The location right under the castle is unbeatable. I appreciated the activities they are offering for every evening, especially a ghost tour - and for free? Duh!
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, basically just bread, butter and jam.
Very helpful staff, breakfast options, luggage storage, comfy rooms with securegard lockera
I only stopped for a night, but it seemed like a fun hostel with a friendly and relaxed vibe and a good activity programme. A decent breakfast, clean and spacious rooms, and they kindly let me leave my bag in storage after checkout time. Amazing location.
Could do with some female only bathrooms for those who choose a female only dorm room. Not the fault of the staff, but I was unfortunate to have inconsiderate and noisy room mates in the four bed female room.
Staff were amazing, so helpful. Could not have wanted for a better location. Breakfast was cheap and filling. Loved the decor and layout of the hosyel.
Very squeaky doors and some people did not respect the keep the noise down after a certain times. Maybe as an option when booking a room ask if they'd prefer quieter guests who may just want to relax in the room as the lounges got quite noisy.
Easy to book, 24 hour access, affordable, comfortable, friendly accommodation in the heart of Edinburgh within walking distance of conference venues and evening entertainments and live music. Difficult to improve on from what I experienced on my short stay.
Decor is good, just not amazing
