10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service. Large well equipped room, very clean and very good value for money
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, good location, hot water in the showers (essential for 4am tour wakeups) and a kitchen (also essential). The bed was comfortable and they offered tours, Spanish lessons, breakfast and had a nice seating area on the roof. I would have done a Spanish lesson or 2 but I wasn't there long enough. Also my bus arrived really early (5-6am) and they still let me into my room as they could see I was close to collapsing for lack of sleep.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Ana, the owner of the property, was always very helpful and nice. She gave us advise about what to do in town and helped us organize the tours. The property is basic but it has everything you need, the location is good and every part of the property we saw was super clean.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: central but quite location. Good mattress and spacious rooms. Top shower very good pressure and hot! Staff is so super friendly here. They help you with everything, organizing tours. Anas husband is a guide and knows everyt track here! Highly recomennded to stay here!
Cons: ....
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff spoke English and were genuinely helpful. Good value. Quite at night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Arrived early morning on a nightbus from Lima, and Ana already let me into my room to refresh and relax, wayyy before check-in time, even offered me breakfast! Absolutely caring host.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, hot water for shower and you can do your laundry at rooftop balcony.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts we're extremely welcoming and polite. Very helpful in arranging tours to the outer lagoons. The room was cleaned daily and has a hot shower. The breakfast was delicious and the roof top terrace was nice to relax on during the day. Would highly recommend
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners Ana and her husband are really friendly and are there to help you at any time. The breakfast is good. You get some bread with eggs and jam and some fruit or yoghurt, thee and coffee. The accommodation is really clean. They have a small terrace that is nice with some views of the mountains. A 15 min walk from the touristy center.
Cons: When I arrived there was nobody, after calling Anna she came directly to open the door for me. She excused herself. Said that check in is at 12. On booking there stood from 12. Miscommunication. All the rest of my stay made it all good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good property standard. Hot showers. Decent wifi. Not bad breakfast. Very nice and helpful owners. Helped us a lot with organising day tours, both organised and on our own, gave a lot of useful tips. Stored our huge luggage while we were cycling around Huarascan National Park. We extended our stay there 2 times and came back a week later for a few more nights.
Cons: The property is located close to some disco/wedding venue/restaurant, I'm not sure. We had two noisy nights (out of 10), one night music didn't stop until 3am, another night it stopped at 11pm. As always in Peru - have a good pair of earplugs with you. The room requires some simple fixes - curtains mechanism didn't work properly, some drawers were broken. Nothing major.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is the best hostel that I stayed at in Huaraz. It was clean, comfortable and the owner was super friendly and helpful. She have me a lot of useful information regarding the area and trekking. I would love to stay there again. Thank you, Ana!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very friendly and helpful. We felt welcome and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and we even got breakfast at 4/30 in the morning. It was super clean and very quiet.
Cons: Nothing to say
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very attentious and kind. We arrived with big delay due to transit problems and they found a day tour on the last minute. Also, they prepared our breakfast on the night before so we could eat before leaving for trekking in the early morning.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel also helped us arrange our activities in the Cordillera Blanca. The staff made us feel like part of the family. At different times there was a different family member in charge which lead to some confusion. But, they were all very nice and always worked things out. They watched our bags and let use stay in the common rooms after our checkout. The family room for four was spacious and comfortable. The location is an easy walk to the main square. We enjoyed walking through the neighborhood. But, some might find it a bit far.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was simple, clean and organised. All the common bathrooms were clean and easy to access. The common kitchen and rooftop were comfy and welcoming :) we liked and recommend this hostel !
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff provide you options for the best treks! Panorama and paramount treks were so much better than the standard Laguna Paron/69. Beds are comfy and curtains really help for getting an early night before waking up early to do the treks. Opposite the market so good for buying food and kitchen was decent, though would be good if the hostel provided oil and salt and pepper.
