A gem
The staff at reception and in the adjoining pub were friendly. The room was comfortable and clean with some great little touches such as a complementary small decanter of port. The bathroom had excellent fixtures. The bed was comfortable. The location is right downtown, just a short walk to the Cathedral, restaurants and shopping.
The hotel is on a charming narrow street, which can be a little challenging for a tourist driver to drive up to. By driving 100 yards through an intersection, however, you can solve this by going into one of two parking garages. I know that’s not much of a criticism, but I felt the need to put something in the criticism box.
Very friendly welcomoing staff, good relaxed atmosphere, good food, comfotable room, good location for city centre.
Excellent location for city centre, everything within easy walking distance.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was was quiet with a good shower. We had an evening meal which was good value and served promptly as was the breakfast which was well cooked and plentiful. The draught beer was very well kept.
The carpet in our room was stained in places and there was a strong smell of stale tobacco smoke. In the main reception part of the hotel there was a strong smell of drains, which kept drifting through while we were eating ,this was very unpleasant. We didn't mention it to the staff as we were only there for 1 night and didn't spend much time there.
The breakfast was excellent, cooked to order. Staff were very friendly and curtious. Room was warm and comfortable.
The bathroom was cold, not much heating.

nosie late at night and early morning plus no cntral heating. when first arrived room took ages to heat up using air con plus 1 small ineffectual electric heater
