9.6 Excellent
Pros: This Is the second time I stay. We are 4 adults and 2 kids. drive in 15 mins to supermarket. The kitchen has cooking equipment that you need. Good for the family trip.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Configuration of the unit, eg. bedrooms are too Crampy. And, The ladder that leads up to the loft area which is under utilised, there’s no toys Nor proper bed. Leaves one wondering.. What is it for? Leaving it this way makes it rather eerie then. Also, Bed is too hard.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location right near the Kitanomine Gondola Station, very comfortable 2 story serviced chalet with compact kitchen with decent but simple cooking facilities, great bathroom and washing machine/dryer. Beautiful outlook from second story balcony across Furano. Some cafes and restaurants in local area, cheap (but infrequent) bus to town from nearby, chalet offers pick up/drop off service for train arrivals. Responds quickly to inquiries.
Cons: Noise insulation between upper/lower floors was poor, also between neighbouring chalet. No area for ski/snowboard tuning/repair. Furano Town (with more restaurant variety/supermarkets/shops etc) is a 10minute drive away from ski resort area (bus/taxi available)

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was hearty and colourfull!! Is very near Furano Delice.
Cons: U do need to drive in order to access the place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was warm. A wood stove is lit in the common space in the evening on cool night’s and you can cuddle with a kitty if you want. Amazingly—my cat allergic husband had no problem!! Rooms are spotless, ample and comfortable (a very well done recent remodel). Western beds only, I believe. Nice showers. Breakfast western with egg dish and breakfast meat. But also with salad and fresh fruit showcasing the bounty of the area. We would stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is as comfort as you’re at your home.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, feel like home , good food and excellent service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This accommodation is really exceeding my expectation. It is not expensive at all but it has EVERYTHING. My boyfriend and I spent a night just enjoying the living room on the reception floor. We ate our dinner (take-away from convenience store) on the tatami, we spent time using the massage chair to relax and we drink tea prepared in the self-service bar. This accommodation is nothing close to luxury but it was so cosy. We just loved it so much. I can imagine this can be a really good choice for winter if you go skiing because it is very close to the lift station! The breakfast was massive and the host cooked very well. The view from the window in the breakfast room changes everyday. The changeable weather has made the mountain really mysterious.
Cons: Maybe, upon arrival, the receptionist can tell us that we can use the living room freely (we just found out on the 2nd night that we can use it freely!) But this is just a bonus, it doesn't hurt anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast and clean room.
Cons: No elevator and a little bit inconvenient to carry beggar, but hopefully the front desk person helped to carry on to different floor but you should take them down before you check it out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Highly recommended!! The view is amazing, the staff is wonderful kind and very friendly! I‘ve got an upgrade for a bigger room with beautiful view over the mountains! The breakfast is delicious as well! Free parking at the house! I will stay again!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The place is nice, clean and staff friendly. Only see a cat once during check in.. so that's good for us. : )
Cons: Nothing. Note that there is no lift at this property but saw the staff is very helpful in carrying 2 large luggages up the stairs for 2 guests. There are rooms on the ground level too.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Dinner was like a delicious kaiseki and great value. I get a feeling that the bigger the group eating there, the more inspired the chef gets (who doubles as the owner’s wife). The pension has good views since it is located beside a vineyard and overlooks the vast farmlands. Jimmy the owner was very flexible and accommodating with my requests. The family bath was fun to use.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly host Cheap and delicious breakfast and dinner Cosy and comfortable room Free transport by the host from/to any nearby location Large bathroom which you can share with family and friends
Cons: The bedroom walls are thin, had minor difficulties sleeping due to noisy neighbors
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jimmy san and family provide such a wonder place and experience at their Pension. Jimmy san has really good English and was always kind enough to drop us off or pick us up from town. The food was beautifully and lovingly prepared and was a highlight of or 20 day trip of Japan. Scenery was amazing with the country side covered in snow. The traditional (but private) hot tub was a great treat too after a hard day on the ski slopes. Thoroughly recommend for the people and experience.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The house was very cosy, everything we need are easily accessible- though toilet and bathroom are shared facilities, they are maintained very clean, no hassle at all during our stay.
Cons: We need to get to the nearest town (about 5 min drive) by car.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: it was a great stay. the owner, Jimmy, was very good at English and was very convenient for that reason.
Cons: I expected a little better menu of the food but, I guess, my expectation was too high. ^^
