Bolzano/Bozen hotels

Pros: Beautifully designed, comfortable room and bed, spotless clean, very nice and helpful staff (thank you, Claudia, for all your recommendations!), very rich, delicious, fresh breakfast!

Cons: Nothing at all!

Pros: Really enjoyed talking with the front desk women about the area & hiking different places. This was my second short stay since 2016 & plan on returning sometime 2020. Breakfast is great. It's buffet style for the most part and then there's ordering for eggs.... I like egg whites and there was no problem ordering them the way I prefer. Also, plenty of different fruits & nuts, you know, the healthy stuff, not the pop-tart so called breakfasts at Hotel's in America. There's a small fitness room I used while there. It was raining or just quite lousy wet Nov. weather not fun for hiking. The fitness room was just what I needed. The gym has a few cardio machines, mats & dumbbells - just fine for an hour's work-out.

Pros: Absolutely perfect.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The staff was incredibly helpful, providing assistance with travel, dining, and shopping. The bar was a fun place to end the workday and start the evening. The rooms were beautiful--I will be back.

Cons: The trash cans being picked up in the morning and the passers-by in the evening were both a bit loud and woke me up. Maybe a little work could be done to reduce the noise in the rooms. Not a huge issue, but it could be better.

Pros: Only superlatives to offer for this hotel. Possibly best breakfast in Italy as well.

Cons: rooms being on two levels need some handrail on the stairs and night visibility; one water glass in the room was not clean; chairs in the breakfast room are very uncomfortable to sit on; there is no real lobby.

Pros: Walking distance from railway station. All staff from reception to cleaners to breakfast attendants were polite, caring, and helpful. Breakfast was included and was stupendous. Rooms were large and airy with some views. All attractions in Bolzano were in walking distance or could use mobile travel card. Local restaurants good.

Pros: Excellent breakfast. Nice room and comfortable bed. Location fantastic.. Parking on site.

Cons: Almost nothing

Pros: Great location right next to old town! Older hotel but really nice... ask for a first floor room with balcony facing the courtyard in the rear of the bldg... very nice! Very nice breakfast!!!

Pros: Location very central, yet secluded; large private garden with bar, restaurant and swimming pool; superb breakfast; superb bar inside and outside; most professional staff; clean; nicely designed rooms; interesting daily menu in the restaurant; superb restaurant; parking accross very convenient, hotel has favorable daily rate; excellent jazz evenings every Friday;

Cons: Hotel restaurant is for fine dining - staff could be more fluent in English and more trained for the fine dining service;

Pros: Overall a good hotel

Cons: Hotel pretends to be „classy“ - and maybe it was, once upon a time - but now it looks more like pretending than anything else. Seems to be hosting mostly tourists, so the people at the reception must do a lot of explanation and the service it‘s overall quite slow. For what it delivers a bit too expensive, but overall good.

Pros: Hotel is three minute walk from train station and “grande dame” in all her glory: charming rooms, monogrammed silver, lovely, flexible meeting/relaxation areas, expert/friendly staff, and ample, delicious breakfast. Have already booked a formal dinner for friends for 2021.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Very nice property with a very central location. Reception staff were amazing and when they noticed that it was my BD the next day, they upgraded me to a fantastic room! The hotel restaurant was really good as well and I enjoyed my lunch there.

Cons: Only negative point was that when I arrived, the parking was really full. I had to get creative with parking my 4x4 without intruding into other spaces. Next time I'll come in a small car so I can fit better.

Pros: Amazing place, great hospitality, delicious dinners. Highly recommended.

Pros: Well I don’t know where to start everything was great, the family who runs the guest house made us feel it’s our home they are very nice. The property provide us with a card that can be used in all mean of transport and places to visit for free that was a plus because it could cost us a lot. Room was cozy and worth what I paid for. Thanks lovely family

Pros: This is a terrific hotel in a privileged location in Bolzano. The people running the hotel couldn’t be nicer- very friendly and helpful in all ways. In addition to staying at the hotel and having drinks, we were also able to get laundry done. The room was excellent, with great bedding, toilet, etc. we will definitely return to this hotel soon.

