Nice little family run hotel, about 20 minutes walk to town. Both the breakfast and dinner were really good and the staff lovely. Rooms are okay; old but well kept. WiFi (secured): flaky in the room, but good around reception. 4mpbs down, 0.2mbps up, 49ms ping (in room).
I liked how close the property was to the Seiser Alm National Park.
The turnoff from the road is dangerous.
Everything about hotel Solaia was excellent from arrival to departure. The garden outside around the pool is especially nice with a shading tree and tables and chairs all around. The hotel could offer easy meals and beverages all day. An extra thank you to the lady in the staff who served us so well.
View of Dolomites
The location is great - close to beautiful areas and great views all around. Loved our balcony space and the lush property space. Staff, when we saw them, seemed kind and friendly.
It is a bit outdated and old (especially the bathroom), felt like some updating could definitely be used. at the same time, if you are looking for a charming old mountainy lodge style, this definitely meets it - we didn’t expect major luxury, just a little bit nicer. We were also there in the slow season so could have just been a down time (late May, during cold spring as well), but felt so abandoned like no one else was staying and all the lights were always off on hallways, lobby, etc, no one at front desk most times, and facilities like hot tub were not made available (one of the draws for booking this property on our trip through the Dolomites), though the heated (barely) pool was offered so that was kind.
Set in its own garden at an altitude of 1100 metres, Hotel Solaia offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. It features a wellness centre, a gourmet restaurant, a sun terrace, and a natural swimming pool. Free WiFi is available in the common rooms and in the garden in summer. Rooms are decorated in a typical Alpine style, fitted with light-wood furnishings and parquet floors. Each is spacious and comes with a seating area, a satellite TV and a balcony with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. A wellness centre with a Finnish sauna and a Turkish bath invites to relax. The sun terrace is fully equipped with sun loungers and parasols, and you can relax in the garden or have a game of table tennis. Buffet breakfast is served daily in the restaurant. It offers sweet and savoury products, including bacon, eggs and cheese, together with homemade cakes and pastries. The restaurant serves typical South Tyrolean and Mediterranean cuisine. A bus stop with direct links to Siusi and Bolzano is 150 metres from the hotel. Alpe di Siusi, with its ski slopes, is just 2 km away.