Cons: Showers were temperamental and the showers in the ensuite bathrooms didn't work. Need to fill the boiled water for tea up more often as it was often empty.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Tours were great via Akilpo! Location was central! Had hot water although it took a while to get hot. Safes in the kitchen to put your food, kitchen was decent.
Cons: Very hot in the room and hard to ventilate it (small window). Also very thick blanket or a thin sheet so in the middle of the night you we're either cold or overheated. Didn't sleep too well here unfortunately
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful with arranging hikes. Our triple room (for 2) was very spacious. Good bathroom with decent shower (have to wait for water to get hot). Cleaned daily. Location great. Communal area is nice. Top floor terrace even nicer - quiet and great to watch afternoon rains!
Cons: Boiled water container available for hot drinks was rarely full. Bit noisy. FYI it's cash only payment, in soles or USD
7.9 Good
Pros: Very typical place really. The room was quite nice though the bathroom was again cold. The place itself had a very nice kitchen area as well as a lounge.
Cons: All the windows we had opened towards other internal rooms which was pretty weird. No way to get a draft in either. Also, would probably not recommend getting tours through the people at this hostel as the company they contract for most of them seemed to have its set of troubles (though no guarantee that the same wouldn't happen elsewhere).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in! Benjamin makes you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive and I can guarantee you that you will stay longer than you anticipate. Altogether a great place with excellent value!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Good vibe. Big kitchen. Super friendly staff.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Near the CRUZ DEL SUR bus terminal.
Cons: There is only one electrical socket in our room. (double room)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Definetely recommend booking at akilpo! The staff helped me with everything, rooms are clean and large communal area to meet other people. Also their travel agency is really good!

5.8 Okay
Pros: Shower was good. Hot, good pressure, reliable. We were placed at the back of the house which was relatively quiet (compared to the hustle and bustle of the street). Were allowed to use the kitchen to cook a basic evening meal.
Cons: Mattress covered in plastic sheeting which meant that bed sheet constantly slipped off mattress - impossible to keep it on. Made bed uncomfortable to sleep on. Big shame as bed ittsself would have been comfortable otherwise. Variable helpfulness of staff. Breakfast fine but quite small and limited options. Location is interesting - right amongst a sprawling street market. Cool but not ideal if you are looking for a relaxing stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were lovely and very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our 4 night stay here. The staff were the nicest people we have met in Peru on our trip. The room was clean , comfortable and modern. The breakfast was very nice. Our first room had weak WiFi signal but when we told the manager he quickly moved us to a different room where we had perfect WiFi it was no problem for him. He also organized an affordable trip to Laguna Paron which was great! Would definitely recommend this hotel
Cons: Staff were a little loud in their speaking to each other early in the mornings just to keep in mind that the noise travels far and can be disruptive
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuy amable! The host gave us enough time to take a rest before taking a night bus, paying for only 20 soles! You can take a tour like Parón lake, Pastoruri glacier, easily in reception!
Cons: A little bit cold, but it’s was HUARAZ.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms to the back, very quiet. Clean rooms, hostel always closed and we received a key to the massive metal gate. Eating area and kitchen can be used bu guests, modern and fully equipped. Very friendly owners, we met him for a nice discussion over a bottle of wine. Great full breakfast, directly cooked for us. Location is close to local and long distance bus terminals and to departure areas of many combinados. In the middle of market area. They offer tour contacts to the lagunas at cheap prices.
Cons: Rooms without external light, but sufficient ventilation.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Interesting location near the local central market, 10 minutes walk from the Cruz del Sur bus station and all the main sights in Huaraz. The room and the breakfast area were very clean. Staff very helpful but don't speak English. Definitely a good value choice for Huaraz.
Cons: My room overlooked the shopping street so a little noisy with loud music playing during trading hours. When walking you need a good map to orientate yourself back to the hostel!
7.9 Good
Pros: The place, the price, the convenience of getting from the hostal to anywhere
Cons: No soap, it takes long time for the hot water, not enough air ventilation
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, hot water, wonderful and helpful host. Excellent value for the price!
