Finkenberg hotels

Pros: Exceptional hospitality, attractive and modern building. Open air Jacuzzi with view to the valley on the top of the hotel was amazing. Sauna, steam bath and relax room are fabulous.

Cons: Absolutely nothing to mention. Our stay was perfect.

Pros: I like so much the hospitality from the stuff and they were very kindly. I recommended this resort for all my friend. what an amazing things was the jaccuzi on the rooftop with an amzing view.

Pros: This hotel is the place where you can find everything you wanted or dreamed about - from the youngest to the oldest, starting from the kids play room, through large teen-club and to the smoke club for adults :) plus plenty of saunas, many diff pools etc... Pretty good cuisine with large choice of fresh fruits, vegetables and so on, special kids buffet. And the service is brilliant. In Stock you have real rest, either you prefer it active or lazy one :) Close to the finkenberger gondola where/from you are brought by special shuttle, so do not worry about walking with skis that 200-300 meters :)

Cons: The minor issue that I’d like to address to the hotel management. The situation was next: our small daughter broke her leg while jumping on the trampoline and another kid jumped into her. Next morning we were at the reception, told the case and asked about clinic address. Then went to the clinic, received proper treatment. But in the hotel that day and later nobody from the staff or management did ask how is our kid going on or how is her leg etc.. I think it would be good to add real care to Stock brilliant service :)

Pros: This hotel even though it was only few nights there is so much memories that I wouldn’t forget especially the hospitality from the whole staff and the manager, if I would start talking about how amazing it I would end up writing a book. Really one of the best resorts out there.

Pros: We loved the hotel! Leonhard and his crew were very nice and welcoming. This is also dog-friendly place..The location of hotel is central and the room was nice and spacious with modern wc and shower. There’s also very nice pool outside with amazing view to the valley. Half board was included in the room price and can’t praise enough the quality and taste of food! Absolutely delicious! We will definitely come back again!

Breakfast and restaurant were unexpectedly very good, healthy and various food, proper wine list (a lot of local wines!) Nice spa area and swimming pool, we enjoyed a lot after skiing at glacier. Cons: Cons hard to find. Perhaps could be even closer to ski lifts, nevertheless there are skibuses in the season.

We have read the reviews from previous guests and knew that we are going to an excellent place, but experiencing the amazing hospitality, food and facilities exceeded our expectations! Pros: Superb location! Very short walk to supermarket, bus stop and good hiking trails. Very easy to get to lifts throughout the valley with the free bus card. The apartment is spotless and cozy, and our host was wonderful!

Pros: Perfect location for our short - wished it was longer - summer vacation in Austria. Close to the swimming pool, playground, supermarket and the Finkenberg-Bahn. Easy access to other towns nearby, like Mayrhofen or Ginzling. The area offers a bunch of different activities for everyone. Amazing valley.

Pros: Nina and her mum Marianne were very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable during our entire stay! The location was amazing and wasnt too far drive to Olpererhutte and other hiking locations

Pros: - very good modern apartament, clean bathroom, well equipped kitchen (with small oven even) - the owner is very hospital and helpful - close and easy to get by car to Hintertux ski area - you can order fresh bread a day before (choose from very diverse options) and it waits for you in the morning (at prices like in the shop) - balcony with great view to the mountains

Pros: We were really very satisfied in Ferienhotel Aussicht. Everything was perfect. We like also Finkenberg are because there are lot of possibilities for walking and hiking activities. Very helpuf is also card for free buses in the area which we got at accomodation in hotel.

Pros: very nice and clean place to stay with very friendly owners . The little town or ski resort is a definite visit and in winter will be so much more beautiful .

Pros: Ingrid and her husband were amazing hosts, they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, the breakfast was lovely and loads to eat, the beds were comfy and warm the room was spacious with a great view of the mountains. I cannot recommend this enough, Ingrid even let us use the room past checkout as we wanted to do a half day of skiing before our shuttle arrived that way we could have a shower, really appreciated that. Their son also owns a ski rental that we used with a 10% discount and the gear was great and you could even have it picked up from the guest house when you were done.

Cons: The only thing was the area didn't have a huge amount of choice for eating or going out, but it was only a short bus trip away to the center of the action so not too bad (About 10mins by bus).