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and cosy. We are not able to use the washer because some other guests have already booked it. We wash our clothings at he launderette. Owner Jimmy was very kind to let us use the dryer free.
7.5 Good
Pros: Bath room with onsen
Cons: Noise proof not good enough, esp noise from next room n corridor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Pension Ashitaya for the first time in January this year and had no hesitation in staying again in March for the excellent spring skiing at Furano. Jimmy san and his family are perfect hosts and go out of their way to make your stay in their excellent establishment as enjoyable as possible. The food is delicious and I highly recommend having dinner in. The location on the hills just outside town delivers superb views and a chance to see some of the local wildlife. A fox trotted past the windows of the dinning room one evening an a pure white mountain hare turned up the next night. Jimmy drove us to the lifts each day and collected us at whatever time we nominated in the afternoon making stops at the shops or local winery if we liked. This is a great place to stay if you want a genuine experience of some of the language, food, customs and culture of Japan.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful host with great food and comfortable room. Shared bathroom facilities spotless and accessible. Lovely wood accents enhance properties charm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the Breakfast is good, sophisticated and decent. Coffee is good too.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Awesome Place, very clean and organized. Host are super friendly speaking also pretty good english and are helpful with local knowledge to get familar with the surrounding. Rooms are small but sweet. We had a a room with a small bathroom additional there is a large communal Japanese style wash room with a large bath tub and showers also super clean, quite cool. Highly recommended.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly, room was comfy n clean. Surprisingly it's a 21years old cottage but everything looks newly renovated. Spotlessly clean in bathroom.
Cons: Air conditioner turned off in the middle of the night. Without a car would be difficult to get there. Road leading in to cottage was not lit.
7.1 Good
Pros: The dinning area was pretty and very cozy. The satff was friendly and helpful. It was clean and smelt good everywhere!
Cons: We were surprised that the toilet didn't have a washlet seat in a Japanese accomadation. The room was really very small and there was barely space to walk.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: So nice staff Very clean Great breakfast
9.2 Excellent
Pros: beautiful at the begining of the ,montains
Cons: you need a car to get there easely
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cosy little place tucked along a small hill 20 mins walk from New Furano Prince Hotel. Easy to travel to popular spots like Furano Cheese Factory and Farm Tomita. The owner really went above and beyond for us, especially when we ended up staying an extra night because of 6 Sep’s earthquake. She did not charge us and still managed to provide us with warm food, bathwater and information every step of the way.
Cons: No lights along the 250m walk towards the property. Travel by car absolutely necessary.
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly family pension. Excellent breakfast. Simple but very clean and pleasant
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved this gem located in the forest below the Furano ski slopes. It is very simple but the room has whatever you need. A delicious breakfast with coffee or tea is available, or you can walk up to the Prince Hotel or Ningle village cafe (a pleasant morning walk). The family is lovely and helpful. The dog is delightful. The dog will stay away if you don’t like dogs, but is happy to befriend you if you want to meet her. We stayed in a few places during our trip, and this was our favorite!
Cons: A little difficult to get to, but is findable on GPS so we had no problem once we listened to the GPS

Pros: Near Furano Train Station. A fine hotel in a small town. Cannot complain. Also, do not have anything to be fond of.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, convenient, cozy and comfortable.
Cons: Room a bit small
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. On leaving the station in Furano one can read the Hotel name on the white building. The room was simple at a good price. The bathroom has been updated by putting the vanity into the dressing area.
Cons: It had no real character, but was functional.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very nice and always attentive to our requests. We asked them for a cork screwer for a wine bottle we had bottle, and they offered to provide wine glasses, which was nice. The hotel is close to the train station, which is good for those travelling by public transports. It also has free car parking outside.
Cons: We found a peanut shell in our bedroom floor, which shows that cleaning wasn't very thorough. The hotel has an onsen, but it's a bit small comparing with others we've been to: only 3–4 people can fit in the woman side. It was a plus though, since we weren't even expecting the hotel to offer an onsen at all.
7.9 Good
Pros: Enough Free Parking. Coin Laundry. Washing Machine and Nespresso machine in Deluxe Room. Triple Room and Deluxe room sizes are comfortable. Close to amenities but nearest convenience store would be a 15min walk? Staff provided nearby maps of amenities in both english and chinese. Some staff speak fluent mandarin and they can help you make restaurants reservations.
Cons: The Deluxe Room was away from the main building. The Double Rooms were really small. Collected fees for small children sharing existing bed. No full length mirror in deluxe room:(

