Awesome place, with a slice of history, The presentation, cleanliness and the representation of the art and history of Rajasthan were espically good.
Excellent food available all hours at very reasonable price. Would recommend eating at the hotel - no worry about delli-belly yet some real Indian food to be sampled. Roof top balcony restaurant. Very friendly staff. Clean room. Pretty interior.
No cups or glasses in the room. I did get a kettle and cup on request. No bedside lamp. Chairs on the balcony was uncomfortable and tables not wiped. Little out of the center of town - made use of Uber taxi's for best value getting into town and to fort
Staffs are very cooperative, they brought my luggage to the car.
The staff absolutely make this place - everyone is friendly, helpful and have a sense of humour. It’s an old building but the owners have worked well to make it nice. Ornate concrete and painting plus their antique furniture choices really give the building personality. The rooftop restaurant is excellent, an extensive menu (including more than 25 breakfast options) means you could stay in for days and never get bored of the food. The special thali was great and if you’re a beer drinker try the fried peanuts - a perfect accompaniment. I was there for holi, the hotel put on a little party with a band for live music, dancing and all the colours you could want. An excellent option for travellers concerned about harassment in public holi celebrations.
Its a very old fashioned old world charmer of the Indian Raj plenty of open places to sit and take meals etc. It's a fair hike up all the stairs but a pleasant area to be in with a lot of refined houses and guesthouses in the area.
Cleanliness especially on the stairs and sitting areas, lot's of disgusting cigarette butts left by ( guests) however they were never cleaned away during my 3 day stay, the guests themselves should be more considerate of others using the facilities.
