Quaint, charming, magical, beautiful, majestic!
I loved everything!
The setting is lovely, inviting, and peaceful. The staff went out of their way to provide service. The bed was superb!!!!!
That we had to be fleeing Dorian to discover what a special piece of old Gainesville can become
This Inn is actually a collection of several different properties: at least two Victorian Style Houses and a collection of Cottages. We stayed in the Tea Rose Room in the Cushman-Colson House. I liked that the room we chose was exactly as pictured on the website! The Italian Chandelier in the bedroom was absolutely beautiful, and my favorite part of the decor. The bed was extremely comfortable and the little touches, such as a personal coffee pot and mugs in the room were thoughtful and unexpected. I loved the classical music that was played softly throughout the entire house- it added to the feeling of a Romantic getaway. We were instantly smitten with the atmosphere of the Grounds upon arrival. The Gardens are extensive and lovely, with walking paths and statuary. We found out later in the evening that the Inn is also a popular Venue for Weddings, which explained the Romanticism. The Breakfast that was served each morning was fulling and delicious- it was served family style with an incredible variety of dishes- from spinach-bacon quiche to french toast casserole to cheese grits and greens. If you didn't see something you liked, you weren't trying hard enough!
The only thing I didn't like is that we had to check out. Sigh.
Beautiful garden. Free wine and cheese happy hour.
