Getting from the airport to your accommodation will take roughly 1h 20min, whether you choose to get there by taxi or by public transport. A taxi is more convenient if you have a bit of luggage with you as it goes door to door, but a one-way taxi fare will cost around £190 (about $230). Public transport is more economical but it does involve one change and a bit of walking. You will need to catch the Southern train from the airport heading towards Ore and get off 5 stops later at the Eastbourne station. From there, walk over to the Hartfield Road bus stop which, will be about a 7min walk away, and get on board bus line 12A Coaster heading to Meads. Get off 4 stops later at the Lifeboat Museum bus stop and the hotel will be a 2min walk away.
The hotel has 2 different restaurants onsite. Vista Bar Café is open from 9:00 am every day and offers food all day with a view of the beach. A La Carte breakfast is served until 11:30 am, while you’ll be able to choose between light bites and main meals for lunch and dinner. Afternoon Tea is also available from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm every day for £15.95 (about $20) per person, and you have the option of adding a glass of Prosecco for an extra £3 (about $4). The Artisan Eastbourne restaurant offers modern and traditional food in a waterfront setting for lunch and dinner every day. On Sundays you will be able to try their Sunday Roast lunch, which is available for a fixed price of £12.95 (around $15) per person, while kids under 12 eat for free.
If you are looking at celebrating a special occasion while on vacation, you will easily be able to organize a party at The View Hotel. For an additional cost, you can rent the event space, hire a DJ to keep you entertained throughout the event and provide finger food for up to 50 guests.
