Exceptional good service - It’s worth a visit just to explore the service and perfect atmosphere. Breakfast also pretty good, and a lovely garden and pool - I will definitely like to come back.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say
The hotel is beautiful. The pool is gorgeous and the room was the biggest room we'd had in any of our hotels. We had a cute balcony, and beautiful bathroom. The hotel has a shuttle leaving every 2 hours into the Hoi An town (or you can walk ~25 minutes into town) and also picks you up right on the edge of town every 2 hours. The best part about our stay was the shuttle to the beach (leaving 3x a day). The shuttle takes you to a beach club to use free or charge. you can lay out in the cabanas, or get a nice sun bed on the quiet, beautiful beach. There is beachside food and drink service (not free). This was the best part of our stay!
The hospitality here was very disappointing compared to the other cities and hotels we stayed in in Vietnam. First, we had some flight issues (cancellations..rescheduling) and were thinking that we would have to cancel our trip to Hoi An. We contacted the hotel with a few days notice and they would not offer any sort of cancellation policy. We would've had to pay 100% of the ticket price either way. We had another hotel booked in Hoi An too and they were more than happy cancelling our stay. We also had the worst massage ever there. Avoid the Vietnamese massage. Our masseuses spoke to each other the whole time, never asked us which massage we had booked, they were very rough, and they finished well under 60 minutes that we had booked. We also never felt like the staff was super friendly. They didn't smile, or offer any assistance or tips for the city. I had to ask for a map. We had experienced incredibly hospitality in other cities, but this pace missed the mark. Room cleaning also waited until late in the afternoon to come by, literally right as we got home because it started to downpour. Why didn't they come during the day while we were out ??? Also the Wifi was spotty.
The staff here are lovely, particularly the lady on the front desk with the tattoos, she gave us lots of information about the area and was always helpful. I like the direct but friendly attitude the people of HoiAn have. The breakfast was one of the top 5 of all the breakfasts we had over our 2 week trip. We didn’t use the pool but it was a nice size and it would have been relaxing to sit by there after a long hot day exploring. Unfortunately the pool closes at 6pm so we were unable to use it as we returned home later than this most days
The hotel itself is lovely but quite dated, you notice that as soon as you enter reception where the furniture is old and tired. The bedroom soft furnishings must also be many years old and could do with refreshing. The tiles in our room were clean but had stains that had seeped into them, they need to be cared for and treated properly as it makes the room look unclean when it isn’t. The room also had a damp musty smell which seems to be a common problem in many of the hotels in Vietnam have but there should be a way of fixing or preventing this. The pool is closed at 6pm so if you spend your day out exploring you may not be able to use it to cool down if that is part of your reasoning for staying here.
staff v friendly
being woken by building work outside
The friendly staff and the food
The noise from building work that was taking place on the second floor starting at 06:00 and lasting most of the day
