10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice stuff, clean and modern hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is good. Breakfast is good and staff are very friendly.
Cons: Gym is small. As we were at first floor. it was a little noisy from outside - the windows were clearly not sound proof.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very clean
Cons: Over priced
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Said it was 139 but was 200 due to parking and taxes. Misleading.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness, beds
Cons: Bathroom has a frosted glass door right in front of the bed. If you turn on a light at night you wake up your partner.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, comfy beds and bedding, nice staff, beautiful decor.
Cons: Bathroom doors are the trendy barn door style, which many hotels are doing as a design upgrade. They’re cute but in my opinion not great for hotels due to noise and privacy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is delicious and ample and the room was spacious and comfortable.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The amenities here are fantastic! The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast had several healthy choices.
Cons: I can't say that there was! Everything was excellent. Exceeded my expectations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a friendly staff at the front desk. The lobby is open and has nice seating to enjoy coffee or a drink at their bar. They have a small market for snacks and drinks also.
Grant Street Inn - Bloomington - Building
2
9.5 Excellent (276 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Grant Street Inn places you in the heart of Bloomington, within a 10-minute walk of Indiana University Bloomington and Monroe County Courthouse. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect in relation to nightlife in Bloomington. The inn itself was quite lovely. Did not get to try the free breakfast, but friends who were also staying at the inn mentioned it was phenomenal. Instead of the typical breakfast bar fare, there were actual chefs who made dishes with some creative flare. Staff was quite friendly and having a 24hr reception was a plus.
Cons: I reserved a bedroom with a queen bed, but it was definitely a full-size bed. Friends who were staying in another room also stated that it was the same for them. Would recommend upgrading to a room with a king since I think it's only 10-20 more?
7.5 Good
Pros: Very well located property and nothing wrong with my stay—room was small but clean—rate was high doe to being homecoming weekend so the value was just OK overall. Nice buffet breakfast, but overall this large B&B lacks some of the coziness and personal attention we ha e received in small B&B’s in the past.
Cons: I ended up with a smaller room with the sink in the bedroom but it was the last room available in a very busy Homecoming weekend in this College town. Could hear the people in the room next door talking late into the night.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The breakfast provided did not meet our expectations according to reviews.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff upon arrival was very accommodating. We were there on a Monday evening so I’m sure they weren’t booked full and my husband has a handicap so they allowed us to choose a first level room. The bed sat pretty high so they brought us a step stool to help him get in and out of bed. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast offerings were wonderful - oatmeal, fresh fruit, two kinds of eggs, and more. Far better than most places. In the evening we sat on the front porch in wood rockers and it was very relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place for others.
Cons: Nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: More personality than a typical hotel. Cozy, homey feel. Great location.
Cons: My room was a bit cooler than I like it, and did not have a thermostat to adjust it. Totally understandable for a bed and breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable rooms in a lovely Inn with a porch outside your room, a great full breakfast close to everything in Bloomington. Love the 24 hr tea.
Cons: King size bed a little lumpy on edges and flying bugs in room which I believe were fruit flies.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: No European-style breakfast, but the American-style breakfast was freshly made and delicious. Complimentary freshly baked cookies throught the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked in for one night but decided to stay for two nights. Fantastic place nice breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Holidaymakers from Australia so we have seen lots of hotel rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location near IU campus. Walked everywhere.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location and friendly staff.
Cons: Room was listed (after reservation was made) as having a balcony and an air conditioner. It had neither. Also opened to main sitting area for guest check in. Much too loud mornings after 6am.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Both the breakfast and preparer were delicious and helpful.
Cons: We could not figure out how to turn off the AC and too late to ask for help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I booked this hotel because of the high guest rating on TripAdvisor. I was rather curious as to what a 9.6 rating is. I typically book the highest rated hotel rooms within my means when I travel, but never I have booked a 9.6 before. My expectations were hight, and they have been met and exceeded. It is a very nice and lovely old house - updated with awesome amenities, such as modern bathrooms and remote controlled fireplace (not every room has it but mine did), great location in a charming town, our guest room was amazing. Breakfast was excellent, choices for every taste. Amazing stay - will definitely be back!
7.9 Good
Pros: Room very nice and bed very comfy. Felt like I was staying in someone’s lovely old home. Nice kitty on the property.
Cons: Breakfast could be served one hour longer. We missed it because it was only till 9. Outside of building needs paint.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds were beautiful and relaxing. The breakfast was amazing!
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was amazingly good with fresh ingredients. The chef talked to us about the gourmet offerings he was making.
Cons: Bathroom sink was stopped up, tub had no stopper, television remote didn't allow for changing volume, ironing board was table-top and tiny

5.4 Okay
Cons: staff after requesting couple times could not quiet the guest pass midnight making so much noise in the hall. my infant and family in other rooms could not sleep. Also, the staff said they would comp us and have the manager call us after we left. we did NOT receive any post call nor any comp.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room had two king beds completely separated from the living area, which had a kitchen and pull-out sofa. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom, one with bath tub/shower and the other with a stand-up shower. This place is awesome for large families!