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent facilities. My family enjoy the hot spring, soft drink bar and plenty of space for kids. Very good breakfast. Room is comfortable and clean. Staff is helpful and friendly. I was trying to look for a map code, front desk staff did offer excellent help. Overall experience is excellent. Highly recommend for family stay.
Cons: Curtain at the room need to improve, it is not blocking sun light at all especially sun raises at 5:00am during summer time. Dinner choice is limited and expensive. We thought of having dinner in the hotel (don't want to drive out again for dinner) saving for time to relax at the hotel. However, dinner choice limited to buffet and quite expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff, perfect location, good non spring onson, great locker room for ones gear, excellent breakfast. I was particularly impressed by the foreign guests manager who was helpful in sorting out issues and overcoming my inability to speak Japanese.
Cons: Dinner, while the food and choices were very good the price at about 4000 yen for an all you can eat buffet without alcohol was a bit on the high side. There are good places to dine within walking distance that will set you back about 2000 yen for a good dinner with alcohol. I might have missed a non buffet option that cost less but that is a hotel problem in not making it obvious as an option.
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to slopes - great staff! Loved the snacks and drinks :)
7.9 Good
Pros: Service and welcome snack and drink while checking in is satisfactory.
Cons: Rooms are so small.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with unique design for families. Everything was very comfortable, the room was great, very clean and had everything we needed. The onsen was great too. the staff members were very helpful.
Cons: We were disappointing of almost nothing for vegan in breakfast, although we wrote the hotel in advance. Even some of ,the vegetables that were there were with fish soup. . Also all the hotel smells with fish cooking except for the rooms It is recommended to add technological solution for this. but everything else was really wonderful and we enjoyed our staying there.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Onsen was great. Breakfast selection was great. Staff were super friendly. In house wears provided greatly enhanced overall experience.

Hotel Edel Warme - Furano - Building
11
8.1 Excellent (622 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Edel Warme in Furano, you'll be on the boardwalk, within a 5-minute drive of Furano Ski Resort and Asahigaoka Sogotoshi Park. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Pros: Spacious and comfortable room.
Cons: Bathroom was too small given the size of the room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Strongly recommend booking breakfast buffet - otherwise difficult to find somewhere to eat, and good selection available each day. 7/11 and coin laundry nearby, quite a number of small, inexpensive restaurants available for dinner (although some may be fully reserved, and most open from 6pm). Good ski hire across the road, very close to Kitanomine ski area (2 blocks, but have to walk up hill). NOT ski-in ski-out, but shuttle buses to both ski areas (first one arrives 905am to Kitanomine on weekdays, so if booking a lesson at 9am, you may have to walk). Beautiful, quiet area, amazing snow, enjoyed the public baths, but BYO onsen cloth.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is located in a quiet area in Furano. The room is clean and spacious.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was spacious.
Cons: No washer/driers. Bathroom was tiny.
7.9 Good
Pros: Accessibility to the ski area -- very convenient! They provided small sized yukata for kids, which we loved. It was also very convenient to get to Sapporo/Chitose airport from the hotel since this was a scheduled stop for the shuttle bus. There was ample parking space so parking was never a problem.
Cons: Breakfast was so-so, could be better in terms of variety.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location , ample car park .
Cons: Some staffs are not friendly , very dated room and facilities
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Large clean comfortable rooms. Good range & quantity at breakfast buffet. Helpful friendly staff despite our lack of Japanese language. Just a few blocks down the hill from the ski field. Great free hotel shuttle service to ski if organised daily. Close to lots of charming local eateries in the surrounding streets. Walking distance to the main town if you are feeling like exploring.
Cons: Would not recommend hiring ski/snowboard equipment from the hotel - appeared to have limited supply of gear & no real fitting service. As recommended by another reviewer, we found Harro’s across the road was fantastic for hiring gear - good quality current boots & gear + attentive staff. Space available to store snow gear at hotel though you need to walk to an outside area to access this. Some guests took their gear to their rooms.

