6.0 Good
Pros: Location was great & the view over the Lake was stunning. We could walk into town in the evening for a meal . Swimming pool was pleasant. The public areas in the hotel were ok .
Cons: Breakfast was not value for money at 15€ per person. The only hot dish offered but only for the first 2 days was scrambled egg which looked awful. For the rest of the week as we got up early no eggs at all . So we just had the continental breakfast ,a nice selection but expensive. The decor in the bedroom was awful & the very old looking purple cushions on the bed were completely unnecessary. Gérardmer prides itself on making amazing bed linen, why not use it in the hotel ? And the sliding doors on the bathroom & toilet need sorting out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cool people, rooms spa and resto!!!
Cons: It was all good!!!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great location with views over the lake. Nice and clean. Good on-site parking.
Cons: Not enough staff. Bar was not staffed and had no beer on draught. No air-conditioning in the rooms, as the weather was hot, this made the rooms uncomfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Junior Suite is renovated and has a great view on the lake
Cons: The spa was a bit small - limited to 10 people with very little space for relaxation and also difficult to book a massage with 24 hours notice . The dine in on the roof felt homy but service wasn’t that great as well as food.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast. Excellent location. Easy access to pool. Towels given at reception. Lift for easier access Great parking facilities.
Cons: Restaurant booked up all week. Seemed very expensive and poor choice. We had to go out every night for dinner. Not great when the weather is poor and you have young kids.

Cons: Rooms somewhat noisy

6.7 Good
Pros: The location is good, free parking space, extremely polite , friendly and helpful staff - they absolutely deserve to be praised for this!
Cons: Poor wifi connection- kept kicking me out on both - my laptop and mobile phone. There is barely space to turn around for 1 person, how 2 are expected to be staying there I don't know I could hear everything from the neighbour's rooms, and when the people in the room above mine were in and walking around- their floor was so loud on every step, I thought my ceiling will fall down! Having this in mind & the price of this "pleasure", I don't think I would be staying there again.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: This auberge is up near the top of the ski resort, so can be tricky to get to in the winter (if it is full snow, which it wasn't for us, you can not drive there). Once there though it is pure magic. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurant has great local cuisine and a good selection of drinks too. Even with the lack of snow it was busy with hikers during lunch, but in the evenings it is quiet and lovely. It's a quick hike to the top of the ski hill for starwatching at night, and the local MTB/snowshoe trails are great for exploring and are right there. We'll be back in the summertime for a mountain biking adventure for sure.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, ski lift right in front of the property. Really nice atmosphere inside the pub as well
Cons: Room was a bit small for 3 persons, especially because of all the ski equipment

6.7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Very low quality for the price
6.0 Good
Pros: Hotel Beau Rivage had very nice views and perfect location (Hotel de la Paix moved our reservation)
Cons: Hotel de la Paix moved our reservation due to being closed for annual leave even though the bookings were still available on booking.com. I had issues liaising with reception due to language barriers. We had to extend our stay due to a snow storm, I found better prices via booking.com and notified the hotel who stated the price was the same but in the end it was more expensive.
7.9 Good
Pros: Older Property, could use a touch of paint, but confortable. Great renovated bathroom. Good shower. Separate toilet. Impeccably dressed staff.
Cons: Except for Breakfast no food or drink on premise. You have to go next door to the sister hotel property. Breakfast buffet good but at 9 Euros, a little expensive. Be aware that dogs are welcome, Just heard one a couple of time

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfy and loved the balcony and staff very helpful / food amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful! We upgraded for not much more and had a suite! Sitting room, large veranda with 2 sun beds and 2 easy chairs and coffee table, nice bedroom, dressing area and bathroom with double sink. The food was incredible and the waiters professional and kind. I loved the pool area, both inside and out. The whole reception team were amazing, helping us book a vets appointment, a restaurant for our third night, storing stuff in their freezer and helping me when I left my I pad by the outside pool. We enjoyed a lovely tray of Earl grey tea in our room every afternoon and went on a beautiful walk right from the hotel An absolutely wonderful stay and highly recommended
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely alpine room very spacious
Cons: Proximity to busy, noisy road.
6.0 Good
Pros: Very nice hotel. Nice nature around. Nice room and views. Nice small spa facilities. Lots of character - fireplace, piano music.
Cons: Worse wi-fi ever. Bad service for a very expensive breakfast. The high price of the breakfast is not justified by quality or service. We ordered fried eggs with sausage and bacon. Eggs arrived in 30 minutes ( following a couple of reminders) the half sausage and tiny piece of bacon didn’t arrive at the same time as the eggs, but another 10 minutes later and on top of that it was raw. We also ordered pancakes that never arrived and when we asked about them it was clear our order was forgotten. We were very disappointed with the whole experience. Reception ladies were the only nice, service oriented staff members.
Hotel Gerard d'Alsace - Gérardmer - Building

7.9 Good (306 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Gérard d'Alsace in Gerardmer, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of La Bresse-Hohneck and Gerardmer Ski Resort. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cozy, clean, polite staff. Very near the lake and 5 min walk to the centre.
Cons: A little expensive for what it is - we paid approx 200 euro per night for the room in a 3 star hotel in a little town in the Vosges Mountains. Breakfast was on top. This kind of prices I expect in big cities or in a big skiing resort. No common room to hang out in the evening - there are a few armchairs in the lobby but it’s a comfortable area to spend any time. All ski hotels I’ve stayed in offer a cozy common room to enjoy the evenings with family and friends.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Super comfy bed which was most welcome after a day of walking! The staff are friendly and the location is great. A few minutes walk to the lake one way and five minutes into the town the other way.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room and really nice staff. Very accommodating.
7.9 Good
Pros: Both lakeside and town center are within 5 minute walking distance. Nice light big room. Classic reception and restaurant. Nice swimmingpool to cool off
Cons: The hotel is on a rather busy road. If you keep the windows close this is no problem, but if it’s hot....WiFi is pretty spotty.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Great location, close to center.
Cons: In the middle of winter too cold rooms and bathroom, heating not functioning properly and weak window isolation. There was no curtain for taking a shower. No hairdryer in the bathroom cabinet. Weak internet. Dirty bathroom.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Near town center, quiet.
7.5 Good
Pros: The host was very nice and kind, giving us the possibility to use the common spaces also after check-out. The hotel is perfectly located close to the city center, the lake, main access road. Perfect to attend or participate to the Gerardmer Triathlon. The room was big enough for 4 people.
Cons: Price quite high... All properties were sold-out for the Triathlon race, so in a way I can understand the logic. Hotel furniture and style is very typical for the place, but here and there some renovation would be welcome.

7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was standard French fare and good with it, fresh bread, croissants and coffee. The Hotel was really clean and the rooms basic but comfortable, suited us on cost and that we were out all day anyway.
Cons: It is what it is a no frills traditional French hotel. Saying that maybe it's time for bit of modernisation to bring the decor into the 21st century?.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: I really did not like anything there, i will never go again!
Cons: The room was looking like it was still in construction, i was dirty inside, and it was so cold, really very very cold, we had to sleep with our coat on us.It was awful!Everything look very old, and dirty! We did not enjoy at all! They also have a couple of Spa facilities which were pleasant to use after a long walk. Breakfast with local organic products and home made delights was also a great part of the stay. The view from the room was lovely, overlooking the mountains, and a short ride will lead us to the Lake Gerardmer. Perfect stay!