Cons: States breakfast served till 1030am. Went down at 9am, only scraps left. Staff had everything put away by 930, nothing left at all to take back to my room for my wife
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The entire experience was very good; we had a wonderful overnight stay. I especially appreciated the young-kid friendly pool. The deepest end was only four feet with steps leading down into the three-foot end. My two oldest could walk the entire length.
Cons: The free breakfast was great as far as the varied offerings, lots to choose from. However, I would like to see the hours extended when it's available - maybe by another hour. You find yourself hurrying the kids in order to take advantage of the deal.

Pros: Very nice place to stay. The staff excellent!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Price
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect
Cons: No
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was very nice & clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and courteous. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but the food smelled amazing!
Cons: The whole parking situation. We had to pay an extra $12 per day to park in the hotel parking garage. That's just wrong. Also had to park in the "overflow" parking area, that's a block away from the hotel, one evening (the $12 fee was waived for the night).
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Loved my short stay. Apart from the breakfast variety the hotel is good with wonderful helpful staff team
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location - centrally located downtown. Could walk to lots of restaurants and shops and not have to drive your car The snacks were always good (sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, rice krispy treats, fruit and trail mix) and available for the taking. The staff was warm and welcoming and helpful. Also enjoyed the outdoor seating at front of hotel. Perfect for people watching
Cons: The pillows were flat and the mattress too firm. There was a hair in the bathtub and the trash can was nasty. The TV was awful. No “guide” available- you never knew what was on until you clicked on the channel. Basically We didn’t get to watch anything from the beginning because we didn’t know it was on in the first place ha! The ironing board was a mini one - had to be placed on a table to be used - I need a whole iron to iron my whole shirt. Never seen a hotel not have a full size iron.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: No room service
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very friendly and the hotel was very clean. Great location
Cons: No
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extraordinarily helpful
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location! The included breakfast is really good, and the whole place is very clean.
Cons: I booked a room with a king bed on booking.com, only to show up and be told that wasn't available and we would be getting a room with 2 queen beds. What is the use in picking out what I want online if that's not what is saved in their system?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the Hyatt in Bloomington is the BEST! We will stay here when coming to Bloomington from now on, we loved it. It was walkable, the room was very clean and decor was minimal which we loved and it is pet friendly.
Cons: No, LOVED it!

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love the village feel. Everyone is super friendly. It's so much better than staying in a "normal" hotel. So worth the money!!!
7.5 Good
Pros: Most of the furnishings
Cons: Not safe for elderly travelers using a cane or walker because ob uneven brick walkways, stairs, lack of elevators. Also, the shower was unsafe and a fall risk with slippery floor and no grab bars. The parking area was dangerous because of dropoff at end of parking space (near 1124); had i traveled in another 4 inches, the right front wheel would have wedged into eroded shoulder and a tow would have been necessary to extract the car for its hole.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice space, clean. Unique setting
Cons: Television/cable in bedroom didn't work; but only only seemed to bother my 7 yr old. A few of the dining chairs had really wobbly legs, felt as if could easily break. Took quite a while to figure out how to turn on the shower.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: very clean, well maintained, very friendly staff, quick and easy check in, wonderful experience!
Cons: Well I usually travel with a boat, and usually have to charge my boat, and there's not any easy way to plug in to charge my boat, but that's understandable, the way it's set up but still very enjoyable stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: cute place, clean and close to where we needed to be
Cons: we were staying for 4 nights and always had to ask for clean towels.