Pros: Hotel Hanny was in a quiet area but an easy walk to the old town shopping centre and museums, then caught a bus back. Good breakfasts and meals and easy parking.

Cons: Doesn't have AC but provided a fan.

Pros: Incredible variety of fresh fruits in the morning and quality breakfasts in general, including many home-baked elements and tasty grains bread. The panoramic views from the terrace are one the main positives. The balconies in such a charming environment are a big plus! Kind and helpful interactions with the owners during check-in and check-out procedures as well as throughout the stay. Mobility-wise we really appreciated the possibility to use bikes to/from the hotel.

Cons: The extra bed was too short for a tall adult. Also it was not horizontal (not even). More pillows would have been appreciated – we should have asked for more.

Pros: Loved the food of the restaurant and location with nice view! Lovely staff and nice that the hotel is not too big and impersonal.

Pros: Family hotel where you literally feel yourself part of this family! Quiet place with all sorts of activities nearby - promenades, hiking trails, castles. 2 bus stops and 1 cable car station at walking distance.

Pros: The restaurant there is 5 stars I’m sure. Excellent choices and the staff is well trained and will see that you have everything you need. We wish we could go back again. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there.

Pros: The breakfast was amazing. We also had dinner there once, which was delicious. (We opted for Black Angus beef). The staff was very friendly and the location is great too. It was calm overall and very relaxing. Would recommend!

Cons: The AC was not that easy to get used too. The first night, we got a little bit too cold, and the second night, it was the opposite. Also the rooms aren't soundproof and so depending on your neighbors, you might hear what's going on a little bit too much. This is something that I have experienced in 5 stars hotels as well...

Pros: The staff were incredible especially Mauritz (apologies if spelt incorrectly) who I assume was the manager or head of front of house. Charming, helpful and informative. Loved the hotel and the restaurant was delicious but a bit pricey. Its quality food so I'm not complaining but eating there adds to the cost of the stay. Loved how dog friendly it was, she was even allowed in the restaurant but there isn't a lot of green space around to take her for walks or e en just essential business!

Pros: Easy to find, clean modern hotel with good facilities including a pool. Rooms nice and clean and good breakfast choice

Cons: Very little in the way of bars and cafes in the area but short taxi to Bolzano old town but if you happy to use hotel for evening meal then not an issue

Pros: The place was amazing the amazing and so nice and helpful. We had some problem geting to The hotel and they were super helpful with information and offering to call a cab for us. The location was amazing with such beautiful Views. The breakfast was amazing as well and we ate dinner at the restaurang too and the food was amazing.

Pros: We LOVED our stay here. Incredibly warm and inviting, especially when stepping in from the frigid cold. We were welcomed and when we asked for a last minute table for dinner, then gladly set one up for us. The dinner service was attentive and informative. The husband and wife that run this inn are truly talented. You can tell the staff is happy, the decor is just beautiful, the food was great and the views are magnificent. It was such a spoil to spend our night here, and it was such a great value, too! We were even given passes for the lifts, buses and museums in Bolzano city center. Only wish we could have spent more time here.

Pros: The location is in the city center, in the main square. The spa is marvelous - clean and well equipped. The whirlpool is fabulous.

Cons: The room is large but the furniture is essential, nothing to make the room friendly and warm. We went to breakfast towards the end (10 AM) each day and food was not replenished if finished. The staff started to clean up and clear dishes out at 0945. Not very relaxing or inviting to make one want to enjoy another cup of coffee.

Pros: The location was fantastic. Less than a five minute walk to the train station which we easily did with all of our luggage! Restaurants, shops and museums all within minutes of the hotel.

Pros: We have been here several times and will go again.

Pros: Convenient location, right on the main piazza and close to the train station. Clean, beautiful room with comfy bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful breakfast room with everything you could want. Hotel had a bar and restaurant on the first floor. Both were fantastic with friendly staff and excellent food and service. There just wasn't anything you could want that you didn't have at this hotel. EXCELLENT!!!!

