No bar, the suites opposite the main building ,
Every thing was perfect
Shower mixer taps. Took me a while to get right temperature. But that is my only moan.
Beautiful, rich decor
Could not accommodate us in the restaurant either night at a time that suited us. Should make sure that their hotel guests are catered for
It’s location and sense of occasion
Emptying the bath
Thematic ambiance, unapologetic opulence- it’s worth trying for a night
Can’t say that given the five star that it is, the staff’s level of operation is very smooth. The person who showed me the room initially wasn’t all that friendly; the tub when I filled it with water had a strand of hair and soap residue floating (had to wipe the tub with a towel before use); the room was cold and temperature couldn’t be changed; the WiFi information was hard to find in the “welcome package”; the breakfast brought up to the room, which is nice in itself I guess, was disappointing.
The Witchery by The Castle is an iconic and luxurious spot in Edinburgh, Scotland. Noted for its lavish accommodations and gourmet dining, it is part of the famous Old Town and gazes out at some of the city’s most storied locations. The Edinburgh Royal Mile, Princes Street and, of course, the Castle are only minutes by foot. Grassmarket, Central Library, the National Gallery, the National Museum of Scotland, University of Edinburgh, Camera Obscura and many other landmarks are steps away. Edinburgh Airport is less than seven miles from the hotel, as well.
With such a location, it is ideal for leisure travelers as well as business professionals. The amenities include Scotland’s most famous restaurant (with the same name as the hotel) as well as the Secret Garden, with their baroque interiors and original oak paneling are a must whether a guest or not. There is also a 24-hour front desk and a concierge, free Wi-Fi, dry cleaning and laundry services, terraces, afternoon tea, and daily breakfast.
There are only nine opulent suites in the hotel, and all of them are sized for two visitors. Each is decorated with luxury as the goal and given a distinct theme and name. Choose from gothic glamour in The Vestry Suite or dark drama in Sempill. There is the theatrical setting of The Old Rectory and rich glamour of The Inner Sanctum. Visitors may also opt for The Library, The Heriot, The Armory or The Guardroom. The Turret is also available and offers stunning views.
Unforgettable accommodations and luxury await those who stay at The Witchery by The Castle in Edinburgh.
