for a mountain view we were disappointed to find one of the windows was full of condensation between the double glazing .

Our room was located right next to a back door which is fine except the door was open all night so anyone could walk in off the street.

The moon looked like a pearl sitting on the hills. We were at the Castlerosse on Easter weekend. There were activities for the children, such as an egg hunt. If you have children, then be sure to bring their bathing suits and a bathing cap. The full Irish breakfast was tasty and the panoramic view of the lakes from the dining room was something I won't forget. I will recommend this hotel to all of my friends who are planning a trip to Ireland.

Pros: Very good breakfast, great start to the day. Food in the resturant also very good, standard fair for Killarney town center, very good wait staff. Very clean spacious rooms, nothing special with our view, but not a problem, ansd we were very happy with our room. The weather was very warm and the room was also quiet warm, room was equiped with fans for cooling. Overall very happy with our stay, and will recommend the hotel to friends and family.

Cons: No complaints, other than parking is very limited and space is not used to its capacity. Might be worth mentioning that parking is readily avaiable in nearby public car parks at a resonable rate.

Cons: While outside the hotel's area of control, the apparent lack of discretion by the Parking Company supervising the front precints of the complex is a negative. I was unable to secure parking in the hotel car park on night of arrival as it was full and found a parking space directly beside the front of the hotel. A parking ticket was issued at 10.05 a.m. the following morning.This additional expenditure on the trip copuld have been better spent elsewhere.

Cons: The room across the hall seemed to be used by staff all night long. Banging of doors and voices, the fire alarm was activated at 8am and no explanation was given. When my partner put this to the management they were very apologetic and a discount was offered and accepted