6.7 Good
Pros: Good location , good breakfast and helpful staff

Pros: We were on a motorcycle trip and the location was convenient for us with free parking. The staff were very friendly. The room was very big. It was good value for money.
Cons: I thought it would have been nice to have a sofa in our room. There was enough space. We took a bath both nights which was very big and nice though we had to clean it ourselves the first night before we could fill it.

Pros: Location and value for money Staff is nice.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Its clean
Cons: They didnt speak in english so not well informed
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff can converse quite well in English. Breakfast (though not sure if it's worth the $) was great. Loved the bamboo pickles.
Cons: Stayed in 別館, heater in the room emits an awful kerosene smell when started, we ended up using the aircon to raise the temperature instead. Probably can advise travelers on that, especially those from non-seasonal countries.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant which is part of the hotel serves wonderful & spicy ramen and rice with venison options (their specialty) They have 2 staff who speaks mandarin so its very helpful
Cons: Its a very small town, there are really not much to do. However as we are there for a night stay (so thats ok) as the room & bedding is good
7.9 Good
Pros: The place was clean and well maintained. The heating worked well, and that night was especially cold, so that's good. We had dinner in the property's restaurant and it was delicious
Cons: The place is pretty basic consideing the price, also, it seems there's a bunch of stuff stored in the room which seems completely unrelated to our stay in the room.
7.9 Good
Pros: Cleanliness and well maintained. The location is near Tomamu Unkai Terrace.
Cons: The dinning area is a bit small and could not cater 6 persons. The hotel did not provide any fork and spoon. The housekeeper did not check thoroughly as we found a man underwear on the bed. My girl felt very uneasy sleeping on the bed. The price that we paid a bit high.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and they also operate a restaurant
Cons: The pillow is extremely soft and Low
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location, near the supermarket
Cons: Miscommunication about my dinner expense, inclusive? No.

Pros: Friendly atmosphere at the hostel. There’s always some other guests around if you want to socialize. I you prefer to keep to yourself, the house is big enough that you can do that too.
Cons: Bed was hard
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and price were excellent. We had a private room with 4 beds.
Cons: We did not bring our own towels and were unable to bathe....perhaps this was our fault but we were hoping we could borrow one or two. There were not any available.

Pros: Cheap but not near JR station
Cons: A bit dirty
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Facilities were great. Onsen was awesome.
Cons: Not much atmosphere, but that was probably because it was early in the Summer season. Long walk from the JR station but would be ideal for skiing/snowboarding in winter as is right near the slopes.