Pros: Friendliness of the staff, newly refurbished, clean, perfect size, willingness to help. Will recommend to anyone to stay with Frau Ingrid.

Pros: The hosts were very nice and accommodating. They helped us rent skis. Breakfast was yummy, and the home was beautiful.

Cons: Difficult to get to without a car, but it was possible using the train and bus. Also, taxis are available.

Pros: This place is just amazing! Very clean (I mean VERY!), cozy and stylish. The owners are super friendly and helpful. And breakfast is very delicious. Just few steps to the bus stop to go to the ski lift (or 15 minutes walk). Highly recommended!

Pros: Everything was more than perfect. The room is spacious with a really comfortable bed. You get all you need in the bathroom and everything is kept clean. The breakfast is very good, with the help of Ingrid who prepares tasty eggs and muffins. She even prepared something for us for the road given we left really early in the morning. Also the parking and the place for depositing the skiing gear was great. I definitely recommend it.

Pros: This is a lovely family run hotel with a great atmosphere. We were half board and that was great with a good varied menu and nice staff.

Cons: It’s not walking distance from the lifts unless you are a real masochist, but the bus is very efficient and leaves from right outside the hotel and only takes a minute or so.

Pros: Nice location. Walking distance to Finkenberg ski lift. The ski bus to the other locations stops right in front of the hotel. The breakfast was good, with many choices. The room was spacious with lots of storage for all our gear and a ski room with a boot drying rack.

Pros: The breakfast and dinner were very good and tasty. The staff is very nice and helpful. The lady owner and her son are also very helpful. The almbahn is near 300m.

Cons: The relaxation area, especially the Finnish sauna is small, it would like more space.

Pros: Location is great: just 10 minutes walk to Finkenberger Almbahnen funicular. House is beautiful and warm. The hostess is very kind and responsive. Sauna is awesome: There are regular sauna, hamam and solarium. They provide clean towels every day and chaise-longues. A lot of meat and cheese for breakfast, boiled eggs, yogurt with different fillings like nuts, flakes etc. Room is very nice with balcony, kitchen corner and tableware. Room for ski equipment has driers for boots.

Pros: The houses are located on the hillside so the view is amazing. There are a lot of hiking trails nearby. Also there is a ski lift really close, which is probably a bonus in the winter. The breakfast was great, also was the room cleaning. Maria is a really lovely host, she speaks English with no problem.

Pros: Great location, 5 mins walk from the Finkenberger Almbahnen lift. It’s uphill so we hired a locker at the lift station rather than carry our skis everyday which was really reasonably priced. The ski bus station is just opposite of the uphill walk is too much effort! Gelinde, the owner, is so kind and helpful. Our room was lovely, beautiful balcony and so clean. Rally good value for money.

Pros: The location is absolutely perfect. For any skier who is keen to catch the first lift, you will not be disappointed as the gondola just over the road takes you to many runs up the top of the mountain. For the partier, the bar across the road sells very reasonably priced drinks and offers good music for an enjoyable evening. With a supermarket around 200m up the road, there’s not much more you could want! The staff were always attentive and helped us to get good rates on ski hire and lift passes, both available through the accommodation!

Pros: Very quite and comfortable appartment, large terrace and amazing view to the Zillertal valey, Mayrhofen and the mountains. Just across the street to main cabin to Penken ski area. The ski rental and ski school right in the house. The owners arranged the ski passes right from the reception and we used our room key cards as ski passes :-)

Cons: The GPS sent us all over the place and it was very frustrating. We searched for a half hour trying to find the place and had asked people. They were not very helpful to us at all. Until we finally found a Hotel that then told us where it was. Google needs to get it right and Garmin.

Pros: This place was great. Always tough to find accommodation late and on a budget but stumbled on this place and it exceeded expectations. It's no thrills but everything was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a simple continental affair. A great, comfortable stay. *** Just a few notes for logistics/those clueless before going like we were: There is a ski shuttle bus that takes you to the finkenberg ski lift every day which takes about 10 mins each way. It is line 8 (Hochsteg) and you need to request it from the front desk the night before for the way out, with the first at 8.35 in the morning. On the way back there is a little stand outside the Finkenberg ski lifts where a few ski buses run on the return route from about 3.10 to 5.10 in the afternoon, every half hour. If you want to go to the Glacier (Hintertux) which is not accessible from the main Zillertal area, you need to take another bus there from the Finkenberg ski lift area. Ask around for the "green line" to the glacier. Finkenberg at night is a little dead and you are a little ways from town, would recommend hanging out in nearby Mayrhofen for anything resembling nightlife. This requires a cab most likely, again a 5 to 10 minute journey. Costs about 11 Euros a go. Cabs can be called to the accommodation and in town can be either called or flagged down quite easily. Everyone knows where Forellenhof Linde is.