6.7 Good
Pros: Heating available upon request, bed was confortable. Helpful staff. Well located hostel.
Cons: Cold and humid room as there were no windows at all in the room nor the bathroom.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is gorgeous with incredible views. Located walking distance from central square, shops and restaurants.

7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, good value for money
Cons: Poor breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a great place. We ended up staying for 4 nights. Staff were great and helpful and spoke some English.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - Perfect location, close to bus station and main street, yet far enough to make it a quiet place to stay. - The host was super nice to us even we don’t know spanish. He let us wait at the property for the night bus. - Great view on the top floor. - Nice shower with hot water.
Cons: False check-out time! We were told the check-out time is 12:00. But the maid just open our door with her key WITHOUT KNOCKING at 09:30. And she open our door AGAIN and told us the check-out time is 11:00. Then she even wait outside our door and play music loudly to annoy us. This is RIDICULOUS.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located 5min away from the Plaza de Armas. You don’t really hear the noise of the streets. The room was ok for a few nights. The WiFi was really good. The staff was really nice and welcoming. After a day of trekking, there’s indeed the possibility to take a shower before traveling.
Cons: Rooms are a bit old-fashioned. The breakfast wasn’t great at all as it’s not a buffet like almost everywhere else. You are granted 1 glass of fresh orange juice and 1 egg. Nothing more... you can still have bread, bananas and tea, but the choice is very limited.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very accommodating staff
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff availability, poor value for money, continually ran out of hot water, nearly electrocuted by dodgy wiring of bedside lamp.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: OMG I left my money belt there with credit cards and cash, then i went on trek, when i got back they had whatsapped me that they had the belt ( i hadn't even noticed yet it was missing). Such honesty staff and such wonderful front desk staff . Thank you Jacal
Cons: Breakfast was not very good, they only had 2 servers and too many people to serve BUT the view is amazing from the roof top (inside seating)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just perfect. High class hostel with a great location, very quiet but 3-4 mins walk to city center. The rooms are big enough and very comfortable. The view from the rooftop for breakfast is beautiful. The hosts barely speak english but we comunicated well.

Pros: Our group arrived very early and well before check in time, but we were greeted with enthusiasm and warmth. Additionally, the staff provided us with wonderful breakfast and coffee despite that it was not necessarily offered on our arrival day. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host family was responsive, helpful, and friendly. They were always ready with tips and recommendations for activities in the local area. I felt like I was a part of their family. They kindly stored our excess luggage while we trekked in the Andes. I give my most sincere recommendation to La Casa de Maruja.

Pros: This was properly the best place we stayed in while being in peru! The place itself is very clean, good hot shower, basic breakfast and incredible view from a niece rooftop terrace. However best thing are the owners, they were helpful in every matter and made us feel like home. If you are planning to go trekking this is the perfect place to be. Hey can rent you things, and gilf, he owner is a guide himself and explains you everything. He also books you on tours for a good price. Pick up very early in the morning from the bus station was no problem either and we could check in to our room immediately. Also when coming back from trekking, we could return to our room and shower there.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Selina was comfortable, as usual.
Cons: The staff was really unfriendly, they don't smile and don't help you. I even felt sorry for asking if there is a laundry, because they make me feel uncomfortable, while I'm a really social person. I had my backpack in the storage room and asked if I can get something out of it. And the only answer I got was, I'm not gonna open it the whole time. Just stay here if you want comfortable beds, otherwise go somewhere else.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really cool
Cons: The pool table wasn't working, the stick where really bad. And the coffee wasn't as good as I expected!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really good, and the neighborhood good too. ant the place in general very good.
Cons: I have something to say for hot wáter, for me there was not how wáter on the showers, not really hot and not relaxing at all.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very chill and modern hostel. It was very clean.
