Great location, everything in walking distance! The shower in our twin room was nice, enough hot water and good pressure. (The bathroom itself was very old, no bath mats or toilet brush, annoying automatic lights switches off every 3 min.) Good enough for a weekend though, but seemes overrated, theres is lot to improve.
Our room wasnt very clean (or nice) and the hostel didnt seem safe. The keycards system is old and not working properly. Entering through the bar back door anyone could walk up to the rooms straight from the street, well..Very basic breakfast, def not worth £6. No juice or veggies, no proper coffee, plastic plates.
Towel provided, soap dispenser in shower, good location but the on-site bar was a bit crowded and rowdy on Fri and Sat. Otherwise calm
First stay at a hostel so I didn't know what to expect. Had no disappointments. One change, it would be nice to have more hook in bathrooms for towels, toiletry bags, etc
This is a budget hostel, so it would be unfair to expect a five star hotel. And for the price I thought it was excellent. The location is perfect, the room clean and perfectly adequate with a nice en-suite shower room. The staff were super friendly and helpful - I left my Kindle behind somehow and they had kept it safe for me when I went to ask if they had seen it. There is a lift, which helped me as I had a hip problem at the time, and there is a storage room where you can leave your luggage before or after you check in/out. If you want you can pay for a secure locker, but the room is only occessed by means of a key for residents only.
The hostel is quite noisy with young people being a bit exuberant in the early hours, but this was not a great problem for me as I can sleep like a log anywhere. The room was small for three, with no chairs or TV but again that didn't bother me as I was there on my own (my friends couldn't come after all). It was also a bit cold, but once under the duvet, that was fine.
The rooms were terrible and hot. Beds were very uncomfortable and the bathroom smelled like sewage waste with a toilet and shower open floor. No parking.
