Unfortunately on the 3rd night of my stay I got back around 7pm and there was no power. There was no one around so I assumed it was a temporary outage. After about 30 minutes I went to reception with my phone torch and couldn’t find anyone. I rang the guest house phone number but no answer. I went back to my room and then about 30 minutes later I phoned back up and someone answered. They relocated me to a guest house a few doors up which didn’t have heating in my room and the curtain fell off in the middle of the night! It was a terrible experience. The worst part was probably that no one was around during the power outage to help guests. There was another couple that had been in there rooms from 4pm until 9pm without a clue what to do. I will be contacting the guest house for a refund as the service and the secondary hotel was unbelievable.
I was able to book it last minute after being let down
The room could be ok, if taken care of.
When we first entered our room we were met with a very unpleasant mouldy like smell. The room was dirty, the bathroom felt like a freezer as if there was no window just a hole with a net which was a complete joke especially now during the winter. The toilet roll was used and toilet seat broken. We could here all the noises coming from the outside and the bedroom window was literally shaking from wind and cars passing by. At the end, when we wanted to check out there was no one there so we just left a note with the key inside. We would never ever pick this place again.
It was near Edinburgh town centre.
My pregnant wife and I woke up to find that we received bites from bed bugs, at the point that we had to leave the room early in the morning and seek help from the nearest pharmacy. This matter have shortened oir holidays visiting Edinburgh and other Scottish cities. We are now back at home recovering from the heavy bed bugs bites. All clothes we had in the hotel were littered on the same day we left the hotel.
