Pros: WOW, this little gem of a hotel is a must stay! The rooms are well decorated, the staff is amazing and the breakfast was the best by far during our entire time in Germany. If you are going to Erfurt, plan extra time because this city is as amazing as Hotel Domizil! We would have loved to stay longer! As an added bonus, our room had A/C and it was quite hot in Germany during our vacation.

Pros: Super staff, friendly and capable, excellent breakfast prepared by a chef, location in the heart of Erfurt, private parking available, superb room in a heritage building, freshly renovated.

Cons: At night many people outside our room was loud and police appeared to be around the area there. It makes her uncomfortable sleep.

Pros: Very nice staff and owners. Everything about the place was nice - bright, attractive, clean. Easy to get to and from the hauptbahnhof (train station) on a tram. It was close to all of the attractions.

Pros: Terrific location with excellent views of Domplatz and the Cathedral and St Severin. Bright and cheery spacious rooms with one of the most comfortable mattresses I have ever found in any hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Pros: A gem of a hotel in Erfurt. Very friendly and warm service from both staff and the owner. Great breakfast spread. Erfurt is a beautiful town and Hotel Domizil is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting there.

Pros: Hotel staff went above and beyond to help. Dominic was wonderful.Rooms were very modern in a historic part of town. Far from the U-bahn but close to the dome and Christmas market. The breakfast coffee, bread and orange juice were wonderful

Cons: First morning we came down for breakfast at 9:00 a.m.and a large hungry group had eaten pretty much all the hot food and meat. Next morning was superb.

Pros: As described in a nice little village. Clean rooms and great staff. They even added multiplugs on each side of the bed for charging mobile phones etc. which is a nice touch.

Cons: Shower head was a bit funky and kept slipping down, but really that was the only issue and it was pretty minor.

Pros: Rhodaer Grundi is an excellent hotel with a very professional and efficient staff. We had a warm welcome from Martin who gave us a lot of touristic information about the city center. He did his best in order to give us a wonderful stay. The room was clean and confortable. The breakfast was very delicious, a good value for money.

Pros: Lovely friendly family run restaurant and b& b....Excellent food served between 12-2 then again at 5-6 pm. Bus service into Erfurt right outside. Breakfast was lovely and room very comfortable. Erfurt is a well worth visiting.

Pros: The couple who run the hotel were fantastic. The breakfast was great too. The apartment suite that we rented was huge, and the bathroom was very nice. Plenty of parking.

Cons: Furniture wasn’t particularly comfortable. No wi-fi.

Pros: The "style" it is mediaeval and in very good condition after five or six hundred years. The breakfast was excellent and varied.

Pros: Excellent location near centre of Erfurt. It's a historic building, which is very interesting, but the rooms are basic and the beds are not very comfortable. There is no way to sit up and read, for example. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of hot and cold food and drinks.

Pros: Fascinating monastery where Martin Luther once studied. Our room was in an old stone building, reached by a set of worn wooden steps leading to a veranda on the first floor. The room itself was then a surprise, being super modern and clean. The accomodation is well situated in Erfurt's delightful old town.

Cons: The twin beds were at opposite sides of the room and couldn't be moved. However it was obvious when we booked that the room type was set up primarily for students.

Pros: Quite close to the centre, good size room with a comfortable bed, very good breakfast, helpful staff, onsite parking for a motorcycle.

Pros: The park-like grounds of the Augustinerkloster are so peaceful, providing a sanctuary of serenity to which to retreat from a day in the city. The garden and the cloisters were beautiful, tranquil, as is the historical chapel with stained glass dating back to the 1300s. It was a pleasure coming "home" after the excitement of each day. It was also pretty cool to sleep at the monastery where Martin Luther became a monk and initially developed his views on religion that would change the world. There is a small museum showcasing artifacts and the history of the property as well as of Martin Luther for those interested. It also shows several photos of the property through time, including the damage incurred in the Allied bombings during the War. The church has melded new buildings with old, in one case preserving the broken walls by incorporating them into the new glass structure, which was very beautiful yet haunting. Underground is a place for remembrance of all those who died during the bombing that took part of the church. It is a very powerful memorial. I would highly recommend taking the grounds tour, offered several times a day to get the most out of your visit and to see all of the different sites. It takes about an hour and costs a few Euros and is well worth it.

Pros: Location was ideal: close to the beautiful "Dom" -area, the city easily reachable by foot, and also with a tram stop a mere hundred meters or so away. The booking was spontaneous, but everything was arranged very well and the communication was excellent. The breakfast served its purpose. The room was rather plain, but clean and did its job!

Cons: The sound insulation of the door was not the best, one could hear quite clearly what was happening or being said in the corridor. The bed was a bit weirdly "blocking" most of the room (could be just our room though), and was a bit too soft for our taste.

Pros: The location is top. The room is huge, one can see this is an old hotel, that has different standards for the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful

Cons: The doors are closed in the evening. Nobody told us that and when we came back we were lucky there was already another couple there that knew about the card reader you were supposed to use. This should be told on check in. Also the parking entrance seemed tight, would not advise for big cars.

