The house was a beautiful old villa. It clearly has a long history as pictures and equipment tell. Our room was cozy and warmed up fast with the electrical heating. The lady who welcomed us was very kind and friendly and answered all our questions and also gave us nice tips on Eisenach. The bed was very comfortable, we had a good sleep. The location was very nice and not such a long walk from the train station as expected, also the public transport possibilities were good. The neighbourhood was wonderful and quiet with the Wartburg close by.
Behind the pretty exterior some issues are worth pointing out. We had no clear idea beforehand about our room as it was not specified which room would be chosen for us. Anyways, although we were happy about our room in the first level, we were surprised that the bathroom (sink and toilet) was across a tiny corridor next to another tenant's apartment and not directly attached to our room. The shower was in the cellar/basement for which you needed to pass the cold staircase. It would have been fine if this information would have been clear beforehand. Also, the "Spa" description matched only partly, because our bathroom had a weirdly working whirlpool bathtub (not that clean and we didn't figure out how it works) and a shower with low water pressure. In the bathroom(s) we found some random stuff and equipment of which we were not sure whether it was somebody's property or whether it was meant for the guests. We decided for a breakfast which was somewhat disappointing as some previous comments have already mentioned correctly the simple, cheap orange juice "Orangennektar 50%" and the "Aufbackbrötchen"- the cheap ready-made ovenbread. The boiled eggs were also indeed expired.
The breakfast was incredible!! Absolutely worth the extra 8 euro, trust me. Also, there were robes in the room and a big jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The lady who runs the place is super sweet.
It was a little far from the center of town, but there was a great restaurant really close by, as well as a grocery store.
Honestly, don't understand all the good or even neutral reviews. It was the dirtiest room we ever booked! Absolutely unhygienic bathroom (toilet was disgusting, everywhere spider-nets and spiders themselves, hair and stains in the shower, black mold in the whirlpool, dust and dirt almost on every surface; to be fair, the sink was the only clean spot there). The carpets in our two-room apartment looked like not being vacuumed for months, dust on the kitchenette, dirty glasses. Only the bed linens fortunately seemed OK. Although the landlord was friendly (he also apologized, when we called him with complains, about the cleanliness and send us some help...), but a landlady was from the first minutes arrogant, unwelcoming and at the end even rude. You can see it also from her angry answers on some negative feedback. The fridge in the room was out of order (no "sorry for inconveniences" or something like that). As we needed it (the fridge was mentioned in description), we got a permission to use the one in the breakfast room (it was fool, but we've found some place). We were happy we needed to spend only one night there.
Our stay was perfect. Owner of the villa is very hospitable and open. Villa interior is superior and exquisite. We had large room with TV, fridge, kettle, microwave, comfortable double bed and 3 pillows of different kind for each person. Moreover, huge and bright bathroom with massage bath and shower. WiFi is fast. We liked kitchen located on the ground floor and small quiet garden in the backyard - perfect place to relax.
