Car rental at Castellón de la Plana Airport

Car hire at Castellón de la Plana is located in the main terminal. It’s a small, single-terminal airport that's easy to navigate. Once you come through Baggage Reclaim you’ll find the rental desks in the main Arrivals area. There will be staff to talk you through your vehicle choice and direct you to the collection point. This is in the car park immediately in front of the terminal. It takes around 2min to walk there.

In Spain you drive on the right and overtake on the left, the opposite of the UK system. On motorways, it’s advised that tourists drive in the right-hand lane - which is the slowest lane - unless you have experience of driving in Spain. Your car hire company should ensure you have the requisite reflective triangles and jackets for emergencies and everyone should wear seatbelts or use child restraints. You will need to have your passport in your possession at all times, as well as your driving licence.

As the rental desks are in the terminal building you’ll have access to all the amenities of the airport, including help desks, tourist information, ATMs and currency exchange. There are also small cafes and snack bars, as well as family toilet facilities and waiting areas.

Castellón de la Plana Airport car hire will require a valid driving licence for your country, a credit or debit card and your passport as secondary identification. It’s likely that they will request your return flight details too so make sure you have those with you. The minimum age to hire a car in Spain is 21 and anyone under the age of 25 will also have to pay a daily surcharge. This may be extended to cover older drivers too. There's no official maximum age but individual companies have their own rules on older drivers.

The only car rental company that offers shuttle or pick-up services from Castellón de la Plana airport to off-airport locations is Rhodium.
