The staff was friendly
The pool had no chlorine and the pool filters did not run. Unfortunately we were swimming in it before we noticed. The hot tub has been out of order for months but it was advertised as useable (false advertisement). Also 1 of 2 beds were sandy/crumby in the sheets like they weren't washed. We did not receive any towels except 2 hand towels and 1 washcloth. An already opened and used soap was left on that wash cloth from previous stay. Any other motel 6 prices are less than $100, this location was 150 + taxes. We feel very ripped off, expecting a much better quality room.
It was perfectly satisfactory
The front desk staff was super about my service animal, they didn't question or deceptively charge extra after check out without knowledge or permission. Completely professional which is more than can be said about some of the more expensive ones in the area. Also, the windows were completely covered and opened to the outside.
There weren't enough covers. One top sheet and a thin coverlet were not sufficient, but upon asking for a blanket of the front desk she offered to bring it to me which i didn't think necessary so i went and got it. Slept like the dead after crawling underneath the bed covers because of it.
you get what you pay for
Everything is average, it's what I expected. Nothing more, nothing less. Main thing is that it was clean and had a decent enough bed to sleep on for one night.
Motel 6 - nothing more, nothing less
Motel 6 is the Subway of lodging. It isn't great, but you know what you're getting, and that's okay. This one has a pool and hot tub - if those types of things entice you.
It's a Motel 6, you know what you're getting.
Location and price
Lack of breakfast
It was very recently updated and renovated. Extremely clean with new paint and carpet. I liked that it was fairly near the freeway. There's also a McDonald's right across the street, so I suppose if you like fast food, that's a plus... Oh there is free coffee... Woohoo... The staff was nice and prompt whenever they were needed.
So I booked this hotel thinking that it was going to be a pretty good deal. It was about $15 more than the other hotels i was looking at with the same amenities, except this one said it had a pool and hot tub. I figured for the extra, it'd be worth soaking for awhile after a long trip on the road... When I arrived to the hotel around 5PM I saw that on the sign they were offering my same room for $20 less. So I asked once I got to the front desk for the potential lower price and she said that because I had already made my reservation through another party-site, that she couldn't alter my rate.. Fine, I expected to pay a little more anyway. She didn't inform me though, that the hot tub I was so looking forward to, was shut down for maintenance. I found this out when I went to the vending machine to get a cold drink, since the room we were in didn't have a refrigerator, and I heard some other guests mentioning the "cold pool" and "broken hot tub". Grr... Disappointment sets in further. As for the room. I booked the 1 queen room because of the said amenities. It was the most basic hotel rooms I've ever been in. 2 pillows, 2 towels, 1 washcloth, no shampoo, no conditioner, no fridge, no microwave, no writing pens, no free breakfast, basic cable and for awhile I didn't even think there was an alarm clock! I ended up finding it tucked behind a lamp on the desk. I was in Bozeman on business and needed an ironing board and iron. Online it made it seem there were an iron and board in every room, but no... I had to call and get it delivered. The room only came with a standing shower and the poor water pressure and hard-water smell was pretty unpleasant. All around disappointment. For all of the other surrounding hotel options (literally, there are at least 4 others right next to this hotel), this was a poor deal.
