The hotel is just great. It has a spa on the rooftop and the views from the reception are a plus. Rooms are comfty and spacious. Location is very central, just walking distance from main tourist attractions
I had been looking forward to trying a Candeo hotel for a while now as they generally feature very attractive rooftop baths and that's a requirement of mine. And I hate to use this as a "plus," but due to the ongoing coronavirus situation the hotels are at record-low capacity and prices have dropped dramatically--due to that, I was able to book a King Suite w/ Bath for a ridiculously low price. The set-up of the room was absolutely phenomenal. It was situated on the top floor of the building (and I think there were only two suites on the entire floor) and was a corner unit with floor-to-ceiling windows spanning two sides of the room giving you an amazing panoramic view of the city. The bed was firm and huge, everything screamed luxury and there was even a private outdoor bath attached to the bathroom. Even better, the hotel's public bath with rotenburo was located on the same floor and just down the hall from the room. And to top it all off, there was a phenomenal Italian restaurant on the first floor where I had some fantastic pasta, pizza and wine. Good food, good bath and the perfect room for some adult fun afterwards? Doesn't get any better.
Two minor gripes. One, for a "king suite," the room wasn't particularly big and I had nowhere to lay-out our two medium suitcases, which is generally something you're able to do in a "suite." We only stayed one night so this wasn't a huge deal, but it was rather annoying trying to pull things out of my bag without opening it fully. Two, the area, Hatchobori, isn't exactly the most convenient to get to from Hiroshima Station. You need to hop on the Hiroden Streetcar and it's about a ten minute ride. Not a big deal and not very far, but that streetcar is the only thing I really hate about downtown Hiroshima. The area itself was fine, as the city is so small you can walk to basically anywhere of interest (and we did walk to the Peace Park from the hotel) and there were some great places to eat and drink nearby, but I just wish it was two or three stops from Hiroshima Station instead of six or seven.
Consider having a fancy couch with enough space to open up a big luggage, I'd have a second thought next time
Very clean and well furnished business hotel
The cleanliness was superb
Slightly far from the train station
Very new place so it’s quite clean and quirky.
The breakfast was a mad. Got there early and it still took 30 minuets to get though the buffet line.