Pros: Buffet breakfast was a good spread - plenty of choices. Room was comfy and easy to get to. Front bar, coffee shop and dining options so convenient and delightful, location of hotel was great, 10 min walk to railway and right in heart of old town. Short walk to museum with Otzi the iceman. Staff were just so obliging. A delight to stay there.

Cons: Cannot think of anything not liked. Room a bit hot but windows openable so turned heating off and opened window.

Pros: Located at town center, reasonable sized triple room. Good buffet breakfast with variety of choices and loved the fresh fruits

Pros: Close to the train station, spotless in every way. Beautiful building inside and out, including the rooms. Beautiful cafe attached with tables inside and out, overlooking/on the square. The most amazing breakfast spread I have ever seen, anywhere! Walking distance to amazing shopping, restaurants and breathtaking views.

Pros: Really nice hotel. In summer would be great with the view and pool.

Cons: It is a bit far away from the city center (20/25min walking), the bus does not drive that often there and sometimes it does not even pass by.

Pros: Really disappointed to arrive about 10 mins before the closing time for orders in the restaurant to be told by the grumpy woman we couldn’t order anything. We had travelled all day and thought on a Saturday night at 9.20pm we could at least order something! The girl on the front desk was nice but restaurant not! Very disappointed

Pros: Very clean with updated rooms. They have a very good and extensive breakfast buffet. The location is a 5 minute walk to the center of town. Free and secure parking was provided. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Cons: The bar area is in the hallway, but seating was available in an open common area about 20 steps away.

Pros: We loved the Breakfast, the room, and the hotel staff!

Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was really good. Wonderfully comfortable bed, clean and spacious bathroom and easy to use shower, which is not always the case in Europe. And the hotel provided us with free tickets for the cable car as well as the Otzi iceman museum!!

Pros: Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms. It was steps to the lift up to the mountain and about 5-7 minutes to the main streets in the old town. The room was large and spacious with a balcony looking out on the mountain. The breakfast is tasty, and when I missed the first morning because of jet lag - the staff brought me food anyway! Great wifi and great vibe. Will stay here again

Cons: I got to town later in the evening, and the woman checking me in forgot to tell me about the town being shut down / shelter in place rule the until after lunch because of local emergency (diffusing a WW2 bomb!). Otherwise, nothing.

Pros: The location is stunning. It is high up overlooking Bolzano city, vineyards and there are mountain views that have to be seen to be believed. There are also the Dolomites that shine in the afternoon sun.

Pros: Exterior and grounds were very nice. Good proximity to Bahnhof and attractions in town.

Cons: Our room was on the top floor with poor elevator service and small windows

Pros: The location is great, in the middle of town with a very pretty, well-tended garden. It's easily reached on foot from the railway station.

Cons: The bathroom of room 411 was too small, especially for two people.

Pros: Good location on the centre of town with 'on site' parking. Clean room and very friendly and helpful staff.

Pros: Beautiful setting, garden area for sitting and relaxing. Breakfast provided a huge selection of local and delicious foods.

Cons: We stayed in the early fall and the air conditioning had been turned off. Our room was hot, even with the window open.

Pros: Great breakfast. The room was GREAT with lots of room for our luggage activities. Very good lighting and a great bathroom. Adequate parking in back of the hotel or in the underground garage were we met an old that was sleeping but friendly. We arrived at dinner time (7:30~8:00 PM) and found that the property did not serve dinner (bar only in the evening). We had a great meal at an adjacent property that has an Italian restaurant (less than 50 feet).

Cons: Picture of hotel does not adequately show the surrounding environment. It has a 'park like' feel, but there are apartments and other facilities near by. In the dark, the hotel cannot be seen from the road. There is only a small lighted sign to help you find the hotel. It was a difficult task even with our GPS.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent and catered for all requirements. The indoor pool was brilliant. It also has an outside pool. The gardens are well maintained. Its location is perfect for the town centre
