Cairns SUV Hire

Cairns offers a good balance of paid and free on-street parking. In the CBD, you'll find parking is limited to two hours per spot. If you are looking for all-day parking, you'll find a perfect place with slightly larger bays, great for SUV parking opposite the Cairns Convention Centre. However, it's best to head to a secure car park if you are looking for overnight parking or long-stay parking. There are several around the city. Lake Street multi-storey car park, Secure Parking at Hartley Street Car Park and the Southern Esplanade Carpark are among the most popular.

When collecting your SUV hire in Cairns, you will need to provide a valid, current driver's licence. If it applies, you'll need to present an international driver's licence along with your original national driver's licence. No copies are allowed. If your driver's licence is not in the Roman Alphabet, you must show an international driver's permit. You'll also need a credit card in the driver's name, which has enough funds to cover the entire rental charge.

To protect yourself from further charges and to ensure a safe trip through Cairns, it's best to check over the car before leaving the car hire car park. Examine the inside and outside of the vehicle, under bumper bars, and any hidden areas, looking for damage. If you see something, make a note, or better yet, take pictures on your phone. Make sure the car is in good working order, and if you are not sure, ask the company representative to show you how to use the SUV's different driving functions to get the best out of the vehicle while changing terrains.