7.5 Good
Pros: Functional and clean
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Honestly was not expecting much from this place initially. Accommodation was very limited around my budget and most places were unavailable. Was kinda dreading the prospect of shared toilets and bathrooms. However this place exceeded my non-existent expectations as the place was very clean and pretty spacious among the common areas. Room was decent with mattresses on a tatami mat floor. Most surprising part was the clean toilets and bathrooms. There were at least 5 toilet mini-rooms on the 2nd floor itself and they were all clean. There are also 4 sinks with mirrors you could use. Bathroom was pretty big with an dry annex area right outside the wet area itself. Was fortunate to avoid queues for the bathroom. At least there was a sofa outside the bathrooms for people to wait. Free parking around the building. Short drive to some good meal places and convenience stores.
Cons: Your experience may vary according to the other guests present during your stay. Mine were surprisingly decent, cause mainland people were stereo-typically semi-civilized lol. Location isn't the greatest, but the town doesn't have much anyway.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Value for money. Experience living in a typical japan Minshuku. Cheap stay recommended if u r stopping by Furano to sleep a night. Clean place to sleep. Cleanliness was excellent.
Cons: Not recommended for young children as the room wasn’t sound proof. Only one bathroom, luckily that we din stay during peak period. No lift so dun bring luggage. Backpack is easier. Not recommended for old people, can stay at first floor instead. 2nd level accessible via stairs. Bathroom is at level 1. No good restaurant at walking distance.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I did not arrive at the accomodation with high expectations, as it was the only hostel in our trip. However, I was pleased to have a decent sized family room and clean bathrooms. The tatami mattresses were comfortable. There was also a hot tub in the bathroom ready for use.
Cons: Could have had en suite bathrooms. Could provide towels free of charge
5.4 Okay
Pros: Clean and quiet.
Cons: There is no air conditioner in the room especially in this hot weather period. Need to wait for a long time to take shower as there are a lot of people to share but just two bathroom. Need to have your own towel otherwise you need to pay for it. Not really convenient which is far away from convenient stores and restaurants.
7.1 Good
Pros: The price is still acceptable in the flower season. The staff was very enthusiastic and introduced the Furano market.
Cons: The kettle is in every room, but the base of the kettle is in the corridor. So you need to boil water in the corridor. The sound insulation is really bad. The public sink is on the wall of the corridor and is the same wall as the room. Someone started washing at 5 o'clock in the morning (or midnight)and would wake you up. You can hear even if someone is talking softly outside the room (in the corridor). By the way, We can't open the pillow and can only tell you that the pillow core feels filled with a lot of plastic cylindrical particles, and it is hard and loud. . . It is really uncomfortable.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is good. Near jr Furano
8.8 Excellent
Pros: good location and clean.
Cons: if host can give more guidance in local sights will bebetter

6.3 Good
Pros: This hotel has onsen
Cons: Location is too far from town.
7.9 Good
Pros: Hot spring
Cons: Not easy to get variety of food choice
4.6 Okay
Pros: Probably the clean onsen water.
Cons: Read mix reviews on booking.com before booking but decided to give it a try due to the nice lavender field at hotel. But when we check in before end aug, the lavender are all dried up. Nice fragrance though. There is no lift at the hotel to the rooms at all. So, left the big luggage in car and make a few runs to get our stuff. They do offer to carry your luggage up the stairs to room though. Requested for room with good view during booking and again at check in but given a room not facing the lavender field but the carpark below (noisy) and forest. No view at all. Went back to reception and ask again and was only informed then that they have no rooms facing the lavender field. Hotel looks (& IS) old particularly when walking towards the room. Hotspring water and bed are clean. However, when you look up to the ceiling at onsen, there are tons of cobwebs. When you are having breakfast and look out, you can see the cobwebs at the exterior wall of the building as well. Really spoilt the mood and wonder how can a hotel be in this state. Dinner so so.
7.5 Good
Pros: Dinner and breakfast is good
Cons: no Wifi and network connection is poor
7.9 Good
Pros: onsen is good, especially the outdoor onsen.
5.0 Okay

10.0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! I CAN'T EVEN FIND ANYTHING TO DISLIKE!!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We brought our food to the hotel as we don’t know there is a restaurant at the hotel. The restaurant staff helped us to reheat our food and allow us to take dinner at the restaurant area. The front desk staff is also very kind and nice. Onsen and sauna are available.
Cons: The room is very crowded to set 4 futon beds, and without enough space to open 4 suitcases. The hotel located out of town and no convenient store nearby.
7.9 Good
Pros: Onsen was very good
Cons: The pillows were not comfortable