Pros: Great location near restaurants and only 5 miles to the IU basketball arena.
Cons: The thermostat in the room was set to 88 degrees so it was hot at the beginning but custodial helped us to set the AC and thermostat and within minutes the temperature was more comfortable inside the room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very hospitable
Cons: A little hard to find the place
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room was clean and the cleaning staff and SOME Front Desk Staff were courteous. Did NOT LIKE at all where I was charged an ADDITIOANL $50 "just in case I damaged the ROOM".
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property show signs of small age
4.2 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good and the location was just where we wanted to be. The bathroom did look like it had been renovated and had a nice roll-in shower.
Cons: This Hampton Inn looks tired and worn out. The lobby furniture looks like a well worn college cafeteria or well-lit sports bar. The staff (other than the day we left) acted as if we were bothering their studies (and maybe we were). The room, mobility accessible was just barely wide enough to squeeze through the entry into the room with a walker.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was cheap
Cons: Nope
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The helpfulness of the staff as well as fresh fruit at breakfast were my favorite things.
Cons: The desk had something sticky on it that appeared to be from a spill of some sort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Elipitical
Cons: Nope
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast had a good variety. The bed was super comfy.
Cons: The walls are thin, can hear everything.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything. The only thing that could make this room better would be a window. Thank you also for the upgrade!
Cons: I couldn’t figure out how to connect to WiFi and it was 11pm so I didn’t want to call, even though I know it would’ve been ok to call.... I just didn’t want to bother someone so late with something that wasn’t really important.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely apt. in a great location.
Cons: The sofa sleeper wasn’t very comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was within walking distance of the functions I was attending. Courtyard Suite was a full suite bedroom and kitchen/seating area. Very comfortable and clean.
Cons: I did not care for the artwork in the bedroom in the Courtyard suite but according to the website, it is available to purchase so always subject to change. I also stayed in the Wiley room - no windows which was ok since it was my last night and was only there to sleep. Would have liked a microwave in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice decor. Great location. Generous space.
Cons: Kleenex? Did I miss them?
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lots of space and very nice.
Cons: The kitchen sink was clogged as the garbage disposal didn’t work. Also the toilet kept running. A fan in the bedroom would also make it a bit kore comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The suite was spectacular, and the location couldn't be better. It's a great value. We will definitely be staying here every time we travel to Bloomington!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff we encountered were fabulous! Friendly, caring and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.
Cons: I am a bit of a clean freak, so I understand my standards are high. I thought the room could be cleaner...a few things on the floor a couple of odd hairs on the night table and bathroom counter.
6.7 Good
Pros: It appeared to be a clean facility, the bed was comfortable, clean bathrooms. The heat worked well in our room, and overall it was a good stay.
Cons: Definitely an old property they are renovating. They are doing a good job with the renovations, but are definitely taking short cuts. The door to our room was hung very crooked (the bottom of the door didn't close), a lot of noise from outside was coming into the room, big places out of the walls were missing, the water faucet wouldn't shut off all the way.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel, great staff. In the process of remodeling but the construction was not at all a problem for guests. Good looking hotel getting even better. Also, fresh, quality food at the continental breakfast.

Cons: The carpet seemed worn and dirty. The room just needed some paint and a fresher look.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room and accommodations were adequate for a short term business stay.
Cons: Was issued a room that was either not turned over yet or somebody was still residing in it - as evidenced by the bottle of wine and unmade bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were able to check in several hours early.
5.0 Okay
Pros: This Comfort Inn was close to IU Campus and it seems like a safe area.
Cons: I typically don't like to leave poor reviews, but I was disappointed with this Comfort Inn. It wasn't filthy but it also wasn't clean feeling. The beds looked and felt lopsided (head seemed lower than foot); the breakfast was bland and the gravy was watery; when we checked in, the staff didn't seem very friendly (she wasn't rude just not welcoming); when we checked out, they ran the wrong credit card (I booked the room online with a card but gave another card at check-in to use); I didn't care for the sliding door with frosted windows for the bathroom door (at night when others are sleeping you can see light through the windows on the door); this Comfort Inn didn't seem to have the "extras" that I've experienced in the past at other Comfort Inns. I'm sorry but I did not care for this Inn and I probably won't stay there again when we come back to Bloomington.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice sized rooms and just exceptionally nice staff
7.0 Good
Pros: The beds were comfortable and it was quiet overall.
Cons: We reserved two adjacent rooms because we had another couple traveling with us. We found a bed bug in our room, so they moved us to another, but there was such a strong scent we literally couldn't breathe and had to have them move us to a third room...
1.0 Poor
Pros: The room was dirty. There was one employee at the hotel, and she went to re-clean the room. That was the only thing that was good.
Cons: The room was dirty. Hair on the bedsheets, dirty bathroom.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Updated and modern
Cons: N/A
6.0 Good
Pros: Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast left a bit to be desired. Really no choices for low carb diet.

Pros: The hotel was much better than I had expected. Quiet area, but near major highway access. Well designed room with adequate electrical outlets. Although no in house dining, several good restaurants in walking distance. Wide selection of breakfast food.
Cons: I wish the bathroom had a second sink. In all fairness the kitchen area did have a large sink. A second mirror would have been very useful for two people trying to get ready at the same time.
6.3 Good
Pros: The food and rooms were adequate. It was quiet.
Cons: The kitchen had ants, the burners on the stove smoked, the exercise room was tiny.

Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable.
Cons: TV didn’t have sound for local stations.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Unfortunately the volume didn't work on our t.v., so that made for a long night of silence. The water pressure was so low & and also so slow draining... it was hard when showering/brushing your teeth. We were also a bit surprised when our heat clicked on & we couldn't get it to turn off. We were so disappointed to find out there were no laundry facilities, although I take responsibility for that, being that I should have noticed this on the website. The hotel's location makes it very hard to get to, and when leaving the hotel... you must cross 4 lanes of traffic, which is so dangerous. All in all, I would not choose this hotel again. :(