Cons: There were no hot water at times. It was at the border of town.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Decoration, wifi, cinema room
Cons: Location is far from the center, tours are super expensive for what you have in huaraz, not enough bathrooms and always dirty, you never have paper in the bathrooms, room very noisy and with a lot of light, not a very comfy bed, horrible dirty kitchen, very cold all the time and very unfriendly staff at the arrival.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The views were nice, the common areas were comfortable.
Cons: My stay at this Selinas was a disappointment after having stayed at several other nice Selinas. The 8-bed dorm room was actually 2 interconnected 8-bed dorms so it was actually a 16-bed dorm and I got some stuff stolen from the dorm room that may not have happened if I was in an 8 bed dorm that I had booked and not a 16 bed dorm. The kitchen was always FILTHY - Nobody did their dishes, there were always dirty dishes laying around and the sink was always full of dirty dishes. Staff were very unhelpful and rude. Would not recommend anyone to stay here.
6.3 Good
Pros: Kitchen facilities were good. Staff was nice!
Cons: Private rooms were not isolated enough. Too noisy. Bar drinks were ridicolos expensive. Bit difficult to connect with other travellers in comparison with other hostels. THE PRICES WHICH WERE LISTED ON BOOKING WERE NOT THE SAME AS THE ACTUAL PRICES!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Selina Huaraz is an amazing hostel indeed, the WiFi is amazing, the hostel is clean and very cute!
Cons: The only thing it let me down was the food. Overpriced and super small quantity, I never was so disappointed with a hostel food in my life as I was there!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Selina is such a beautiful and comfortable hostel. There are tons of common areas beautifully decorated to make you feel at home. Also, hot showers (if you are backpacking, you know this is not a guaranteed thing in all hostels!). I personally like that the bunk beds in the community rooms have a slide curtain to provide a bit more privacy :)
Cons: The kitchen area can be better managed/cleaned.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good atmosphere, comfort rooms, hot water in the showers
Cons: Hostel restaurant serve small and expensive dishes, breakfast not included

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Super clean spacious rooms. You feel like in an expensive hotel. Loved it
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room was big, clean and had a Netflix tv.
Cons: The hotel’s sign was right outside our window and was lit at night, making the room very bright. The road was also quite noisy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendy and helpful Staff, nice breakfest included, clean rooms, nice showers with Hot water
7.5 Good
Cons: Do not take the tours offered by their "trusted friend" who will just scan yo u and upsell tours of other operators. The hotel will get a percentage of this. Instead look for Tour operators like "Corazon de Jesus" or others that will offer you a fair price!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large room, great shower, comfortable bed, clean, good parking.
Cons: A kitchenette somewhere on the property would be nice.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The wifi was excellent (streaming video level!) at all rooms we stayed in (one on the second floor and one on the top floor!). The beds were really comfortable, the bathrooms kept really clean, towels provided, loads of space in the secure parking to park our car. Staff were pretty friendly and the breakfast was basic but good.
Cons: Not their fault, but the location is slightly out of town. But all good to get the legs moving. This isn't a 'hostel' in the European sense - it's a hotel. A good hotel, but absolutely no atmosphere from a traditional 'hostel' perspective.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super clean spacious rooms. Feels much more expensive then actually costs.
6.3 Good
Pros: Warm shower, good wifi, good breakfast
Cons: no windows to the outside for our room so no possible ventilation. Staff was unfriendly and hotel was loud at night during the weekend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is top notch. Value is excellent: you get a big room with comfortable beds and a big and clean bathroom for 10$ per night. Water pressure in the shower is awesome as well. Breakfast is meh but for the price you cant complain. You get a serving of scrambled eggs, bread and juice or tea. I would definetly recommend
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect for the price.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very clean, big rooms, great shower. Breakfast is simple but ok - 2 buns, one egg, butter, jam, fresh juice, tea/coffe. Good wifi connection.
Cons: The room 408 has no outside window, the hot water connection was broken, really bad smell from the bathroom. Room 310 was much better.
