Facilities are good and clean.
Location a bit isolated. Food was terrible.
Breakfast was OK,
At the time of our visit we were woke every morning at 5am due to ongoing construction works next to the hotel. Facilities - bar, restaurant , sections of swimming pool closed. Very limited staff spoke English. Room was not to the standard that we expected. Buffet dinner was very limited
The rooms were nice and the bed good. They have two very nice swimming pools outside which are an attraction on their own. Also very suitable for children. Also a big balcony to relax on with seaview. The design of the hotel is funny made ike an old Chinese wooden palace.
The entrance of the hotel was difficult to find. When you follow the signs you arrive at the rear entrance which you discover after you open the door and don't see a lobby. To come at the main entrance you need to drive around through a construction environment which is not clear signed. We saw other guests making the same mistake. Unbelievable that they don't improve this with a clear plate at the rear entrance. Only the people at the lobby could speak English. I tried to order a beer at the swimming pool but didn't succeed to make this clear. I think it's not too difficult t put someone around the swimming pool who can speak at least a little bit English. We are talking here about the Marriott and not a local Chinese hotel. Around the hotel is nothing to find in terms of restaurants or shops. It's a new developed area which is still under construction around the hotel.
The staff were very polite and helpful.
Nobody is at the counter at the entrance to one of the restaurants. I went there twice and there was no staff in both occasions. I was subsequently told by staff in another restaurant that there was another counter further inside the restaurant. If this is the case, then there should be a notice or signage to direct customers into the restaurant.
interesting architecture, Large rooms that are utilized well in terms of layout, good recognition of bonvoy members, decent breakfast spread which was well supplied, overall probably the best value for money of any marriott I've stayed in (10+ across APAC)
location is slightly remote but that comes with the holiday resort format