7.1 Good
Pros: Good location! And staff was helpful and warm welcome. The room was quite big! I do like breakfast in Japanese style.
Cons: We were staying for 2nights, the dinner has 3 options and remains the same next day. The hotel is quite old and i could smell of carpet and smell of smoking in the hallway. They didn’t provide us drinking water and when i wanted to buy it sold out so at least shot have it as a complimentary!
7.1 Good
Pros: Large parking space. Room is spacious. I especially like the bathroom which is super size by Japanese standard. Breakfast and dinner is very good.
Cons: I would prefer flexibility in timing for breakfast and dinner instead of having to adhere to the indicated time. Then again I understand that the chef prepared each of our meal according to our timing.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location; friendly staff; good breakfast
Cons: old facility; cleanliness can be improved
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We like the service to the station and very helpful and friendly staffs. Thanks to Inaba-san, Satoh-san and all other staffs I'm sorry I do not know their names. First Dinner was very very good. It was well prepared and very delicious!.
Cons: Breakfast should provide options. Dinner could be Japanese, with appetizer and dessert.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is old hotel, but keep clean and good condition. Room is big, good location if you drove car, and very good view.
Cons: no
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staffs were helpful and recommended places to visit
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staffs were all very helpful and friendly. They provide shuttle service to nearest station upon booking in advance with no additional fee. We highly appreciate it.
Cons: We booked dinner at the restaurant and since we were in the middle of Hokkaido, we expected Japanese food , something like simple kaiseki, at least.
7.1 Good
Pros: Large room and bathroom with a decent walk in shower.
Cons: No air conditioning and couldn't open window as it was locked. Carpets were stained and bed cover could have done with a good wash.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff is friendly. Room is clean and beds are comfy. Environment is fresh. Breakfast is delicious. Good...Good.. We happy to stay here. If we have chance to come this area again, sure will stay here again. Must drive the car.
Cons: Location is a bit difficult to find, may be already sunset so difficult to see the way. Anyway, this is a small matter. If they have connecting room that will be better. We all love to stay at this hotel.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Not at this moment
Cons: The air con was out of order therefore a bit warm.

7.5 Good
Pros: The surroundings of the hotel
Cons: Did not clean up my room after the first night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing beds and space.
Cons: Short breakfast time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, comfortable warm room. Great ski storage facility and rental options available
Cons: Location is a bit out of the town and it is difficult to get to and from town if you don't have your own vehicle
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The room we got was not worth the money we paid. It was small and narrow and dangerous for older folks to get to the attic beds
4.2 Okay
Pros: Shuttle bus to the ski field.
Cons: We are a family of 6, and we had to book two rooms as the maximum capacity for a room is 4 people (according to booking.com). However, when we checked in, we were given a large room with 6 beds, and a small room with 2 beds. So we all stayed in the room with 6 beds, and asked to cancel the room with 2 beds. They said we could cancel the small room, but if we did so they would increase the cost of the large room so that we ended up paying the same total amount. Very disappointing. The rooms themselves were very ordinary. The place was old and a bit tired, which would have been fine had it not been so expensive. The bathroom looked like it was straight from a caravan. We were woken up at 515am one morning because they had a tractor out clearing the snow from the car park. WiFi is free, but so bad it was unusable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice secluded location. Hot spring. Shuttle bus to the slopes. Very nice breakfast.
Cons: Hotel was a bit out of main strip but in a walking distance to shops. Facilities are a bit old. Loud at times but everyone was quiet after 8pm.
7.9 Good
Pros: very friendly staff, shuttle bus to ski resort is very convenient.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast was ok but the quality not great. The shuttle to take us to the ski areas.
Cons: There are two very distinct types of room which I was not aware of from the website when I booked. The first one we were allocated was upstairs, room 202. There is no lift to this floor. The bathroom was tiny and old-fashioned. There was a downstairs tatami and the sleeping was upstairs in a loft area with little headroom, accessed by very steep slippery stairs. Not appropriate for me at 64 yrs old. After at first being refused a change of room we were told by a different receptionist that we could move to room 101 on the ground floor. This room was very good - large and well maintained with a good-sized modern bathroom. This move was just as well as that day I slipped on ice on their uncleared entrance and broke my leg - there was no ice-free access from the road. It would have been impossible to stay in the first room. They made no attempt to offer me assistance to get medical care even though we repeatedly told them that I had injured myself on their premises. They had no wheelchair or crutches available. Many of the front desk staff spoke very little English and seemed uncaring. There was a communal seating area just off the entrance but no real lounge. Except for a soft drinks machine, there were no facilities available during the day between breakfast and dinner - not even a coffee machine. There was a basic bar open for only a few hours in the early evening.
