Pros: We love the holiday inn and I have been twice, Great location, a little away from some of the other hotels and restaurants but a great walk through the markets on the evening or you can take an Uber (just a few RL ... maybe £2 ) Rooms spacious and comfortable, staff speak good English, small pool and gym much improved since our last visit. Breakfast as much as you can eat and great restaurants catering for a casual pizza outside or restaurant rating highly on trip advisor ( looks gorgeous but we didn’t try it this time) You look straight out of the window onto the beach, which they are working on now so will look amazing when they have finished.

Cons: I don't know if it was Kayak or Holiday Inn, but one price was listed and once you go to book the room it's suddenly $80 more in "fees" and "processing." Felt completely ripped off by that. Not booking with Kayak again.

Cons: We booked three rooms on the same floor together which was confirmed. But when we checked in two rooms were on a different floor. Excuse: the designated rooms were given to other guests. Our question why they did not book these guests in the rooms now taken by our friends was not answered properly. A lame excuse to to speak.

Cons: Staff was not particularly friendly, specially the person who did our check-in. Also, not great coordination happening: we asked for late check-out and we were communicated we could have it, only to then be called earlier asking us to leave the room. Lots of noise: the rooms are not well insulated, you can hear everything in the corridors (like the cleaner who decided to turn on the TV in the room she was cleaning at 8am and then leave - I turned it off myself, only for her to turn it on again after 10 min). The windows in the room are not double glazed, and being in front of a busy road, you can hear all the traffic - that made for a really poor sleep, even with ear plugs. Also, the beach facing the hotel is extremely dirty, not making for a good view. Overall, not great value for money.

Cons: It could be a lot cleaner. My windows were super dirt and there were spider nets with bugs in two places in my bedroom. Breakfast was also weirdly organised, and even with a wide variety of options, things weren't really good. I also had lunch at the restaurant and it was pricy for what was served. Orders weren't coordinated to arrive at reasonable order either. There's definitely room for improvement.

Pros: This is a great value hotel, very well located and does what it says on the tin. It has good sized rooms with desk and chair for working, feee WiFi, good air conditioning and comfortable beds. And it’s quiet at night and in the morning. Good showers also with strong water spray. Also my room had a good balcony to look at the street in front. It’s away from the overhyped and noisy beira mar and aterro de Praia de icacema areas, which is actually a very good thing. So overall this is a great hotel for maybe tourists who like tranquility and for no nonsense business travellers. It’s easily as good the nearly Ibis I would say and more quiet.

Cons: The hotel is old, the rooms had some updates but tile, mirrrors were still old. Our room was a bit dirty and they were under construction. The location is actually not that great and the food from room service was really horrible. It looks like it was a nice hotel sometime in the past. The staff was wonderful though and did everything they could for us to be comfortable.

Pros: The room is big, the apartment has a lot of space. The shower with temperature control was very nice, though. The bedroom is kind of tight because of the king sized very comfy bed. Air conditioners were ok (both bedroom and living room). Filters were clean, but there was still some smell of mould coming from it. Breakfast has a lot of varieties and is tasty. Location is a plus. The property is in one of the best neighborhoods of the city, one block from the great Praia de Iracema beach, there are good restaurants nearby, as well as pharmacies, coffee shops and other amenities. The flat offered free parking, staff was always nice and receptive and the check-in/checkout process was a breeze.

Cons: Room is not well equipped. Furniture is not comfortable, there's no cutlery at all, no dishes, pans and so on. Bathroom is not equipped with shampoo, only soap (not a big deal, but I've seen this in every single hotel I stayed in my whole life). The real bad thing about the property: from the very beginning of our stay, when we first entered the room, we smelled something very bad, something we would later recognize as bad odor from the drains (sewage return). At first, we thought about complaining and changing room immediately, but the odor went away and we noticed it appeared only some times of the day (probably when the upper neighbor used the kitchen sink, bathroom or something), and since we stayed most part of the day out, the problem wasn't critical.

Cons: This hotel had an awful smell inside the suite coming from the bathroom. We had to leave the door closed and windows open to let fresh air in which in turn we were vitrine by mosquitos. There is no hot water and the shower head had mold on it. I believe the photos didn’t match at all probably the photos of the building were taken when the hotel was newer. The hotel was dark and gloomy from the moment we walked in. Lastly the bed and pillows were uncomfortable and they bed sheets bad quality.

Cons: I've stayed in several hotels in my life (Sheraton, Four Points, Holiday Inn, Sofitel, etc.) and I have never experienced what happened to me in this hotel. Around 4.30 AM someone from cleaning service tried to enter my room while I was sleeping. She unlocked the door with her key and pushed hard, only to be stopped by an inside lock. Although I shouted her to get out as loud as I could, she took some time (I believe I woke up the entire floor).
I will definitely never go back to that hotel (or any other Costa do Mar) in my life.

Cons: The rooms were absolutely below any standard and lights in the common areas only work at the actual lift elevators

Pros: Location. Staff kind and very friendly. Swimming pool area has a lovely view and breeze. Air conditioning works fine and shower is large.
Cons: Needs renovation. The elevators had problems during 3 days, with 22 floors. The room is old with polyester sheets. Breakfast room with old furniture and very basic coffee.

Cons: It’s a simple hotel. Not a hotel for a nice vacation or a stay for many days. The bathroom is so small that you have to go to the room to dry yourself.
