Conveniently located near a tram stop and not far from a port (with the ferry departures for Suomenlinna). Room was as described, very minimal but clean and practical. Sauna in the morning is free but not till late. We slept in so we missed it.
A lot of serviced which are free in other hostels or cheaper are monetized. The layout and the way this hostel is styled it feels like some sort of military barrack, doesn't feel cozy or inviting (which is something I appreciate when travelling). The showers had frosted glass pane doors which didn't go all the way up or down and are open (like do not join, there is a sizeable gap) in the middle of the stall. Basically, you shower and a) show your bum to anyone passing by b) flood the shower floor. Seriously guys, closing shower stalls a bit more is a thing.
Great location since we used Viking Line for getting in and out! Everything was pretty much as expected.
There's really not a lot of room in bathrooms and during the day, the ladies shower was not working (no water) for some reason. Definitely do bring along slippers to go to bathroom. Just one sink for the whole floor for brushing teeth+toilet+shower seems a bit below par these days.
Clean and comfortable hostel. Doors are quiet and bathrooms are separated from rooms. Overall a good set-up.
I was expecting worse for that price and I was quite surprised it was actually a really nice hostel. We were lucky to have arrived in a day where I think it was not that many people on our floor so it was ok with noise and the toilets. We stayed in a twin bed room for a night and the bed was not good but for one night I managed. It was clean enough in the room and the bed linen looked really white and clean. It was walkable to the city center, although a bit of a walk and we always took the tram that was near by. Staff is super nice and they let you keep your bags there after you check out. It was a really nice surprise and a really nice hostel. I do recommend
The bed was not that great and the curtain...If you are sensitive to the light while sleeping ask for a room with a good curtain. There is only one toilet for female and male in our floor. Like I said there wasn't that many people when we stayed so it was really fine but the day we left there was a huge group checking in and that might cause a problem
Clean and tidy.
Extremely thin walls, so much so they openly advertise rooms with thicker ones.