Pros: A clean and nice hotel. Our room in big enough. It is easy for us to take several big suitcases into room through elevator, although the elevator provides limited space. The property has a private parking area but limited quantity of parking lot is an issue when the hotel is booked fully. There is a nice supermarket nearby. That is good for preparing something for coming long-distance driving. Very polite staff in front desk. We are appreciated of her help and arrangement.

Cons: Rather expensive, and the shower in my room kept going very hot for a couple of seconds then back to normal temp.

Pros: Over the average spacious lobby, restaurant and the room, give thru rest and relax especially during intensive business travel. Apart of the space excellent cuisine, friendly and professional staff together with simple elegance decoration emphasize the feeling. In spite of the location out of the center, intentionally have chosen this hotel for second time, and plan to stay next time visiting Erfurt.

Cons: In such hotel extremely slow internet (or option for up grade for 12 euro) is a faux pas. Hope the management would reconsider this issue.

Cons: - Very dated hotel. Desperately needs modernising! There's nothing quaint about GDR furniture or old fashioned hotel keys. - The hairdryer is useless! It's scolding hot, but with virtually no blowing. You can burn your hair dry... - The all-in-one shampoo, conditioner and shower gel is bizarre. They seriously couldn't afford to have separate dispensers?! - They charge for the bottled water, and at a very expensive price for Germany. - No double bed, just two singles pushed together. Not in the least bit romantic! - The excessive Victor's branding is funny. Even the gummy bears are branded.

Pros: Hotel gave ticket which could be used for trams and buses, made it easy to get around town. Room size was big.

Cons: Although the breakfast was great, the times were completely inflexible (8-10 weekdays and beginning at 8.30 on weekends and holidays). No iron or ironing facilities available. No extra accommodations for travelers needs. Take it or leave it mentality.

Pros: The hotel was exceptionally clean and well-appointed. The host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brilliant. Well-located a pleasant 10 minute walk from the centre. Tram out the front; easy car-parking.

Pros: Lots of space, huge bath, nice to have fresh air from a private open window. Welcoming host, pension located in a lovely neighbourhood just a few mins walk from the train station and alstadt.

Cons: The pillows were so squishy there was hardly any support, and there was no aircon or fan for cooling. It was a little difficult when traveling by train to fit in with very narrow check in and check out times.

Pros: Charming staff. Excellent breakfast. Everything spotlessly clean. Very clear and friendly communication with the property about my late arrival. Good tram connection to the city.

Cons: Note that this property is not especially close to the centre of Erfurt, but it is close to the Landtag. So for trips for political purposes it is well suited. Also the decor in the rooms is... slightly eccentric!

Pros: Location is terrific as it is so central and parking is available onsite. The hotel is modern on the inside with very well appointed, spacious rooms. The restaurant was a real surprise as it was so good, with local dishes, that we dined there on each evening of our two night stay. The hotel was ideal for us.

Pros: The LOCATION! Just feet from the Krämerbrücke bridge and the heart of Old Town. Public transportation is only a 5 minutes walk away. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, and even tolerated my attempts at elementary German.

Cons: The room is U-shaped with the bathroom in the center, creating a cramped feeling. More than adequate for one, two might feel claustrophobic.

Cons: The experience was an overall success, if I were to change anything it would be to have larger bed selections.

Pros: The hotel felt very new. It looked very clean, the receptionists very kind and fast. In the reception area you had a free German news papers to read and free 15 mins Internet browser access. The reception area was fairly spacious and allowed many parties to have a game of cards or a drink in the evenings. The room was clean, the bed a dream. The TV was great for native German speakers but if you couldn't speak that language there weren't many foreign options. For IBIS which is strongly represented euorpeanwide I had hoped for more English broadcast channel access. The WIFI access worked fine and allowed streaming on Netflix. Free soap for handwashing & showering were provided. The aircon worked fine to warm up the room to a nize cosy warmth. Coat hangers could be taken off the hook and hanged into the room if you had a lot of things to dry! There were two hooks in the room to hang more stuff to dry on, a rare sight in most hotel rooms these days. The standard room had a separate wardrobe room between the entrance and the bedroom. So if you had smelly clothes from a pub trip out you could leave them in the wardrobe without stinking up your bedroom.

Cons: The TV was great for native German speakers but if you couldn't speak that language there weren't many foreign options. For IBIS which is strongly represented europeanwide I had hoped for more English broadcast channel access. The shower door wasn't fully sealed at the bottom between the wall the door edge, so we had a bit of a puddle on the floor after each shower. If you have two big suitcases open in the room, shelf and walking space gets a bit tight.

Cons: Paying 15€ carpark for one night?! Was extremely expensive and no one told us when we checked in. We found out at the checkout that we have to pay 15€ for parking. The pillows very uncomfortable... Disappointing. I don't recommend to anyone.