Pros: Everything was great, rooms were cozy and comfortable, place was really quiet and staff was very helpful.

Cons: A kettle in the room would be nice, so we could make tea in flask before skiing. But Astrid was very helpful and filled our flask with hot water every morning during breakfast.

Pros: Good value for money - considering what I paid for a booking at Christmas time. Room and house nicely furnished. The breakfast was quite decent if not amazing. Free parking. Free shuttle mini-bus to the slopes and back from the property - but DON'T forget to register for it the day before.

Cons: Although the pension is only 3km from Mayrhofen, the local taxis are an absolute rip-off: 11€ for 3km. Thus it's better to have a car. The stop for the regular buses into town is some distance away, along a narrow mountain road - possibly not safe after dark. Avoid taking taxis in Mayrhofen if at all possible, too. Mayrhofen is quite a small place - a village really but the rip-off taxi companies impose a a flat rate of 7€, even for just going 500M. This is extortion and they are all in it together with no competition when it comes to prices. The room was nice and cosy but there were a couple of issues: 1. A fridge would have been nice 2. The mattress was much too soft for me. 3. The water pressure wasn't all that great - the shower was more of a trickle than a torrent. 4. The heating was on a timer which meant it was turned off during the day and also after 10pm. This meant that it could get quite chilly in the daytime, if one were not skiing and also at night, if one stayed up late.

Pros: It is a beautiful place for sporty holiday. Perfect service, very pleasant atmosphere and delicious dinners. We were there for skiing and the ski service was available directly in the hotel. Ski bus stops directly before the hotel, it is about 2 minutes to the lift by ski bus. Our room was spacey, the beds were comfortable. All an all perfect, highly recommended.

Pros: Really close to the gondola. Very friendly staff!! Great food!! Good sized rooms and very tidy. A real bonus was the on site ski hire... the spa facilities were wonderful... extremely well run hotel, very cosy... perfect for a great ski holiday. I couldn’t fault the hotel or its lovely staff.

Pros: From all the rave reviews I was expecting something nicer. It was ok for one night. Just a bare room and bathroom and access to the front lawn. It was a pleasant evening walk into Dorf Haus village for an evening meal and an easy 10 min walk to the bus stop to catch a bus to the train station. The price was good.

Cons: The breakfast cereal was stale, the juice was like coloured water, there was no indication that we could use a shared kitchen so no welcoming tea or coffee when we arrived. No WiFi code offered.

Pros: Owner is very polite and helpful. the place is very quiet, although in front of the street. Parking is available free of charge just opposite the hotel. Sauna and steam bath clean and quiet. Food was typical Austrian. Room not spacious but very clean.

Cons: No elevator. TV was small (14'')

Pros: Friendly Staff and very easy going. Breakfast was very good. We paid extra for the Evening meal, which was great value. Us, and another couple stayed as a base for a long ski weekend, and it was nice to be out of town.

Pros: Great location within walking distance to a variety of hiking trails and climbing areas. Very good hot and cold breakfast. Karl and Kathrin are very welcoming, engaging, and attentive hosts. For dinner, they took a group of guests up to their nearby alpine hut, where they served home-made dumplings and Karl, who has a beautiful yodel voice, played sing-along songs on the accordion. I recommend taking this option for dinner if available during your visit.

Pros: The owner was a warm, caring and compassionate man, who not only made us extremely welcome, but did his utmost to ensure that our short trip was not ruined by the extreme snowfall that occurred whilst we were visiting.

Pros: All of the food was as superb as the hotel. The staff were excellent both in efficiency and friendliness. Barbara, in particular, was absolutely amazing. I loved everything about the hotel, its location next to the ski lift, and ambiance. I recommend it unreservedly to anyone!
