Everything
Nothing
We were spending the week exploring Carmel and this was a very convenient and clean-looking hotel. We'd read some reviews about the missing cheese hour, etc. and scoffed at people being weird about their missing amenities; generally if a place is clean and pleasant, I don't think there is much else to comment on. But I have to say, it was a sore disappointment that we booked two King rooms for two couples (a deluxe and suite) and in the early, cold November morning, I reached for the bathrobe I'd read so much about (it was constantly in the advertising for the King suites that there are these great thick robes) and saw...there was none. In either King room. So I'm listing the amenities as OK because honestly, it was really chilly in our room and I think that when you book deluxe king suites, they should come with bathrobes if that is advertised everywhere and it's quite chilly. I got ready that morning in my husbands sweater and we left the next day.
Beautiful. Clean. Friendly staff! Will come again but ask for a room that isn't close to the road.
Noise. You can't sleep with the window open due to to the cars on the road. No AC which wouldn't be a problem however noisey road had to close window.
Noisy, noisy, noisy
Needed a room in Carmel.
RIght on busy road. Tiny room. Crappy wifi.
Nice boutique hotel in Carmel
We upgraded to a King suite, which was a clean room, though not particularly sizable. Staff was very nice and efficient. It was a quick walk into town, and the grounds of the hotel were lovely.
There was also no refrigerator in our room, though we thought we saw one in another room. For our room being a suite and upgraded, the lack of the fridge was a little bizarre.
Wine and cheese between 5-7 pm and homemade hot breakfast.
Small room, street noise
We were a little skeptical, but were pleasantly surprised! The staff was great, the room was very nice, the fire pit was fun and the breakfast was above average. Nice extra buffet touches like quiche and croissant egg and sausage sandwiches. Yogurt was in nice glassware and fresh cut up seasonal fruit, versus just bananas and apples and oranges. Like I said, were pleasantly surprised and will be back!
The service from Tom was the best I've ever experienced. He was extremely polite and very friendly. The property is beautiful and very quiet. A nice Romantic setting that is a short 15 min walk to all the shops. Gardens are beautiful and the firepit was a nice bonus.
Wish they had more wines in our room to choose from.
